1 engine for 14 cars? why dont all trains use that ratio?

@jfsa380 All trains are differen't. Amtrak trains are very light and not heavy. One engine can pull 14 car's, but multiple engine are needed for lets say 100 cars. Every train is differen't. There for every train has differen't power.
