your correct, the screenplay to the movie first blood was ADAPTED and BASED on the novel THE HUNTED written back in the 60's

but because of the anti-vietnam war sentement growing during the time first blood was made, rambo was made to be more of a sympathetic character that the novel and later movies character of Aaron Hallam. how basically was like a mad dog let lose.

thats pretty cool, you are the only person who has picked up it and not read the actual novel

this is actually Rambo - First Blood told differently. Though at the same time not discrediting this movie, was well made.
