  • Great video and appropriate music. I really like Zara, she is down to earth and genuinely loves her horses.

  • How do you pronounce "Zara"?

  • @newbornwandertoyota "Za-ra."

  • i think that zara is a great icon! it shows that you can be glamorous and get mucky with horse at the same time, she is sooooo awesomee :) great video by the way :P

  • i love that girl

  • my mum went on a hunt with her mum, anne while my granny had tea with her granny, the queen

    good video

  • same but zara is really just a normall person and thats how people should see her

  • She is boooootiful .... loverly and somehow reminds me of a young Jennifer Saunders (am I the only one that thinks that?????)

  • Thats very true but i know you said there good riders but not just that there naturally talented. If you havent got the money somtimes you get spotted if your really good even if your on a bad horse and they make somthing out of you. But yeah i agree its annoying how money comes iinto it so much!

  • If you compete seriously in *any* sport there is going to be a lot of money needed. And if the most important piece of equipment requires a stable, food, vet and training....well, expect the costs to triple. Wealthy riders is as surprising as tall basketball players. ;)

End of the day, if the rider is no good it doesn't matter how expensive the horse or how nice the tack; they wont get far.

  • do you think zara will marry mike tindall...do you think anybody else loved zara more than mike? do you think anybody might object or speak now or forever hold there peace..?

  • I'm surprised they aren't married already. ^_^

  • @AwwFiddleStix both busy life styles, marriage is just a statement of principals a clarifacation, and never means anything these days, you know a ring and an official seal etc..they're probably just happy as it is..but i can't help the feeling that there is something in the way? is it love ?

  • Happy to see Zara coming to Kentucky for Rolex! Good luck on Buckingham Palace

  • COOL

  • ya it is i guess but the horse world is a about money

  • not only that, but all the things you need to own a horse and ride are ridiculously expensive!

I didn't get to start riding until I was 13, and I didn't get my first horse until I was 17, and she was unbroke. It drives me nuts to see these little 8 and 10 years old out there showing with 70,000$ warmbloods that you know they had nothing to do with the training of. It's ridiculous. I barely have the money even to do local shows right now, I have to save months in advance for one!

  • my mum has competed against her mum - anne!

  • so glad to see so many friendly responses and such a rider nice person who loves her animals more than the prize that fame winning brings

hard to find horse peeps like her and british fo sure x

  • Excellent compilation - Amazing photos & great choice of music. She deserves her success. She is clearly talented - you still need guts, determination and extreme skill to complete successfully at this level. After 2008 not being a good year for her, I hope things improve this season.

  • my sister has competed against her

  • zara has so much presence, and she is so photogenic and has the most beautiful eyes..its an impossibility not to go weak at the knees once you look into her eyes...

  • She's good but considering the fact that she is wealthy (funny that! *rolls eyes*) she has probably owned push button pony's her whole life. People like her can afford the best, ponies, schoolmasters.....

  • agreed,

  • yeah, I must agree, I know a girl who could be competing with ian miller, but she doen't have the money to get a horse that could take her there. :(

  • the horse at 2:51 is absolutely stunning

  • she's gd coz she is the youngest ever world champion!

nd she's one of the best eventers of all time!

  • i really really dont mean this in a bad or mean way, but what makes her so good? i don't really understand, is it just because shes like related to the queen?

  • Even if she weren't the Queen's grand daughter I think we'd be hearing about her. She is a very good rider and has worked hard to get to her level. She comes across as a genuine person and to top it all off she has a cool fashion sense and is really pretty.

So the notice isn't just because of her family, although i'm sure it helps! ;)

  • yah, you hardly ever hear of Ellen Whitaker or Pippa Funnel, shes like the main person and i just didn't really get why except for the fact shes a 'princess'

  • Actually Zara Phillips has no title of Princess. Her parents Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips decided not to have thier 2 children be given titles so that they could grow up as more ordinary people. But Zara and her brother Peter are still 11th & 12th in line of succession to the Throne of England.

