A few other things: it has never been stated that HIV 'kills' cells, as a retrovirus is not even a living organism. HIV 'infects' cells, and the cell dies as a result.
You also state you do not understand that if the production of anti-bodies produces immunity to HIV, that AIDS then comes from this, which is of course ludicrous. This is what happens with all other diseases, but not with HIV infection. HIVd infects the very immune cells triggered to attack it, so no, there is no 'immunity' to begin with.
Also, you mention AZT, um there are over 40 drugs used to combat HIV now, none of which are anything like AZT in effect. This is 2007, not the 1980's, drugs, and our understanding of the disease have long since moved on from the argument you present.
Okay, just to provide some actual facts here. I agree with you that there are many factors involved in the development of AIDS, but HIV MUST be present, this is irrefutable scientific fact. No one has ever died of AIDS without this being the case.
There are many syndromes and diseases which are similar to AIDS, and yes, I believe have these the same etiology, but again, without HIV being present, you do NOT have AIDS. It is also scientific fact that if anti-retrovirals, which have NO other function other than to inhibit HIV replication, are given to those suffering from AIDS, the patient recovers.

HIV virus infects both B and T cells. It has been proven. Retroviruses (and all viruses) destroy cells on completion of their infection cycle. Viruses require host cells to grow. After the immune system takes enough of a brutalising from the HIV you develop aids. HIV leads to AIDS. It is a fact. Just it takes longer for some people.

There are many syndromes and diseases which are similar to AIDS, and yes, I believe have these the same etiology, but again, without HIV being present, you do NOT have AIDS. It is also scientific fact that if anti-retrovirals, which have NO other function other than to inhibit HIV replication, are given to those suffering from AIDS, the patient recovers.

HIV virus infects both B and T cells. It has been proven. Retroviruses (and all viruses) destroy cells on completion of their infection cycle. Viruses require host cells to grow. After the immune system takes enough of a brutalising from the HIV you develop aids. HIV leads to AIDS. It is a fact. Just it takes longer for some people.
Crossland should STFU just a little more because all he's displaying is blatent ignorance.

HIV enters the body, and infects many T cells over a period of time. over 10 or 20 years it infects most T cells in the body, and destroys them at some point in time. This reaction creates AIDS. The next time a pathogen enters the body, and there are no T cells to defend the body, the person dies.

This causes your immune system to breakdown enough to manifest AQUIRED immunodeficiency syndrome. People die from complications from AIDS... just as in cancer. What kills cancer patients is metastases (spreading of the disease).

Visible symptoms of the disease only appear after many years, making it easier for people not to accept that HIV will eventually cause AIDS. Then again, the idea of reexamining the evidence regarding the causes of AIDS may provide hope that if a cause other than HIV is identified, a cure might more readily be found.

AIDS, in particular, is a disease that lends itself to the perpetuation of myths and to different forms of denial. For example, myths that deny the existence of AIDS can respond to people's emotional needs or to a desire to reassure themselves that they can avoid changing their behaviour. HIV is transmitted through behaviours that are essentially private.

The argument that HIV does not cause AIDS by Professor Peter Duesberg was rejected by scientists, but attracted attention in the mainstream press and found resonance with specific groups outside the scientific community. For example, his attribution of AIDS to specific lifestyle choices found favour with parts of society, especially those critical of the gay movement.
