Nobody will download the mod for ArmA1 @ armaholic at the top of the mods list with 61,000+ hits and 15,000 downloads or for ArmA2 20,000+ views and nearly 10,000 downloads ( mind you all in beta form ). I guess nobody likes it although its one of the most popular threads on the BIS forums.

Units etc are the only reason most people play it, not because of the map (which is shit).

@C19owi94e People use it as they wish. I'm sure others share your opinion. I'm also sure some don't like the units but like the map. It's kind of the consensus with any mod as logic would give and people within the bounds of maturity would think within their own reasoning. People that can't deal with the map, shouldn't use it.

The ground texture isn't good. The map is completely bare unless you get to a town or find quite a lot of hedgerows, and is almost completely flat.

@C19owi94e Have you read the BIS forum threads? Only two ground textures were used, with a mostly dark sat mask for a dark looking scenery. The terrain is not flat. A 1m Space shuttle radar terrain tile was used for the terrain. This map contains more foilage then any map available for ArmA or ArmA2. In the real Normandy country side you will find some open areas just as this map has

Yes I have read the BIS forum thread, but not in the past month or so. The only reason it contains more foliage than any other map available is mainly down to the fact its alsmot 20x bigger (and bare). Doesn't justify why the map is almost completely flat either, it's not Holland.

It is flat. Only bits that aren't flat are the 3 or 4 hills around each town. And it is worth discussing, because if you don't, no one will download your mod...

@C19owi94e You don't have to download it do you? That is your choice. I am not worried about others downloading it either. That is their choice. And again, as you said, its flat with hills. :)

@rip31st let me say man i lvoe the mod but i agree the maps could be better , im not tryin to insult but as a matter of fact France has no dark ground =) its a pretty light country with sunshine and stuff, so i see also the map (normandy) is EXTREMLY huge, maybe just a guess it would be better off being smaller but with more detailed texture, i formyslef only make scenarios on chernaurus with the mod, but well anyways i appreciate you guys work, its a really awesome mod !
