I had a nearly complete He-Man collection, Ninja Turtles, Voltron, GI Joe, etc etc. I think I would be a rich(er) motherfucker now had I kept all of them and sold them today instead of 15 years ago.
LOL, this is funny, watching two grown men with their toys, but I shouldn't talk, I had some of those same toys, and I still have the Stay Puff Marshmellow man, both the Action figure and the big doll :)
when you look back like this, it becomes so painfully obvious how all those old cartoons were just trying to sell stuff to little kids. The themesongs for those cartoons might as well have just been "buy all our playsets and toys!" like the cheat commandos
This reminds me of when my dad would break out his old toys and let us play with them for a day. He had that same Voltron and some of the Gobots and some Transformers. He also had Centurions, ExoSquad, and Chuck Norris figures.
hell yeah I think those ghostbusters are the same ones me and my bro had with their headquarters aswell. Kicked ass with that red fireman pole which you made them fall down with XD
MY GOD!!! THANK YOU MIKE!!! I STILL HAVE Vultron and, to tell you the truth, forgot that was his name. You have the EXACT same one I have that I got as a kid!!! GOD BLESS YA MIKE!!! Somehow I KNEW you were the kind of guy into this kind of thing!!!
Voltron was the shit when i was little. I wonder who'd be the winner between a fight between the Voltron team vs. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers ( you pick which season)? The vehicles- I know the space explorers couldn't go hand-to-hand.
What was the name of the that other Voltron rip-off that had like 16 vehicles?
That damn thing reminded me of a massive car pileup on an expressway in Buffalo in January or something...
Dam it, I had most of those toys, I had a shit load of He-Man figures, almost every one on the back cover. But the legs, man those fucking legs would break for no reason, hold together by a cheap piece of rubber. Anyway, I almost cried out of nostalgia.
I remember my brother having some of those same figures. He had a lot of the He-Man ones and all of the Voltron lions. I used to love putting Voltron together and then taking it apart. Good times.
You guys overlooked the tremendous moustache-ride of the He-Man collection there in the back...FISTO! I can't belive you neglected FISTO. FISTO, FISTO, FISTO!!!
even though i'm 12 and I watch AVGN because hes fucking funny, I always wanted the original Unicron toy. Because when I was 2 I used to LOVE Transformers.
Gah! you didn't talk about the technodrome that you had there! I've had some ninja turtle toys, my only he-man toy was the guy where you could the gears through his body and you could change his fist for weapons. My brother had a lot more toys including the Cobra Terror dome, I had the Tomahawk. Oh and we had a few Transformer toys to! I had the silver airplane from the go bots! But the wings broke off.
James, what makes people want to see your videos? Do they like old video games? Maybe. Do they want to get remembered of their own past / childhood? Probably. But that's not enough for all that views... In my own words, I guess it's because you seem to be the nicest guy in the world. Not arrogant, not ignorant, just a great, friendly and true character, someone lots of people would love to be friends with... And somehow that's what makes me turn onto your clips again and again... :-)
this made me think of something, Even though i love video games and CG movies, it seems as if Cartoons and toys are being phased out, which is extremely sad i mean im only 19, but i still grew up with toys and cartoons mostly, stuff like titan A.E. and Treasure Planet would never make it to theatres in this day and age and if they did they wouldnt have sold as well, and thats just super upsetting, being i wanna be an animator and such..
@sobekflakmonkey Animation is definitely at a low-point right now, but it was like that during the 60's, too. So long as passion exists for hand-drawn animation, it'll exist, as will the possibility of someone coming up and leading to a renaissance of it all.
As for toys...well, they have to compete with video games. But, I think that there are too many toy collectors for toys to go obsolete. Also, who doesn't want a car that turns into a robot? ^_^
I have Voltron, but hes missing an arm :/, I also have ALL of the Ghost Busters, I used to have the car you mentioned and the building, but sadly they are lost to time
That is a nice collection, Mike! You have all four of the original Real Ghostbusters action figures! Sweet! All I ever had from that series was Winston but he was cool. Most of those action figures and video clips bring back so many freakin' memories, omg! I look forward to seeing you TMNT collection! Hold onto all of them and keep them safe and in good condition. Trust me - I have for the past 20 years.
