  • I'm only 26, but when I talked to my dad about a resource based economy without a monetary system he immediately jumped to "But people will lose their incentive to work without any money." Jacque is right, a person's incentives will always change depending on the culture they are born into. Born poor? Your incentive is make money or starve.

  • @boringlecture Yes. I was born poor, grew up in a single-parent household, but I remember growing up happy. Consequently, money has never really mattered to me. It has always seemed a poor incentive to me, since I was a kid. I did things because I was keen to learn about the world, not because I was going to make money from it someday. I think if money is my incentive then I don't really know how to motivate myself. That's not a swipe at your Dad btw, that's how he grew up and how most of us do.

  • P.S other than than, a fantastic and thought provoking video! Thumbs up :)

  • The one single point of TZM/TVP i disagree with is the attitude towards competition. Having loved both team and individual sport my whole life, i am well aware of the motivation that 'being the best' inspires, and this does not necessarily a negative motivation, it is entirely dependent on the individual and their own inner motivations for wanting to achieve it. Cold hard science has its place, but not to the exclusion of everything else.

  • @TheWarrior1986 I understand where you're coming from. Here's how I think about it: In a competition you only have to be the best and not any better. So, once you are winning there is no reason to get better unless there is a problem (someone else getting better?). Competition provides the aspiration to be the best, but once that is achieved what do you do? If we think we are the best, progress stops. TVP argues that we are never the best but always a work in progress. You can always be better.

  • i like that video but how can i do the translation so i can share with my friends who only understand spanish!!!i will love to help to translate this videos!!

  • Does Jacque really have kids? Would be interesting to hear his kids opinion on all of this and how they managed in life.

  • @MarkoKraguljac they died before him.

  • @Gantzer1 now that's encouraging :D

  • @chinessgirl spread the word... peace.

  • Thankyou for waking me up from this nightmare world that i live in today and giving me hope for a better and beautiful future. I used to carry so much hate and discrimination untill you awakened me to the reasons behind my behavorial conditions. Thankyou and anyone reading this who does not kwow about the venus project please look into and share it with everyone you know, if you love mankind and mother nature.

  • To say that someone is willing to work for a political cause or do art for free is proof we don't need to pay people to work is simply not true. Doing art is not the same as fixing roofs, plumbing, working in a factory, etc.

And the idea the claim that the world functions off the back of 100 people is not true either.

TVP is based on premises that are obviously not true.

Where is the critical thinking from TVP members?

    Jacque oversimplifies subjects.

  • @kajmobile Well consider that some works of art that get commissioned get pretty dangerous and laborious; take the Mount Rushmore project for example. The 100 people thing I don't really know anything about. Maybe he's talking about the corporations that provides us with everything that runs our life in this point in time.

  • @kajmobile you need to read "The Best that Money Cant Buy"Then I feel you will better understand what The Venus Project is actually, and yes people who enjoy fixing roofs is identical to those who enjoy painting, it the reasoning your doing the "task" that makes it work or fun, TVP is not oversimplified, its explain in clarity, many people in our society are just not ready to hear new ideas.Car factories use to have 1000s workers, now there is around 100 person working an entire plant

  • @itsadeadmansparty i read the book.

u have no proof that painters and factory workers will show in the numbers they do today. and u have no proof that u will get more workers by not paying them than u would by paying them

TVP is not a science based idea looking to improve society. it is an ideological crusade out to eliminate money

an RBE would be far more workable if it used money. u would not have the problem of relying on volunteers and supply would be able 2 meet demand

  • @kajmobile lol why would you want to cling to an out dated system called "money"? Im still not sure why you think the free market system is "free" haha We live in the most ass backwards, most illogical society man could ever make, I agree with Jacque when he says "We are not civilized yet!" Everything in the Venus project can be achieved. If you had a more scientific background you would see, technology isnt slowing down, and it will eventually outsource most positions. Planing Ahead

