Well, you are right... I am a long way from the original MIDI version. I was going for my own take on the tune, something that could be played in position 1 and was still recognizable even though not perfect.

There were some notes that seemed slightly disharmonious. Which isn't to say it's bad at all; it's quite good, but I think it has the potential for a small amount of approval. I'd give it 4 -4½ for that.

On the other hand, it's fairly complex, and easily the most unique take on that old classic, even seeming more 1680-y than the original. Definitely worth a five. Peculiar how it doesn't have more views, because it's really quite awesome.

It's a capo - sort of a clap that raises the pitch of the strings. It lets me match the key of the original song without having to resort to difficult chords. Some people call it a "cheat," but I think it's a useful tool.

Madmeir does indeed have a very nice classic guitar version of Monkey Island. His fingers really do fly... so fast the camera can't keep up! However, there is more than one way to bake a cake or play a MIDI classic.

Sorry, no, but you should be able to figure it out. Its pretty much all easy chords, just lots of changes - standard tuning, capo on 7th fret. I am playing a 9-string guitar here, and so the tune sounds just a bit richer than if played on a 6-string. Have fun with it.

Fingerstyle, and for the most part "dead thumb" style, but there are some other techniques mixed in for the sake of variety. There is a pretty good Blues in E that pops up if you search "dead thumb" in YouTube. This is sort of similar in style.

The neck says SigmaGuitars and the label inside says CF Martin & Company Model DM-12-4. As mentioned previously, this is a 12-string but I don't use octave strings on the 3 lower strings, so its a 9-string. Its no real Martin, but its OK.
