  • if Asians were there surely they will be first... :)

  • People whine about Americans using steroid, those who think their countryman are not using or haven't used are total morons! If one countryman has used you can be assured that one or more have used once upon a time in their athletic careers to achieve their goal. Jamaican's been found doping, Russians, Great Britain, Canada, Cuban, etc. So get your heads out of your asses, and stop being a hater. So.. speak on what you know. Do you know what goes on in their homes and in their locker room???

  • stop fuckin repeting dis shit

  • Where's Jamaica?

  • The third leg of lane 1 and 2 are standing on the wrong side of the triangle?

  • Brasil could have won this one if they just passed the baton correctly to the last runner.... the first 3 ones were top-class.... damn :-(

  • @Gauchoo1234 You're right, Brazil's first two exchanges were superb, but even if the third and last exchange was as good, they still wouldn't have won. At 27 seconds into the race, you can see USA have a 1.5 metre lead which wouldn't have been closed up much at all after the stagger of the bend. Plus Greene was faster than Da Silva - Greene pulls away in the last 50m

  • @speedyslime93 I still think Brazil had a minimal chance to win. Claudinei Quirino, our last man, was at his best back then, finish constantly in top 3 in 200m, and if he had received the batton faster, like 3 or 4 steps ahead (yes, the last passing was terrible :-( I think he had a chance to hold Greene - who knows?

Anyway, USA run almost to perfection on this one, well deserverd accolades!

  • Aww they didn't show them celebrate and put on a show for the audience after the race.

  • they would be beaten to a pulp by the Jamaican team right now.

  • @keonist but not the team from stuttgart 1993! they ran 37.40 in the rain in the semi-final with burrel slowin down in the last 20m!!

  • @puljacina so you really think that team can beat a Jamaican team of Carter, Blake, Bolt, Powell? yeah right keep dreaming.

  • @keonist I would hope that they were beaten since it would be what? Eleven years later and the sport has progressed so much. Teams of 2000 don't compare to teams in 2011. Records have been shattered since then.

  • look at those us boys run !

  • wat r on about basil came first!!

  • BRASIL WINS... THE BEST ! usa allways doing the same !

  • I reckon if Ato adopted the US team and ran with Mo, they probably would have broken 37.4

  • its cool how the 4*100m is the fastest distance of all running. 37.40/4 =9.35 per 100m. wonder what kind of time you´d have if you had 4 usain bolts. i bet it´d be below 9s per 100m.

  • That's interesting. If 4 Bolts, the first leg would be his current time +.2 for the curve, then three flying legs about a second under his best, with another +2 for the other curve. That WOULD average 9, wouldn't it? 35 point!!!

  • if you look at bolts 200m time im pretty sure he ran better than 9.5 for both 100's. i think it'd be lower

  • Well Powell does around a 8.45 in his leg of the race. It's been proven. Powell is the fastest relay runner that ever was

  • @Rothmannjester An even more amazing anchor leg in the 4 x 100 was Bob Hayes. All the way back in '64, Hayes took off as anchor in third place, and well behind the leaders. He corked out , at the slowest estimate for the flying start, an 8.94. That was for a long time, the fastest anchor leg, like up until Carl Lewis tied that in LA.

  • @Parker528

It was also on a cinder track.

  • @IvorySk8r Good point!

  • Damn they are great!!! Wow Amzed 0.o

  • Why it a same that Jamaica smash the world record . They are just good.

  • DOPPING FOR US

    brasil is the champion!

  • America's second hand-over was perfect, totally textbook. In fact I'd go as far to say that change probably won them the world record. Shame Jamaica had to smash in 8 years later (lol)

  • Umm are you completely oblivious to the fact that the US relay team had to give back thier medals for this Olympics, since Tim Montgomery was found to be a drugs cheat? So it is fair to say that this record should not have stood either.

  • I see what you're saying, I don't remember reading all of them had to give back their medals, and officially the race still stands, but again, I get what you're saying

My only rebuttal would be that Montgomery wasn't on the finals team so they probably would have had the same result without him

  • ap12345 haha can u not state the most fuking ovious comeone u can be tht fukin stupid and any way asafa powell has clokd 9.65 in a training race and bolt has clokd 9.69 and thts it

  • USA: The kings of the doping and drugs.

