lazy fuckers! i work 12 hour shifts, i work with ambulance service! we dont get to sleep! make them work for once! i pay taxes so they can be paid 28k a year to lie in their bed!
Support the firemen -its all due to corporate profits and selling out services now hard assets are sold. read this link -I had to type it in as wldnt let me paste so hope its right--start with the 3 ws then dot and businesseye.co.uk/stories/?=41&storyid=201 You will see all about assetCo and 20yr 400million pound contract with London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority . First firemen next ambulance services, police , even MOD. You need to stick together and support each other .
GOOD! This had to be done, when after the STRIKE last week, the Tory Government gloated publically that the strike had achieved nothing. So now the union has been forced to step up. They have been threatened to sign a new contract no questions or face the sack by Nov 14.And if they are sacked the Strike will go national.this is not about money or having a second job.
matt wrack earns £105,000 per year - he is totally unrepresentative of the average firefighter. He fails to give an answer as to why he has ordered a strike on Bonfire night; this is clearly a cynical move designed to ruin the public's enjoyment and celebration of the evening.
@charlesfisher757 The LFB commisioner is on twice that and could have prevented it from happening. Prior to the strike date being announced there was almost no media coverage. Matt's job is to protect his members not the public, but his members are committed to resolving this. Last night on Channel 4 news there was a commitment by the LFB Chair to meet - HE didn't show - the FBU did. Get the facts Charles - dont rely on selective bits from dodgy politicians.
@Cyd135 I understand firefighters need representation in order to avoid being exploited but why strike on Bonfire night? Why not the week before or the week after? They have the right to strike but I fear that unions across the country are striking unnecessarily in order to attempt to bring down a Tory government.
