Well they do have the MOS 0321 that gives you the chance to Try out for Recon after graduating boot camp, and attending all the classes you need..but it does not mean you will make it...failure to make it results in you being put in a Regular infantry unit. What i'm doing is doing Regular Infantry For two years, and then tryin out for Recon on the 2nd year..your more likley to make it that way instead of just shootin right for Recon
well i was selected and given a spot on recon. mos 0321. there is battalion recon and force recon. battalion recon is the normal after brc (basic recon course) you have to be hand selected to get into force. to ensure that i would get a 300 pft which a very small percentage of ppl get. i leave for bootcamp in june and go to soi then recon school. and with my 300 pft i have hopes of being selected for force. but any1 can join recon in any mos as long as they can pass the indoc.
Let me ask you 'new breeds' a question pertaining to RMAT.We didnt have an offical pipeline when I was with 4th Recon.Basically you had 18 months to go to ARS/BRC.If you are prior active duty and plan on attending college or a Police Academy do you have to just wait until you pass ARS/BRC?
RMAT's reserved for those of us with 4th recon bn. As for Force, its active duty components have become MARSOC. However there's talk about resurrecting a Force Recon. Their pipeline though is the same as Bn Recon. Oh and it's now "BRTC".
how long is the marine force recon training? is there any vacation while on training? coz i think, its about 2 years to complete...and where are the training site if their are many..

i dont personally know for sure but i would ask swede1775 he posts a lot of USMC vids here and always answers questions about the corps and his time in force recon, hope to see you in BRC

No that really doesn't give you an edge at all. Its gonna be just as hard getting in as if you were enlisted.

GT is part of the ASVAB. QT is part of the total test scores you'll be taking in your military career.

the highest you can score on the ASVAB (qt) is 99, you need a GT score of 105 to qualify for recon