The gold medal, in Sydney, goes to Brazil

    37.90

  • NOT!!!!!!

  • gold to brazil o/

  • Okay I want someone to tell me who is the fastest man and woman and how fast they both go (The fastest man and woman that don't cheat with drugs...)

  • I'm not sure about fastest woman (slipped my mind) but the fastest man is Usain Bolt with a time of 9.69 in the 100 meter

  • The fastest woman ever, Florence Griffith-Joyner died when she was sleeping, she suffocated in her pillow during a severe epileptic seizure. She was 38 years old.

Some say due to enhancing drugs, other say that was a congenital defect.

Before the 1988 season, Griffith Joyner's best 100 meter time was 10.96 seconds. In 1988 she (was 29) improved that by 0.47 seconds to a time that no one has approached since, 10.48s.

Nowadays she is the record holder. Both in 100m and 200m.

  • yeh cos she used steroids probably. aint beleivin no other story, nobody improves there best times by such a margin in such a relatively short space of time!!

  • Drugs simply don't make that much of an improvement in running. They shave only a few 100ths of a second off at best, not half a second. Perfecting her technique a long with optimal strength and conditions would play a part too, but Flo Jo was too fast for it to have just been drugs, if there were drugs at all.

  • Usain Bolt is the fastest man in 100m and 200m with 9.69 in 100 and 19.30 in 200m. in terms of sprints, he is fastest.... and pretty much overall if u ask some ppl =P

  • usain bolt 100m 9.58 and 200m 19.19

Flo Jo is still holds the female record

  • Flo Jo suddenly decided to retire from athletics as soon as the IAAF decided to do random doping tests.

  • @eXodusVV I love Flo Jo but you're right......10.49 (faulty reading) ..10.54 oylmpic finalsand no women has come close since.......even Jones best times were around 10.6s.....

  • @eXodusVV its funny how everyone talks about Americans drugging...but has anyone noticed the SWIFT UPRISING OF Jamaicans.. This video is from 2000 and there is no Jamaican team, and then in 2008...both men and women's sprinting was dominated by Jamaicans? And ALL 3 of the fastest races had the world record broken by Jamaicans?

  • @Clemsonshawty the swift of uprising of Jamaica is as a result of the IAAF clamping down on the doping in the sport, hence it is becoming a more fair battlefield and the Jamaicans are having their time to shine.

  • @eXodusVV Look at how her records have stood the test of time with no one coming close. I really think they can't be broken. I think she was drugged.

  • asafa powell.

  • Why don't you simply stop replying? This isn't about the fastest ever, again you said would have. Since you like living in the past, The U.S. has the most sprint titles, Olympics/Worlds...world records ever, the greatest sprint country ever, no country is close., match that.. now there it is ...LOL

  • 2008 Jamaicans would have smoked that team by half a second..

  • Would have never counts for anything, coulda, woulda....shoulda. what does 2000 have to do with 2008 LOL

  • do you know how to read a stopwatch time? 2008 Jamaicans half second faster than 2000 americans...

  • You're kidding right? I coach track & field, I could read a stop watch in my sleep...LOL That has nothing to do with your fantasy of what would have been..LOL By the way .Jamaica was in that race in 2000 stop living in the past..LOL

  • I feel sorry for the kids you coach

    USA 2000- 37.61

    Jamaica 2008- 37.10

    Jamaica- +.51 faster

maybe you should try reading a stopwatch while awake...

  • you're assuming something here, that I coach kids, which is beside the point. Also no need to feel sorry LOL...just stop living in the past, again Jamaica didn't run that time in 2000, so your would have it just that, a would have. You don't match times from year against another. But maybe you do. Also they didn't use a stop watch, they used FAT timing. LOL

  • yeah, they match times from one year against another all the time. it's called setting world records. something that Jamaica did in 2008 and this 2000 usa team didn't get close to...

you're pretty dumb.. has a nice day..

  • I'm dumb, but you stated has a nice day...LOL

They don't match anything, Jamaica ran in 2008 in China against the teams that were in China. Again you stated would have LOL. maybe what would have happened if the U.S. didn't drop the stick, see would have...LOL

  • why do you keep discussing this? are you jon drummonds mom or something? actually even she would know that jam is faster.

jamaica 2008 is by far the fastest relay team in the history of this world. no one is close, imbecile.

two decent sub 10 sprinters + 2nd fastest man ever + fastest man ever and there it is..

