impeccable taste Tim , the thing i liked most about Gilmour was he did not hide his guitar playing in masses of disstortion(u know wot i mean) its out there for all to see,pure class

I do not concur....he doesn't hide behind masses of distortion...he plays with tons of compression(more than just about anyone I can think of... esp w/later Pink Floyd) which goes a very long way towards covering up any imperfections in technique. Page at his most heroin addled would sound as precise as Robert Fripp if he squashed his signal the way Gilmour does
