  • Does anybody else out there hear more than a hint of Charlie Christian from "Live at Minton's"? Always knew this guy was good, but this is flat out smokin'

  • >_> INSANE.

  • Now I've seen it all, someone shoot me!

  • That was SO sweet!

  • i really want to have brents fingers. :D

  • 1 person is confused.com

  • Wow, that is simply command of time and groove.. God Brent can play..

  • Now THATS picking!

Just like my great uncle Chet Atkins; smooth, classy, and jazzy.

  • @HoleHeadedLiar judging from your username im going to assume you're lying about chet atkins being your great uncle

  • @ThankGodForCountry My username come from the first two tracks of Nine Inch Nails Halo 2: Head Like a Hole, and Terrible Lie.

No, I live less than an hour from Clinch Mountain in Tennessee (Jacksboro, if you're into specifics.) My grandfather and his family (the Byrges) were 'washed over from Luttrell in the great flood', to have heard him tell it. He was a distant cousin of Chet's, but my grandmother was his niece, and I met him at my grandmother's funeral.

  • Is that a fucking Fender neck? :O

I always believed it was a valley arts....

  • @SyverF The original was a Fender yep, the signature model is made by Valley Arts.

  • @mullbenkt Oh, thanks! :)

  • Wow! Tasty playin. just goes to show you what can be done with a tele in the hands of a master.

  • I could listen to this all day.

  • This man is incredible. Him and Scotty Anderson are the two guitarists more than any others that make me want to just hang it up.

  • his fingers never stop moving

  • smokin' but fender amp and telecaster isn't the best choice when playing bebob and swing.

  • @peelopuu

.... and you would know better? Who the fuck makes these rules?

  • @thebytegrill I don't know if it is the camera but Brent's sound has too much presence and treble and not much bottom end. For bebob that isn't the best sound and this performance left me feeling bit cold although brent plays very good(as always). Check some other Brent Mason videos and you know what I'm talking about.

  • @peelopuu My apologies for freaking out but I actually find it refreshing, kind of sick of that blunt big box tone. It's not 'traditional' by my ears are tired of tradition, the only tradition that's important is folks enjoying themselves and not getting ahead of themselves.

    Peace.

  • @thebytegrill Sure. Peace.

  • @peelopuu I didn't know there is a specific amp and guitar to play bebop and swing XDXD. Brent could play bebop with a Gibson Flying V and a rectifier and it would still sound great ;-)

  • @MalcaratMartinez You didn't know but now you do XD Well I mean more like that with mellow and dark sound bebob sounds right. Sure brent mason can still play the right notes but the sound isn't as full sounding as you would like it to be :p Mr. Trolololol ;)

  • smokin'

  • Top man in his field

  • Wow. Brent is out of control good.

    Ty for upping this.