  • what are you talking about? I'm constantly hearing about pippa and ellen and until i saw this video i had no idea who zara phillips was

  • what she is like a princess lol 11th grandaughter of the queen i think

  • The Queen has eight grandchildren and Zara was grandchild number two, and the first granddaughter. The Queen's grandchildren, in order of birth:

    Anne: Peter and Zara Philips

    Charles: William and Harry

    Andrew: Beatrice and Eugenie

    Edward: Louise and James

  • she fell off at pau cross country at fence 15she broke her collarbone and and Tsunami II had to be put down with a broken neck!!!

RIP Tsunami II only 11 years old

  • she brings warmth and gentleness,

with her the wind is comforting,

    cool breeze is nullifyied,

omnipotence in her beauty is the nature which is that of zara,

  • HAIL ZARA PHILLIPS!!!!!!!!!!

  • great video and brilliant rider. ppl do need to stop with the whole comparing disciplines. i grew up doing hunter/jumper and that was hard. now i event and its hard too. riding is tough. just different disciplines make it tough in seperate directions. i used to have opinions on all the styles until i truely rode and competed them

  • shes pretty good... untill she ruined toytown!

  • So true! Equestrian yes, Princess yes but please do not link the two. she looks like claire out of hollyoaks-wonder if they have the same personality lol...

  • i love her!!!!

  • i'm a showjumper.. and zara is my idol...she is a great rider, it's realy a shame about the olympics. :(

  • Great Vid. She is my Idol! It's such a shame about the olympics.

  • Posh Totty in riding gear mmmmmmmm

  • ich liebe dich Zara...

  • COOL! YOU GO GIRL

  • oh zara!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SHE HAS A HUGEEEEE HORSE!!! AND ive never ever heard of her till now...

  • you mean you've never heard of Zara Phillips? Where are you from?

  • Nope i HAVE no idea who she is! And i live in AMERICA

  • were did you get the pics of her when she was younger?

  • SHE IS MY IDOL!

  • MINE TOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • shes mi idol!!.. i wanna follow in her footsteps.. ..this is really WIERD but i love her teeth.. i dunno y lol ..its just WIERD :L:L

  • Nice Video

  • i hope zara's ok?....why does she have to be so brave:( oh zara!!! zara has spirit of samurai....

  • happy birthday zara!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh zara!!!!

  • itz fuuny how you call hera a equestrian pricess

  • She only won the BBC Sports award because shes a princess!

  • i luv zara philip

  • hello, hunter equitation, medals and hunter derbys are judged horse and rider too!!! All equestrians are entitled to their own opinions, I agree, but this "oh we're better than you" crap is stupid. every discipline has the possibility of being hard and needs work to be good. whether it be hunters, jumpers, eventers or cowboys; we all need conditioning and we all work extra hard to get where we are with our horses here and now.

oh, gizmo13919,hunters only go to 4ft6, just so you know...

  • I agree Grahaminlove Im tired of the crap too!

  • what does it matter anymore....what does anything matter........

  • awwfiddlestix you have do a third instalment to equestrian princess...very commendable effort you have put in with these tribute videos to zara! zara looks so beautiful:) well done awwfiddlestix:)

  • Arasha08... Hunters take a lot of accuracy, timing, flat work time before any workout, elegance over the jumps, and they risk their lives going over 5ft- 7ft jumps! A lot more dangerous than Dressage. btw when we do flat work it's complicated movements and leads changes like dressage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • hunters go max to 4'6". jumpers go higher, although hunters do practice higher than needed for skill, because oxers are always higher...

  • "im not trying to succeed for the people who are waiting for me to fail. im doing it for myself. im one for the 'you only live once so you should do as much as you can" sort of thing". - zara phillips

  • The horses are judged over fences on their form and in eventing they are judged on their time over fences In my opinion they kind of equal each other out

  • Hunters is judged on YOU and your horse too Its just in seperate classes There are even some classes where you are both judged I dont think people should say that hunters is harder than eventing or eventing is harder than hunters Theyre judged on completely different things In eventing only class where you are judged on your horse and you In hunters you are completely judged on that but there are fences

  • hope zara's ok

  • oh zara...the sky and its stars make music to you... the sun and the moon praise you.... the gods exalt you.

