You must be far sighted or something. Because, without my glasses, i have 20/200 vision, but i can see 12-point fonts on my monitor easily from arms length away or so, maybe a little closer. I don`t generally wear my glasses, most of the time, but i need them if i`m waiting for a bus and want to see which bus is coming, or to see people clearly from a certain distance at night.
This is tough :( Have you thought about buying a projector and having your PC output to the wall? It would be huge. I agree you definately don't want to hunch over to read things. I hope you experience the Glory of God someday and he gives you new eyes.
I WAS TRYING TO SEE YOUR KEYBOARD AND THERE'S NO LETTERS. DO YOU HAVE A BRAILLE OVERLAY ON YOUR KEYBOARD? ALSO CONCERNING READING PRINT, AS AN ALTERNATIVE IDEA, MAYBE YOU SHOULD GET AN ADJUSTABLE MUSIC STAND SO THAT YOU CAN SIT UP STRAIGHT AND PUT THE BOOK ON THE MUSIC STAND. I CAN'T READ PRINT ANYMORE, BUT THE IDEA POPPED IN MY BRAIN SO I THOUGHT I'D JUST SHARE THAT.
Well, you certainly have better eyes than me. :). I have the additional problem that my retinas are damaged and no amount of correction will resolve that. :( Still, for anyone bashing you, they should experience visual impairment first hand. otherwise they are just ignorant fools. Whats even more fun for me, I have to wear scleral shells when outside. otherwise I would be in too much pain to function.
I'm legally blind also, but when I read, instead of leaning into the book, I sit up strate while holding the book right in front of me with my hands. : ) The one downside to that is that my arms get tired a lot!
This is a great video. I'm legally blind myself. My vision is about 20/600 in my better eye due to retinopathy of prematurity. I can't read regular print at all, but I can read large print if it's 20-24 font and I get close like you did. I use braille as well as there are situations when getting that close is not very practical. I'm a TVI so have to be flexible about how I access information while teaching, in meetings, etc. Plus, the back strain!
I really hope that when ignorant people watch your videos, they can grow in life a little more. I ran into your vids because I wanted some feed-back on iPod stuff
Retinopothy of Prematurity (ROP). I was born three months premature & totally blind. I was given an operation within the first few weeks (I think) of living & it improved my left eye. The right eye had already detached. The operation was such that we expected total vision loss later in life. It happened in 2005 temporarily. See "My Experience when I was Blind" for more details. My condition is so fragile that I'd rather not do anything unnecessary.
Just remember the name Bates because it might help. I wouldn't risk either if I had something like that, but if you're gonna have problems like this for the rest of your life, I'd research... I've got myopia and it cured me temporarily last summer (for very short time though)... W. Bates also mentioned that he cured a few blind patients, I would keep it in mind. Just helping you with information that I have.
I feel sorry for you. I would like to donate money to you to help you out with your surgerys. You look like a nice guy and I wish you luck on your eye sight. I know you having a hard time with it but hang in there and trust in Jesus because he can heal all things. God bless!
Thank you but at this point surgery would be too dangerous due to the fragility of my condition. My vision hangs on by a thread, even though it is stable.
i feel disrepectful asking this but, do you have your eyes closed or is it just the right one? with ur glasses on i mean,i have glasses to and they are a pain in the but sometimes
lol enough u have to deal with ur eyes almoust blind not enough that u become The Hunchback of Notre Dame, sorry i bach u last time with u being a f..blind f.... so no hardfeelings a IGor ...BYEEE
I was born blind. Surgery managed to "sew" (cryo surgery) my retina back in place but when the yfound out the left eye had worked, the right eye was gone.
The key words there were "the fragility of my condition". In other words, I'd rather keep the vision I have, rather than risk losing what I have in attempts to gain what I don't. The condition I have is very delicate. If I were to take a bullet to the head, and it missed my brain, I can just about guarantee you that my vision will definitely cease to exist.
well, there are operations, but there is a maximum, to what they can fix, its about 4-6 diopters afterwards, you cant do much with either lenses or an operation... (sucks)
It has gotten better over time but I don't take risks given the fragility of my condition. As far as YouTube videos? I use the magnifier. Or, I just put them on full screen & zoom out - the 13" monitor is plenty big to see it in full screen without a problem.

yeah,
try and get a doctor to get your eyes fixed,
isn't there an operation that can fix your eyes?
not to be mean.
contacts maybe?
;D

Blahfuwayne 3 years ago
Ah,
so, there's a limit on what they can do to fix someones sight?
that sucks!
acethem1 3 years ago
There is, and for me, it's too dangerous to attempt any type of operation. Contacts just made it worse.
