Ahahahahah... "I could stop saying 'cool' so many times".
You're a good teacher, Justin. I'm Italian, but I can easily understand everything you teach, and I think that it doesn't matter if you say 'cool' too many times ;)
JUSTIN man..what would I do w/o your teaching. My father plays guitar and he was a music teacher but for some reason I cant stand his teachings lol yours is COOL (like you say in the video) lol

Justin, love your videos but this just confirms how much I hate 12 bar blues. Any musician who starts playing 12 bar in a jam with me kills the relationship.
Because the blues grew out of the disenfranchisement and social immobility of a people, and that same melancholy and restriction applies to the blues itself. If you try to break out of the blues rhythm, it is no longer the blues and generally sounds bad. That said, if you don't have a need for a wide array of expression, I don't see how any guitarist could not like the blues even with its shortcomings (shortcomings which guys like B.B King used to their strength, and look how he sounds).
@Caboose68 haha me too.. when people hear me play and ask me how long I play, I say, 7 months. theyre like, what only 7 months?? Did you get a teacher? Yes, Justin Sandercoe. He teaches the world for free.
...And everyone is like "No way, you got THAT good by free lessons??" lol.

Is a good idea to just use down picking for rhythm blues?
mygoodnessmyguiness 2 years ago
I love to only use down picking when i play Jimi Hendrix!
ArianRohani 2 years ago
Doesn't matter. As long as you still are able to do the technique you are skipping (guess upstrokes here?)
Just make sure you are able to do an alternate strumming pattern for when it will be needed... Dunno, like reggae or something...