  • zara is the most beautiful woman in the world!

  • very good job! XD

    i love her so much!

she is definitely my role model =]

  • Good:)

  • 12th

  • she's eleventh in line to the throne. it's the queen, then charles, then harry, then william, the andrew, then his so, then his daughter, then anne, then zara's brother then zara. i think. i just read in an arcticle so im not entirely sure

  • She's also 11th in line to the Throne. Talk about a girl that would blow your parents mind if you brought her to meet them. Especially after that last one....

  • she is pretty and an amazing rider.

  • the shadows and light, that move with the wind, hidden violets grow splashed with summer spray, just another perfect day.

  • any expectations on which team might do well at the olympics in hong kong? (ok, i know they are technically the beijing olympics, but our city gets to host all the equestrian events). would you say the u.k. or u.s. are frontrunners, or someone else?

  • i think that either germany or the USA will win the equestrian team events (jumping) but i think denmark might win dressage

  • thanks, lollypop horse. i presume denmark is sending andreas and matine? i've tix to the jumping and dressage, but not the xc.

i WAS really looking forward to it, until china had that violent crackdown in tibet and people are calling for an olympics boycott. so now i don't know what to do. i mean, the equestrian events are in Hong Kong, which is generally free and separate from beijing. but i still feel bad going.

  • wow, i didnt hear about any of that!!! i hope they dont boyott! Im guessing that denmark will send andreas and matinee, they are amazing!!

  • something should be done to help the people of tibet!!! its an outrage what these communists are doing to these peaceful people!!!

  • i think that either germany or the USA will win the equestrian team events (jumping) but i think denmark might win dressage

  • australia has very stong eventers right now!

Clayton and Lucinda Fredricks and they both are beating americans and english at there home events, and then we have Andrew Hoy, Sonja JOhnson and Megan Jones, so aussies are in for a good run at taking the gold out for eventing!

  • god she is so prett and an ahhhhhhh-mazinggg rider

  • what a woman!!!

  • did anyone see the bbc sports relief? with jack vettriano painting a portrait of zara and the photo shoot as well, zara looked beautiful! absolutely incredible.

  • everything zara does is majestic and divine, even the most subtle and quaint of things is such a blessing....like a sub rosa.

  • Sorrybut i disagree. America has the most animal abuse, and slaughter houses. Pippa Fummel , All the Whittakers, Fox-Pitt, Phillips ( Zara) and so many more. Name 3 americans with more or equal suscess to the Brits.

  • Kim Severson (USA) took Silver to Pippa's Bronze in Athens, 2004. In Atlanta, GBR didn't have any medals in individual eventing competition, and the gold was taken by David O'Conner (USA). Karen O'Connor also finishes strong in international events.

Don't forget that the Australians have been winning a lot of the recent challenges, too. Andrew Hoy, for example.

New Zealand is also historically competitive. Marc Todd won at every major event during his career. Now, Andrew Nicholson, Blyth Tait.

  • Yeaa she is british, no offence, but pretty much altl top riders are British. I cant hink of one american rider with such sucsess and fame as our English.

  • i think that britain probably has the best para dressage and eventers. germany and holland have the best dressage (britain rocks too!) and we are preobably equal with germany, ireland and america with our (amazing) show jumping. i think that horses are treated best here (and in america) too, as we are very interested in looking after horses in a natural way. kelly marks is proably britains best horse whisperer. i wish that i could be the best rider and horse whisperer

  • Wow, she can't honestley be too good a rider now can she? Cuz she sure cleans up pretty nice. Is she british?? I think the USA rocks and I love riders from the US!! GO USA!

  • zara is an angel from a high kingdom!

