  • huh ive never gotten a surge protector b4...odd

  • "Joules" means nothing in surge protection - it's an out dated, very vague performance claim and can be misleading. The "brick" as he calls it is the transformer which coverts the AC to DC. Also, EMP stands for electro magnetic pulse. The typical $15-$45 or so (probably even more) surge strip will start to degrade in about 6 months if you've got any type of power quality issues...and you'll probably never know it's bad.

  • lol cute vid

  • old movie

  • This is good to know. Thanks for posting this video!

  • Lightning produces EMP. Electro Motive Pulse

EMP causes a huge magnetic field to expand from the lightning arc outward then collapse back again.

When this field crosses metal. Current in induced in the metal. Power lines, phone lines, etc are like huge antennas so to speak to this effect.

  • Lightning does not actually have to hit a line or cable to cause damage. In fact in most cases where we get damage from storms. Lightning it's self never actually touched the damaged equipment or the cables and wires connected to it.

  • Yeah the block converts 118V AC - 125V AC (give or take, they are all different) to 6V DC - 12V DC (give or take). You can buy a nice Belkin Power Supply that supports receptacles, phone lines, and cable lines and had a $150,00 all connected equipment warranty for about $30.00. Things like the UPS Chris was talking about costs more.

  • ac to dc transformer reterfrier.

  • chris. can i have voice in the irc

  • electro will travel through air, if its mean enough!

  • Yeah, according to Dell, that is the reason that the industry has officially changed the name from laptop to Notebook computers. The bottom gets hot, it it burns then you have a problem

  • Yes, all laptops get hot dude.

  • i have a dell e1505, the hard drive gets reallt hot when on AC power, is that normal?

  • i have a dell e1505 and the hard drive really gets hot when on ac power, is that normal??
