nope, it's a normal one. the switch on a LIGHT version has:

ON-OFF-LIGHT

this one has on/off only and, it doesn't say light next to GAME BOY. therefore, it's just a normal pocket one (MGB-001)

Okay, I have a really important question. I was going to do this to my gameboy, so I opened it up to take a look around and see what needs to be done. I put it back together and now the screen doesn't work!! Everything works fine, but the screen. All you can see is the black line when you turn it off.

How can I fix this?!?!

i know this might sound stupid but wats the difference between a gameboy pocket and the regular gameboy , and can the pocket play gameboy color games.

The Gameboy Pocket is just a regular Gameboy but reduced in size and with a slightly different screen (not green), it can't play GBC games.

@BboySnorlax757 @BboySnorlax757 Try putting a game like Donkey Kong Country or Super Mario Bros. Deluxe in a GB Pocket and see if it works (it won't). The only GBC games that work are the non-clear cartridge games, like Pokemon Yellow. The GBC is actually faster than the original GB, so games made for it specifically are not backwards compatible.