  • Is Zara Phillips British? are you sure?????. She is the grandaughter of the current Queen of England, daughter of Her Royal Highness Preincess Anne, who is herself the daughter of Queen Elizebeth 11, so yes.... she is British

  • oh zara.....

  • Zara Rules ** Proud to be British, so many riders ***

  • mint rider wish i could be tht good at riding and tht strong and still look pretty in a nice ball gown!!

    ..:)

  • was'nt toytown in noddy?? or was that rupert the bear??? and pollywolley one of zaras dolls she named as a child???

  • wat?

  • i mean toytown zara's horse is named after the place in noddy, and pollywolley zara's other horse was named after zara's favourite doll she played with as a child.

  • She's an amazing rider

Does she ride the same horse in all three events?

  • No She dosent 2 look really alike though. ones called toytown and im not sure of the others name x

  • pollywolley

  • thats it lol

  • i think so?????? and obviously toy town.

  • i don't think i can watch zara jump those dangerously high hurdles i get worried every time i see those pictures.....zara is very brave indeed, zara is to motivated and driven to stop! those are incredibly high obstacles zara is jumping there! a very brave lady!

  • ** i meant Zara lol x

  • I liked your video. I really like Zarah, she is great and loves horses!

  • yeah i'm not a big fan of zara either.. she seems not as well devoted to eventing like the others are

  • zara is devoted to eventing im sure of it!!! why don't you like zara then!!!!

  • ILOVE THE PONY

  • there should be a statue to triumphantly celebrate zara's victory as world champion in london preferably near and around the national gallery......zara could unveil this equestrian piece herself.......she would dominate the whole area it would be magnificent, her virtuousness and elegance would be caught in time for an eternity.

  • zara's eyes glisten like fire!

  • tomme1981 i think you should crawl back into your hole!

the minute you can jump better than Zara why dont you give her a lesson!

yeah she has money but she couldnt do it if she hadnt ridden a horse in her life!

i think shes one of the best riders in the country!

so shove that up your pipe and smoke it!

  • The money doesn't hurt but there is no substitute for talent, skill, and a TON of hard work.

  • zara is the most beautiful woman i have ever seen!!!!!!!she has a spell on me.

  • im not rich

but i have a great horse

and even if i do say so my self

    we make a great team!

just like zara and toytown do =]

  • mmmm. Is Zara top of her sport because she is talented...... or because 99.9% of the female population cannot afford to horse jump (whatever it's called) competively??

Competion is zero, hence spolit little rich girl who has a large amount of inherited money is at the top (sic).

  • she is top of her sport!!! im not sure you have to be rich to be a equestrian rider at any level, there are plenty of training facilities where potential future riders must go! and the competition she has look very good to me.if you have a gripe with the rich then have a go at the billionaire oil tycoons or ken livingstone the commie mayor of london!! not our royal family.

  • My favourite Royal family story always is the Queen and Prince Philip looking back over their married life, thumbing through their family album....

when the Queen says to Philip.... "oohhhh didn't our children do well in life Betty.. they're all either princes or princesses!!"

  • i take it your meaning is that there royal titles shall always proceed them? no matter what they have achieved, but you see thats where you have a contradicton,if she was'nt a royal and had won you would not be on here making any comments!!!!!sounds like sour grapes to me.

  • The sport is called "eventing," and there most certainly IS competition to reach the top. Its not all rich kids at that level, either. Has her money helped her--oh yes. So has the fact that both her parents rode at the Olympic level. But that doesnt mean her accomplishments are worthless. If she won an Olympic medal is swimming or running, I doubt people would give her such a hard time.

  • You have no idea what it takes to event (or "horse jump" as you call it). It is the most difficult of equestrian sports. No amount of money could buy success, only real talent and hard work. And Toytown, her horse, is an extremely difficult horse and it takes a very special rider to get him to perform, particularly to the highest level like she has managed. So maybe you should stick to commenting on things you know something about, instead of in areas in which you are clearly clueless..........

  • Rich or poor it takes a lot of courage to get on a horse and ride around the type of cross country fences she jumps.!

