Damm, what happened to Chris Cornell? This guy went from Seattle Grunge rock hero to Audioslave rock god then on to some strange solo pop music now back to Soundgarden in the year 2012?? This guy has had an interesting career :)
@jetrage69 I read an interview before that Cornell was always a fan of old R&B music and that's what he was influenced by with his vocals. Rather than Led Zeppelin like a lot of people assume. Don't know how much of that is true but it makes sense. Great musician either way!
@TheRealVonHamish for me it makes sense that both rock and r&b influenced his vocals and his music in general. A good singer/musician listens to many genres because they all have good stuff to offer. And Chris is damn good. I, for example, have both Celine Dion and Nightwish in my laptop. I have both Marylin Manson and Mozart. I love rock but I enjoy a good ballad. I don't mind of Chris listens to electronic, or even pop. He's still great.
for the people saying this is terrible please open yourself up to more genres jeez stop being obsessed with soundgarden and audioslave this is HIS solo album and he could do whatever he pleases to do and i enjoy that he switched it up and did hip hop it would be better if more artists would be more creative and expand what they do instead of doing just one genre,
You guys do realize that Chris Cornell made this move because he wanted to branch out to different areas to broaden his horizons and not be typecasted into a hard rock stereotype? I applaud thee, Chris. Scream was a great album!
awesome track, his voice suits, turned his back on rock? bah. He's just doing the solo type thing right now thats all. Testing the waters, sounds better then most of the pop tracks on the radio on his first real atempt, good on him i say.
@drnrg31 turned his back? youve never tried out anything different in your life? read the story on how tim and cornell came to recording this record jackass
Jackass? What are you like 3 years old? That's my opinion. If you are so threatened by it. then take a chill pill. I'm just saying that rock and 80's (Duran Duran) should stay away from Timbalake. In the end ,he doesn't help thier career.

@caueputtinato look in the lyrics, it has lots of meaning, his acoustic version on his "Songbook" album is superb.

Agreed. While it's not my favorite, I believe this still holds some musical merit.

I thought it was because he really wanted a number 1. But either way he has an incredible voice and whatever he is singing it will sound amazing.

@ElectronicFreebies Scream is one of my favorite albums. Have to listen to it at least once a week. :)

I support whatever musical avenue Chris decides to explore and chooses to express himself, as long as he is doing it for the right reasons.