  • You're also the one who tried to clown the U.S.. with your comments, again what does Jamaica running in 2008 have to do with the U.S. in 2000. When Jamaica men can get anywhere near what the U.S. has done in this sport, then you can talk, Jamaica not even 2nd all time medals, world records...LOL...hater

  • you sound like you're mad that jamaica has the best sprinters ever.. jamaican men have

already surpassed what any american men have done.. do u read the news? Bolt has 3 wr's.. no american, or earthling, is remotely close to what he has done..

tell u something else.. per capita america is only average in medal achievements.. cuba, jamaica, australia, holland these are the nations that have the best athletes per capita.

  • LOL....Jamaica not even 2nd on the all-time list in gold medals or world records...jealous hahaha...Jamaican women have out done y'all men in the history of the sport. Bolt was THE only man who did anything...LOL

per capital what a joke, that's never taken into consideration when competing and the medal count, only folks like you, who look for excuses..LOL

  • you're so stupid. Jamaica has 2.5 million people.. there are more people than that in san jose, ca.

    gold medal ratios-

jamaica- 1 medal per 50,000 people

usa- 1 medal per 1 million people

  • hahaha....you know what, the only people that matter are the athletes competing, not the one's who aren't, be it in Jamaica or San Jose...LOL

So again what happened in 2000 has nothing to do with 2008 and also THE FACT...Jamaican women have out performed Jamaican men...period. Any more lame excuses...LOL

  • excuses for what, idiot? you are the one making excuses. everything i stated was fact. you state a bunch of retarded comments that you mostly pull from your ass.

    Jamaica- 37.10

    USA- 37.40

and Jamaica got bad hand-offs.. look for the record to fall further this year...

    bye-bye, retard

  • Two different years, Hahaha U.S. still has more bronze medals than Jamaica men has gold. Carl Lewis himself has more.... LOL. Since you have 2 different years, the U.S. has more world records in the 4x100 than Jamaica period. Y'all women again got more props than the men. You see again you wanna try and clown the U.S. with that. Jamaica was in that race in 2000, what happen...LOL

  • Oh I see you wanna add your weak 2 cents, just simply look at the histor of the sport...U.S. the greatest sprint country ever...period, no one even close..Usain Bolt did his thang, but still not even close to making Jamaica men 2nd in gold medals in history, maybe Asafa could do something..LOL

  • that was me, beenoon.. i was on my friends account..

no, did i talk about the history of track, moron? i said '08 jam relay faster. you siad '00 usa was.. you proved yourself buffoon.. i proved myself correct

anyways, you're a dumbass that knows nothing about track... see ya..

  • I never said the U.S. was faster, simply look back at all the comments...LOL...now just look in the mirror, you'll see the baboon, I mean buffoon ...LOL

I said Jamaica was in the 2000 race, well at least they were listed....LOL

Try having your women run against our men LOL...just change the men's to Usain Bolt, that's all y'all got

  • and try telling your family of apes that you actually almost communicated with a human today... and next time i find the missing link i'll let you know..

until then i've had enough of your incoherent gorilla grunts.. it was amusing for awhile, but it's old now...

  • LOL....you're the immature person, with the name calling, remember retartded, stupid and others, it's there to see. That's more of a reflection on you, none of that has anything to do with the subject, the would have been. Don't lose sight of that, you thought I stated the U.S. time was faster than Jamaica, you were wrong on that. It's plain what I stated, don't bring a knife to a gun fight...LOL

  • owned

  • were only good at the 400 and 4x400 in other events were not as strong

  • Go suck out yu mumma PUSSYHOLE

  • Well lets look at People like Lagat (originally Kenyan) Sanya Richards (originally jamaican) Please the list can go on. If the US stops paying people for citizenship to win medals for them then maybe they'd have more legitimate medals (lets not get into the doping scandals)

Then to compare the size of Jamaica and US is ridiculous. If you went to any 8th grade math classes work out the ratios of track stars versus population size in Jamaica and you can see clearly that Jamaica comes out ahead.

  • Relays are the best part of running.!

Cant believe cheats like montgemory arent in prison.

  • 0:05 cue chariots of fire lol

  • Its called the upsweep.

  • thats nothing compared to the jamaicans in beijing when they broke the record.

