  • People here write of listening to their grandparents well I'm just a bit older than on commenter (68 in May) but I remember listening to Miss Clooney's recording on the radio (we didn't get a TV until 1956). For some odd reason I just thought of this song (especially the deep bass refrain) and sure enough hear it is on youtube.com. Many thanks!

  • Oh the memories. I remember my grandmother singing this song to me when I was about 4-5 years old. I love it and I loved her. I'm now 62 years young.

  • Great number. Does someone know the owner of the big voice we hear here and there on this record?

  • @monteleone1010 -- that big bass voice was Thurl Ravenscroft -- also the voice of Tony the Tiger, the lead headstone in the Haunted Mansion, Fritz the Parrot in the Tiki Room, and the guy who sang "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch".

  • Love that swinging instrumental break.

  • This song played at my grandmas funeral. Whenever I hear this song she comes to mind. I still tear up.

  • Love it!!!!!!

  • Not my favorite song by her, but still awesome. I wish I could've met her ahaha

  • I can only remember hearing this song on an old 78 RPM record at my Grandparents house when I was little...... it sounds great remastered. Her voice is really clear - the old 78 sounded muddy and scratchy.

  • Thanks for Sharing this Classic..Awesome singing By Rosemary..Many Many Stars ******* And More..All thumbs up..Great Song And Video...:))

  • I think the woman at 38 to 44 seconds is Jo Stafford.

  • I loved this when I was a little girl!! And I love it still. Thanks.

  • Yes, that's right. It is a picture. Of course the audio is uninterrupted and perfect.

  • Somebody goofed. The lady between :38 and :44 is most definitely not Rosemary Clooney.

  • @SaulCarp If so, that someone is me.

  • @John1948Eleven32 Thanks for putting it on Youtube. I don't know what Saul Carp is on about "somebody goofed"

  • rosemary clooney was born May 23, 1928 and died June 29, 2002 (74) Rosemary Clooney was an American singer and actress. "This Ole House", although she had success as a jazz vocalist. Clooney's career languished in the 1960s, partly due to problems related to depression and drug addiction, but revived in 1974, when her White Christmas co-star Bing Crosby asked her to appear with him at a show marking his 50th anniversary in show business. She continued recording until her death in 2002.