  • You are really funny. You don't get to rolex with money. You get to 4 * eventing with talent. If you could buy your way to the top there would be so many more people there, but there would also be a lot of people falling off and DYING. Rolex is rigorous.

  • AbbyRM07 & Sugarworld93: You missing my point. I am not making a personal attack on Zara Phillips.

I am stating to be successful in eventing you need a great deal of money, and an occupation where you have a great deal of free time to hone your talent.

As professional eventing is restricted to a minority of the population, the competition is not as intense than if you were playing tennis or golf.

  • You are kidding right? I can't believe you even said that. Have you ever been to Rolex or an event of that status?

  • is she famous ha ha she is very good

  • the picture of zara with her horse at 3/15 has a haunting and evocative quality and very dramatic feel and encompassment an artistic as well as a spirited photograph of her.

  • the horse is Toytown and yea it is good

  • yep.. she is very photogenic i also like the one's at 1/37 and 1/46...3/01...3/18

  • i think zara is an incredible woman and very beautiful.....i like some of those photos of her in that video ...im a bit jealous of the last two though! :(

  • nice video by the way awwfiddlestix ! (zara) :)

  • also if the horse pauses then, before a jump let say... do the judges take away points for style or something as well. is it what you mean by subjective and very detailed as well as technical....i havent got a clue? :)

  • if your in show jumping u dont get marked 4 style but if ur in a hunter class thats whats its all about. in showjumping u only lose points 4 knocking a jump, falling off, going ovr the set time limit or a refusal. if the horse pauses then jumps or hesitates or even tries to avoid the jump thats not a refusal. its only counted when the horse actually turns away {wow i think i sed 2 much!! sorry}

  • thanks for reply but i think in absolutes and go on a bit sorry!..... so if the horse back-tracked without turning around and suddenly rushed forward and jumped it and stopped momentarily before it back tracked..that would count as valid jump...but would be discounted on the style basis though.

  • Any movement backwards after a horse approaches a jump (ie the rider gets lined up to the obstacle) is considered a refusal. This is true in hunters, jumpers, and eventing. If a horse stops completely, then jumps from a standstill, this will be penalized in hunters and I believe jumpers. It will also be penalized in eventing except in cases where the horse is jumping an obstacle w/o height (a ditch, a bank down).

  • If the horse pauses before a jump, but never takes a step backwards and never loses forward momentum, its not penalized in jumpers or eventing (which are objective--get over the fence, style doesnt count). It would be penalized in the hunters, b/c it breaks up the smooth flow of the course. The horse is expected to maintain a rhythm and fairly constant speed around the whole course. Basically, it should look pretty to watch. A slight hesitation breaks that flow.

  • ok....its very convoluted and complex, who would be a judge eh! its alot to take on board and experience is the key factor. but i get your explanation and meanings now, thank you for sharing ths information,im beginning to grasp this concept now.... im a little slow thats all. :)

  • I think i would have to say xc is more of endurance and jumpers is speed.

  • Just love how that horse jumps!

  • whats a cookie cutter? and oncussoin and what is the difference between jumpers and hunters?????

  • i'm pretty sure that jumpers only jump while hunters are on the flat and over the jumps. i think. i've never really questioned the difference cuz every time i use those terms it's either hunter jumper or hunter on the flat.

  • thank you for information! and reply. :)

  • oh. and i guess a cookie cutter horse is a horse that's "bombproof" and never messes up.

  • i haven't got a clue about anything but there are some weird use of names for things in this sport! :) do you think zara personally chosen the name toytown or was picked by somebody else?

  • Hunters is often compared to figure skating, and jumpers to hockey. The hunters emphasize the horse's form over the fence, movement, rhythm, whether he takes off from the correct spot, etc. and is subjective and very detail-oriented. Jumps max out at 4 feet. The jumpers is judged on who can get over a very, very technical course the fastest. The jumps at Grand Prix are 5.5' and very wide.