  • @itsadeadmansparty i agree the current system doesnt work. i DONT advocate a capitalist system! i advocate what u do

all im saying is that u cannot run an RBE without money. all production must be priced in labor time. and the total price of everything u produce must be allocated to everyone as income

this way u can pay people to work, demand will not exceed supply, and u produce only what people want to buy

based on current production u could pay everyone $135k per year

  • @kajmobile thats why man invented Silicon Processors, Even Galium Arsenide Processors work in Terahertz, thats around 1000 times faster then your fastest home computer. You will need the use of supercomputers to create a "World Simulator". Then we take the most highly awarded young programmers and students, have them create a model where we dont use money. It will require a ton of work but the payoff is so high we cant afford not to try this. Or We could vanish like other extinct races

  • @itsadeadmansparty u dont understand the function of money if u think a computer can replace it.

money is used as an incentive to work. it is used to limit consumption to production. and it is a way for me to consume a completely different batch of goods and services than u do.

the only way to accomplish that is to price everything based on how much of our total productive capacity it used up and give everyone their own income to spend. so u need money, not a supercomputer!

  • @kajmobile you could have a computer crunch the numbers so man expends least effort to achieve more results quickly. You dont need money, You need a full circle system that manages resources intelligently. With Enough robotics and well engineered self repairing farms, you can sustain small societies, eventually say in around 1000 years man will get over the need for "Money", eventually power will be plenty and replicators will be real science and you will see fusion, all this is easy

  • @itsadeadmansparty we need it faster than a 1000 years this system is failing now, earthships show people how to get along without this bullshit system already. I welcome the venus projects goals now no matter how much pain we need to go through to get it but not violence.

  • @Gantzer1 Jacque Fresco is a genius, I think if people were willing to make serious changes to how things are actually ran, then it is possible for venus project to solution the issue. We are mainly dealing with technical problems not political problems.

  • @itsadeadmansparty BS! If it were easy.... we would already have it ! If its so easy do it your self and hand it out to the rest of us!

  • @astrialkil lol what I said already exists, mostly in first stage research labs.I can tell you havent researched the Venus Project well enough. I think if you read more literature from Jacque you may understand why we dont have it today. One of the many books Jacque has written is titled"The Best That Money Cant Buy" the title tells you a lot about our current system. The reason you dont see these technologies organized is because we are using primitive methods to problem solving still

  • @itsadeadmansparty What primitive methods? do you have a web site? Are you cataloging your methods so others don't have to reinvent the wheel?

  • @astrialkil Politicians. and Yes I am cataloging my own laboratory work, Duhh im a Scientist. Dude I design website, why would I have 1? Please I recommend you just listen to the older Fresco Lectures. It will explain everything, if you dont research more about his work it shows that your a shill. So please educate yourself, then you can continue your Shill operation

  • @itsadeadmansparty And who am i shilling for? Why is it any time i ask a question you people blanket statement my motives? iI seems you think the world is out to get you.

  • @astrialkil Please ask all your questions, Please,

I noticed you didnt seem familiar with Fresco's work so I assumed you were working for the information agents,Venus project gets attacked a lot because it provides answers unlike religion or government,I was worried you were being a shill

Please just investigate what fresco is talking about.

Listen If me and you were going diving,I wouldnt rely on peoples opinions about how much oxygen we have,I would scientifically find out exactly

  • Thank you very much!

  • I will continue to pursue financial "stability" by way of entrepreneurship for my family, myself and friends. I'm young and just finished studying money systems and entrepreneurship at a four-year University. In other words, I have worked too damn long to just turn around and work like a Ghandi or MLK. I have been working my ass off for at least 10 years. However, once financial "stability" is attained, here I come Venus Project. This is an amazing video. I'm torn between two worlds. Thank you!

  • @Somuchclass there is no "stability" in our present system, Lets say you make 20 million, do you understand that the powers that be will control you no matter what, lets say one day the taxman arrives and Claims everything you earned cannot be proven? He takes all you 20 million, and you have almost no way to protect yourself, yes get a lawyer but the lawyers first duty is to the court, not his client. I am sure you will succeed at your life long goals, but remember The Venus Project

  • The philosophy of meaning derived by living toward a peaceful and happy society?

  • Great talk. Thanks for the upload.
