  • I envy that guitar.

  • Nice video and solo, but the audio quality is pretty bad :(

  • @PowerSpartanl99 The audio is fine. What you hear is the 60 cycle hum of those P90s pickups

  • Nice gold top and nice vibrato ;)

  • damn those p90's are hot!

  • what a hum

  • When did you start playing because i want too but im 15. Too late isn't it ? Please Reply

  • @thedixieboy22

No of course not! Henrix started when he was 15 ....

  • @somatder cool ........ watch me be better than hendrix .. if possible

  • @somatder Never too late. I started at age 35.

  • @somatder yeah. Jimmy Page started at 15 too =D

  • @thedixieboy22

I'm almost 21 and I've only been playing for a year. So no, 15 isn't too late.

  • thats how you rock out

  • you should have used the treble pickup. still sounds great

  • Les Paul forever <3

  • my les paul with humbuckers has more hum then this

  • For me the soap bars (p90's) on my 56 reissue is the sound I have been searching all my life for. Advice to young guitar payers. Forget buying tons of effects .... All you need is a quality p90 equipped les Paul through a decent valve amp. The sustain and clarity of the tone is awesome.

  • OMG are you billionair or something?how many diferents guitars do you have?donate one for me LOL. GREAT COVER

  • that les paul's strings are not grounded

  • @CamilleJacob it isn't the strings; it is the pickups; what you hear is the natural P90 pickup's 60 cycle hum. that style pickup was made before humbuckers; humbuckers have 2 coils that essentially eliminate the hum, though not all of it. humbuckers "buck" the hum. thus the name

  • yes... no. can't believe 60 cycle hum from a p90 is so loud. That hum I hear at the begining is way to loud and seems to come from the fact that gibson cavities where not isolated. But as you touch and untouch the strings nothing changes, that's what makes me say your strings are not grounded....

  • @CamilleJacob P90s hum varies from the environment. Lightnings and etcs, when i play p90s on stage with high powered lights, the hum is much more significant than playing in my bedroom with one lamp on. So it might be the certain lightning or things around his environment making its hum louder than usual. But its nothing that a noise gate cant take care of

  • @McScottson I had one; it robbed the tone and made it sound like the guitar was running through a processor. In the end I preferred to have the hum with the natural sound of the guitar.

  • @JohnnyAce07 interesting, which noise gate did you use if i may ask? I've been using the isp decimator and have fell in love with it like many others have. It got rid of the hum, but the tone still stayed in tack with minimal differences. But i can sure contest to the hum adding to the tone of the p90s, kinda the flavour of this beast that some can people can be in love or hate it.

  • @CamilleJacob haha if it wasnt grounded they wouldnt sound that good when playing. if your gonna buy gibson get p90s. best pickups out there

  • @CamilleJacob - MORE LIKE THE OUTLET !

  • Do you know any whole songs???? Do you tune your own guitars????? Can you play in time once????

  • Nice work. Jimmy Page actually recorded this with a Telecaster in the middle position.

  • @briansmoke Bridge position, his middle position was wired out of phase.

  • Guitar porn :D

  • holy crap what a nice guitar

  • beautiful good job amazing guitar btw

  • why do they put those pickups in les paul snow they look dumb

  • @MegaBarger those are the original les paul pickups.

  • @MegaBarger Those are P90s. They were Gibson's original solid-body guitar pickup. They switched to the Humbucker (which is still standard today) around 1958/1959. Before then, all their guitars had P90s.

  • nice guitar but throw some humbuckers on it. especially if its a 1968.

if it was a 1958, it would be an exception to leave the p90s, but no man.

  • @TokeHuge no way man!!!! that would destroy the value of it!

  • @TokeHuge The 68-72 Gold Tops were re-issues of the 50's Les Pauls so it would still de-value it if he put the humbuckers in. I have a 72 Gold Top Deluxe and I often thought about putting them in mine but even though I'm never going to sell it, I just keep the P90's in. I'm looking for another old Paul with the buckers and I suggest anyone looking for that sound should do the same with a 2nd guitar & leave these the way they came.

  • Where can you buy vintage guitars?

  • @C44T44 i have one like this on ebay right now for $19,999.99

  • @JohnnyAce07 at least not 20.000 :D

  • @JohnnyAce07 why not $20,000?

  • @JohnnyAce07 - YEAH - AND IT'LL STAY THERE TOO !

  • @HEARTHEANGELSVOICES I sold that guitar a while back

  • @JohnnyAce07

So did you get the $20k

  • I like stairway on the 54 more than the other video with the custom.

  • What 54 are you referring to?

  • Heck no! That is a $25,000 collector guitar, near mint! The P90s sound fine. Page recorded the solo with a Fender Telecaster, similar pickups.

  • @JohnnyAce07

did you buy it earlier in your life or did you pay vintage price for it?

  • i bought it about 2 years ago. that one is my sweetest vintage guitar

  • take out the p90's like tom scholz did

  • @twiggymac Heck no! That is a $25,000 collector guitar, near mint! The P90s sound fine. Page recorded the solo with a Fender Telecaster, similar pickups.

  • aww c'mon. you know you wanna =P

jk. they sound great but the hum would annoy the hell out of me

  • What amp are you using?!

  • it is a Marshall JCM 900 100 watt 2x12 combo, model 4102.....and a Marshall power brake

  • the tone is superb!

im planning to go for les paul with p90s but i hate the hum, do you think the isp deciminator would affect the tone?

  • i am not familiar with that device

  • why would you want a guitar with certain pickups if you don't like th sound of it? :p

  • yes im not much of a fender guy either. but I think im forced to either get a tele or a strat (fender) because gibson is way to overpriced...

  • jimmy originally did the studio solo on his dragon telecaster and live used his double neck sg...

  • yeah i know. but i am not a fender guy. although, i might get an eric johnson strat. the double neck is too large & heavy & will not hang on my wall. i have another video where i am playing the aged jimmy Page Les Paul which has the push/pull pot in the up position (single coil bridge).

  • thats the best les paul tone ever

  • yep, all original. i got it from a collector who has over 700 guitars.

  • oops! i got my other two GTs from a collector who has over 700 guitars. i got this one from another collector who is also a reputable dealer.

  • Johnny, Is that 68 all original? Man, where did you get that? That is one of my dream guitars. Forget the 59, I'd rather have yours! She's a REAL beauty! Oh yeah, Nice job on the solo! I'm just extremely envious... nah...jealous!

    Keep 'em coming! Regards//KP

  • Very nice!