  • Jumper course can be seen searching for "Laura Chapot and Little Big Man in the Jump-Off"

Hunters: search for "Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic Finals Round One"

Eventing has cross-country and a stadium jumping round, the latter of which is similar to show jumping, except the fences are smaller (max out at 4'1") and it is less-technical. The stadium phase is designed to test the horse's ability to recover after the rigorous cross-country, and still be responsive to the rider.

  • its all weired to me i dont understand the similarity with any name its a little confusing for a casual onlooker really. i know the faster you finish and how the horse jumps, its distance, style and all that but why the elaborate names!:) to an event rider its intrinsically known i guess...you guys know alot.

  • The names can sound a bit weird, but they make more sense when you understand where they come from. Show Jumping (jumpers) is named as it sounds, a jumping course at a show, its purpose is just to test the horse's jumping ability.

Hunters (show hunters) are also asked to jump, but it was originally based off testing horses used for fox hunting.

Eventing was traditionally held over 3 days, and was thus called a "three day event," and the name was then shortened to "eventing."

  • i dont know anything about horse events im just infatuated with zara philips!!!!!!!!! :) you guys know your stuff though!

  • mud always folows equestrian rider around i guess . great video

  • Oh and herheyluva my friend was riding when her horse fell and caused her to fall. As the horse was getting up it stepped on her snapping two of her ribs in half and lasurating her spline. She ALMOST died. And guess what!!! She's a hunter! I know this may suprise you but any equestrian sport is dangerous

  • Sry i had to type that in 2 different comment. It was too long! lol

  • So please everyone dont insult hunter jumpers and everyone else dont insult eventers We all work really hard to try to accomplish our equestrian goals Oh and if hunters is poise and XC is speed what is jumpers

  • jumpers..... positioning and speed? i guess.

  • No offense... Hunters have NOTHING on Dressage. In Dressage, your horse AND YOU are judged. :] So don't call hunters the "poise" discipline.

    Dressage is poise and elegance.

    XC is bravery and adrenaline.

Show Jumping is speed and courage.

I'm a little tired of reading so many comments on people saying "hunters is way harder than eventing", because i"m sorry, that's a THREE DAY EVENT.

Hunters is beautiful, but I surely do not agree with their technicalities they want their horses to be.

  • yeah go dressage!!!........and everything else!!!

  • Ive never done cross country so i don't know all that much about it ok? But i have done hunters and it is NOT easy Sure the jumps might be small some times but you are judged on every single move you make The smallest mistake can cost you in placing Its pretty nerve racing knowing someone is watching every move you make just waiting to find flaw with you

  • its scary to watch u jump over those"logs"

  • i know what you mean, she has no fear, she is incredible :)

  • thank you for reply zara you are naughty!

  • I LOVE YOU ZARA!

  • zara is awesome

  • she is a super woman!

  • Hahaha, money does not make a world class rider. I wouldn't be surprised if zara made this herself!! She does love looking at herself. lol!!!!

  • leave her alone !!!!

  • Tasty peach

  • Oh, jeez. ONLY 39th in the world. That's pretty BAD. I mean, I'm sure everyone else commenting here on youtube takes spots 1-38, right? Zara, why don't you just quit while you're ahead. Sell that "packer" that carries you around Badminton (while you just point and shoot, of course, because really, Badminton ain't all that hard when you're on Toytown), and take up something you might actually be good at, like knitting.

  • Thats really rude of you to say. Competeing at the higher levels you want safe experienced mounts, not toy rocking horses that you ride while you do you're knitting. Plus, everyone has to start from some where with their riding, you're not just instantly the best in the world.

  • That was all sarcasm. I thought it was obvious. I was making fun of the people who thought she was crap simply because she wasn't #1 in the world. As if 39th weren't something to be proud of.

  • love the sarcasm, any half wit would have worked out that u were being sarcastic lol

  • Shes a good rider!!!

  • oh crap thats scary! my name is zara and i love horses and i have blonde hair!!!!!

  • have u never heard of Zara Pillips????

  • i might have a couple years ago, but not much...^_^ lol