What an awesome collection! I bet he loves showing off his collection to people and getting to share all the figures' gimmicks, backgrounds and stories. It's one of the many joys of being a collector :)
Wow this bring back memories, I used to have some of those very same toys in my house, here in Argentina. Lucky us who had such great cartoons to wach in our childhood... Awesome video :P
I had ALL the He-Man figures Mike has....and then some ( I pretty much had ALL of them, with castle greyskull! XD and Skellator's castle). I had Beast Man...XD
Nice collection, my brother had a bunch of those He-Man figures along with Castle Greyskull. For me though it was Ninja Turtles. I think I had close to 40 of them when I eventually gave them away to my cousin.
i was wondering if u could tell me if thees were worth any money i have a original 1979nor 80 starwars action figure set with every one in in a crying case
Remember Starriors? Those were cool. Oh! Oh! Oh! ROCK & BUG & THING!! XD Those things were WEIRD! I liked the bugs best. Always had a thing for bugs. Insect-themed Go-bots were my faves. And of course, Sectaurs. And cephalopod-themed Battle Beasts (squid, octopus, etc.). Boglins were also weirdy. Weird is rad. Remember those ball things that were like creatures except they were...balls? Can't remember what those were called. There was an eyeball named Oculus Orbus.
i had that Bad To The Bone figure, and i accidently flushed his head down the toilet, and it RUINED the plumbing in that bathroom for years, haha seriously
I had every He-Man figure and almost every set, we had a fire and although still good they smelled real bad and the parents threw them away. They were sorry later because we reminded them about it enough apparently. We even had the bone dinosaur that carried a bunch of the figures and some of their gear in its mouth.
Awesome! Between me & my brother we had tons of He-Man figures (He-Man, Skeletor, Battle Armor He-Man & Skeletor, Ram Man, Beast Man, Stratos, Roboto, Trap Jaw, Triclops, Stinkor, Man-E-Faces, Ju-Jitsu, Fisto, Buzz Off, Castle Grayskull, Snake Mountain, etc). We also were big collectors of Go-Bots & even got the rarely found Turbo. Unfortunately we barely had any Transformers or Real Ghostbusters. But we did have some Thundercats. I wish so many of them wouldn't have gotten thrown out.
I wish I had the foresight as a young boy to take care of all my action figures. I would have a collection that surpasses Mike's. I love the trip down memory lane, though!
It's amazing how these guys kept 95% of their games (videos games, board games, consoles), toys, magazines, childhood videos, and old underrated movies in their time in mint condition for 2 decades or so.
Wow, I recognize a lot of these toys from my brother's collection. They are probably all in some plastic container in the garage right now, they probably aren't in very good condition either because I had a tendency to destroy whatever I touched when I was a child, lol.
I remember my action figures for the show Centurions (POWER EXTREME!) I had Doc Terror and his sidekick Haggard. As I recall, theirs, as well as the protagonists had armor that could get various attachments of guns, cannons, etc.
I remember going into Toys R Us when I was a kid and seeing isles upon isles of cool action figures. I went their the other day to get black ops and it looks like a day care center for babies. I miss the good old days.
Mike is awesome. I've actually had a short conversation with Mike before. I have him as a friend on Facebook, and believe it or not HE actually added ME. I'm not sure how that happened, but I saw that he was online one night and I was drunk, so I felt obliged to send him a personal message telling him that he was awesome and how I was a fan. He replied with something along the lines of: "thanks man, I appreciate it." and that as it. Like I said, it was a short conversation.
Man, I wish I still had all of my Action Figures, but I got rid of them when I was a stupid, rebellious, stuck up 14 year old that wanted to look all grown up and shit. I still have some ninjas left over in my closet somewhere tho.
I have several rock lords... they are my favorite...its good to know im not the only toy collector... i wish i had more silverhawks though, i only have 2. also you can get a pretty cheap lion-o on ebay these days...
I used to have a load of Real Ghostbusters figures when I was 10. I gave them to my younger cousin when I grew out of them and he sold them all to a flea market for £20!
You remember me when i was a litle kid and have all those action figures.Even now i collect and custom 12 inch figures wich i like allot! you people are amazing you are from the few that you kept all that collection from years ago.Its because of good memories, that is all about.I remember having from heman the guy that splits in two, hordack (i think that was his name) i had lion oh from thundercats many gijoes, and more that i can't remember.
I had Transformers, Go-bots, Rocklords, Battle Beasts, Masters of the Universe, Sectaurs, AND Wheeled Warriors! And those weird wrestling guys. Sectaurs and Wheeled Warriors (or 'Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors') were some of most creative in terms of stories and characters. I also had audio cassette adventure tapes of 'Asteroids', 'Pole Position', 'Yar's Revenge', and 'Stompers'. Why was the 'Sectaurs' series so short-lived compared to 'Masters of the Universe'?
I got the metalic voltron figure that was made in Japan eons ago before the plastic figure came out and was made in China. It was great and I didn't realize that it would be a valuable item years later...
I used to love He-Man, but years later when I look back I realize that everyone on this f-ing planet is on roids, and the thing that bother me the most is everybody wear tights... WTF?!
starscream was always my favorite transformer. man, transformers bring back SO many memories. :]

I used to have a load of Real Ghostbusters figures when I was 10. I gave them to my younger cousin when I grew out of them and he sold them all to a flea market for £20!

WTF?!
