The buddhists doesent really beliave in reincarnation as far as I understand it. It is more of a link between all life. If you get eaten by a lion then a part of you become a part of the lion for instance. What happens with the self is not answered in Buddism. Correct me if I am wrong.

On the other hand, you wil have more inner peace the more good you do and the more you are abel to focus on others then yourself.

Buddhist tradition differ greatly it seems from theravada, mahayana, Zen, but I am confused, until the controversial discussions between kings and philosophers, Zen masters and pupils of the middle way. Had The Buddha, in so far what we attribute to be his words, ever said anything about an afterlife or reincarnation? or did that get added by others from a hindu trad.? does anyone know if The Buddha said anything like in the Pali canon about afterlife, or reincarnation, b/c i never thought so.

I have read the Bible a number of times and cannot find in it the Christian notions of heaven. If they didn't come from the Bible - where did they come from? To read this book with a completely open mind the reader might conclude that there are more similarities with Buddhism than dissimilarities.

Why do you always have to relate the His Holiness The dalai lama to JEsus? Did Jesus teach you to behave like that? If you're acting like that, you're reflecting your religion as something not religiously good. Learn to act like a wise person. Even Dalai Lama loves Jesus. This is a particular tradition of Buddhism so not all of Buddhism. Many don't believe lives after death is knowable fact. Many do not see Karma as a type of scorecard judging how you will be born in a new life. Karma is simply 'your own doing'. If I beat someone up, chances are someone will eventually retaliate and I will get hurt and nobody will trust me.

I'm not a Christian or a Buddhist although I like the core of Tao, Buddhism and Zen ideas without the religious beliefs stuck on.

The difference here is that Heaven isn't a Buddhist's goal; enlightenment is. Heaven is more of a consolation prize if you were good but didn't become a Buddha.

That's quite limited but a more easier explanation that Christians can relate to, rather than the traditional 6 realms + pure lands, which seem to be what HH is referring to as "heaven".