  • jeeez give them a break!

  • lol britain is the worlds best baton passes look at athens 2004 final relay they had 10.09 runners where as america had 9.7 runners? britain is nuffin without there passes.. jamaica just rely on speed so dus america!

  • I've done some research bout the baton exchanges... Thailand is one of the best baton exchanges in the world, with average 10.4 & 10.5s runners, still clocked a time of 38.8s in 2002....

  • why do the runners start off at different positions?

is it because of the track and how made?

  • it is because the turn is longer so the first lane starts back by the line because he has a shorter turn

  • oh god... because they run at curve... a shorter turn for the inner lanes...

  • also because it depends on which hand the runner has the baton. if you have the baton or are going to receive the baton on your right hand you will run on the inside of the lane. and whoever gets it on their left hand will have to start and run on the outside of the lane. for an easier exchange. that way the runners will be on opposite sides of the lane. therefore they wont run into each other. and the exchange is smooth, fast and safe.

  • yeah its also bend runners run inside, straights are run on the outside

  • OMG!

i need to master the handoff part..

ANyone know if facing your palm down or up is better to receive the baton?

  • why are the other runners in the back of the first runner?

  • Comment removed

  • It makes me wonder how many other American athletes have taken the same illegal measures along the game's history and been favored with golden medals and millionaire sponsorships and endorsements !!!

Shame on you American athletes !!!!!!!

  • No wonder why USA often wins in Track & Field.

Tim Montgomery has just confessed taking illegal enhancing drugs. Not the only one, other American men and women have confessed doing the same shameful thing. They should be put away in jail for cheating and totally disrespecting the game's spirit, especially disrespecting other competitors.

  • JAMAICA HAS WON THE 4x100m REALY IN A NEW WORLD RECORD OF 37.10

  • yeah but u should say the men, the women were DNF why? There is realy a CURSE in Beining China for this year's Olympics!!

  • Yeah, but we all know 37.10 is unattainable by any women´s quartet put together, yo. Atleast, not in this century.

  • i know i think it is a relay curse for this year olympics

  • nooo!!! really!!!

  • i used to be such a USA track fan but im sick and tired of this disappointing shit thats happening now

  • why does the US always have a problem with the Baton exchange, last olympics the same shit happen

  • They don't have good coaching. They also probably don't practice the exchange enough

  • @tallbr0 It's usually credited to the US not choosing the 4 men for the final relay until the last minute at an event, sometimes waiting until after semifinals are run to determine the fastest 4 to run final. Haveing a determined set of 4 would allow those 4 in advance to practice passes and work out any problems beforehand. The GDR always had a set group of 4 women for the final & were able to practice well in advance & were known for efficiency and success with passing.

  • sad news for usa in 4x100 there out both men and women dropped the batton!!

  • To be fair, none of the USA runners in this race ever tested positive to drugs. Tim Montgomery who ran for them in the heat admitted to doping and using drugs.

The 4 guys in this race are all great legit runners.

  • The last brazilian handover took away Brazils chance for gold.

  • Who's this non English speaking dude posting crap. Nigeria was second and USA first. We were just awarded the gold in the 4X400 relay. I'm sure eventually, Nigeria would be awarded gold in this one too.

    Nigeria we hail thee, son.

By the way, radamantissp, don't they have an Español version of Youtube?

  • eu vi esta prova...

    resultado:

    1-EUA

    2-BRAZIL

    3-CUBA

  • even I could run under 13 in the 110m hurdles if i got on steroids!

  • No offence, Point of correction, Nigeria came second not brazil(now first). The mistake isn't for your fault, but that of dum commentator with swallow knowledge of Geography who refer to Nigeria as "green white green".

  • Sorry man, I didn't understand...You said Nigeria came second not Brazil? Actually Brazil DID come second, there's no mistake. The commentator just messed up the colors...

    Regards!

  • what you talking about??? the brazilian team finish in second. Nigeria's team wasn't in the finals. The "dum" commentator was right because he had a list with him in the paddock. Now, he said "Greene" many times, from Maurice Greene, not green, the color.

  • No, he wasn't wrong! It was Brazil who came in second, it is 4 x 100 relay!

It is NOT 4 x 400 relay, in that case, now Nigeria is the first.

And I have heard the commentator saying Greene and not Green.

  • Drug cheats.

  • Three of the four Americans have been busted for steroids & the medals stripped but i`ll bet that fact doesn`t matter to Americans.

  • Ha yeah, its just win at ALL costs for the yanks. How could you live with yourself knowing that you only won by cheating, where the pide in that? It goes against the whole point of sport and the games.

  • Well stated! With the self righteous, holier-than-thou attitude. Have you heard of Dwain Chambers? Cheaters abound, and they are not limited by nationality.

  • Yeah I have, he's a cheating ****.

I can't really tell from your post if you're being sacastic or not, so I'm not gonna say owt else.

  • where did they cheat?

  • I dont mean specifically in this race, but to drug cheats in general.

  • great britian never cheated in this race only that wanker was doping

  • o.k forgive me if im missing something, but what is with all stop, start shit... are we looking for a cheat...jeez

  • what is this video trying to prove?

  • i have never ran a 100, i am more of a middle distance runner, i ran the 400,800, and the 200 hurdles

  • ive never ran the 100m before ill have to time myself or so.

  • my 100 is 10.8

  • Looked like USA broke.

  • im an idiot its in the beginning

  • you're idiot , I when i was 15 , i ran faster than you :P

  • so that doesnt make him an idiot

  • muy buen video

  • nobody could ever stop MO GREENE baby!!!!

  • USA is the best damn look at that shit

  • green's a beast

  • I still believe as a whole Texas States are the roughest... Virginia also... I'm from New Jersey so no bias pick over here...

  • an thats quick i can get 11.5 on the 100 and im a freshman. i like the 200 better though 23.5 is my best in that.

  • well go suck a dick! Nobody on youtube beleives or even cares what you can do so STFU

  • dude shut up i didnt ask for your opinion

  • Your 200m time should be quicker than double your 100m time.. work on your speed endurance and you'll be flying under 23 seconds, my friend has run 11.2 with 22.6 200m pb so is in the same situation as you!

  • yeah that will help with my 400 too.

  • No it shouldnt....

  • nice job

im nearly 15 and i can almost run 12.1s

    keep working tho

  • yeah whatever!

  • Running 20 meters, I guess - good job, guy.

  • Running 20 meters, I guess - good job, guy.

  • for 100? if so than you r lying look at an olympic 100m time it is in the 9 seconds area so it is imposible for you to run 9.5 when you are 9 years old...see my point!!!!!

  • im from a small private school... (250 in the high school) in texas and we ran a 42.0... i guess thats pretty good.

  • no way 42.9 would win state in illinois, not with east st. louis and cahokia, cahokia runs a 41.14

  • what is the correct term? in my school we call it handoffs not handovers

  • it's both there really is no correct way

  • back in 98' 4 of my teammates, ran hte 2nd fastest time in the 4x100 in state, they ran i believe what was a 41.9........they took 4th

  • what are u tryin to prove

  • yeah ?? wha are you trying to prove ha??

  • shut the hell up we ran it in 43.7, but i'm white so...

  • we ran a 42.9 in highschool and we are all juniors so we should run a 42 flat next year.

  • damn wat state u from if u don't mind me asking... in IL which isn't really known for its sprinters more competitive in distance but our state qualifying mark for the highest class is i believe 44 flat 44.5 for ours... you would deff take 1st in IL

  • Florida. last saturday was our first track meet and we ran 42.32 with bad handoffs

  • love the aussie commentating

  • im 14 and my team can run about a 49.76 and i was wondering if anyone else my age could get around there or better

  • im 15

    our teams best is 46.5

  • 8th grade ares is 48:97

  • "tariqziyad", did you learn portuguese only to write this shit, you sucker?

  • They got murdered by the Brits in Greece though!

  • talk about indepth analysis. very rigerous

  • unites states is the best

    brasil...........xxxxx

  • ur right about the usa team but u cant call slow asses anyone of the other teams cuz im pretty sure ur slower than all mens in that track

  • wow wtf rofl?

  • means What The Fuck and Rolling On Floor Laughing.

  • greens a wanker

  • Ha! That's what I heard.

  • brazil is very good

  • brazil chupa

  • "green's a wanker" ...loud and clear

  • Greene's a wanker....lol (anchor I hope)

  • My Frat Jon drummond did a hell of a start....yo NUPE!

  • yo tambien corro asii!!
