I am thinking of purchasing one, however if they are snappy, and they grow to their maximum length and still snappy, how are you going to look after it?
The reason is because i have two young daughters, and the last thing i want is for them to get bitten.
Also you mentioned about the "expo". Is there a reptile expo thats held in sydney every year? If there is then i might have to wait for that day to purchase one ,need licence first
hey mate, first of all its all luck of the draw, you can get placid jungles like my female who dont bite at all, and you can get ones like my male which bite non stop. jungles only get to about 2 metres so when its full grown and still biting, it wont be too hard to handle. i am used to it thought working in a reptile shop its a common accurance being bitten by large snakes(including 9ft scrubbies on the side of the head:D:D)
yes there is an expo in sydney, im going to be heading up to it next year hopefully, its held in castle hill and its called the frog and reptile expo.there is a website somewhere. if there is anything else you wanna know, dont hesitate to ask me!!
thanks mate, carpets are amazing, beautiful snakes, wouldnt trade them for anything else!! that male there is the most bitey snake i own, but the female who is a bit older is extremely placid!! its great!!!!
in aus, most snakes go for alot more then $100. even just a simple spotted or childrens fetch 200-300. and locality based animals can go for much much more
wow. although that might be kind of a good thing because the prices perswade alot of carless owners from buying a snake and mistreating it. thats a big problem in the US were we have ball pythons and corn snakes for $10.
is he still quite snappy now? or is he handling alright now?

is he a jaguar? because he has alot of yellow in him.
HiImSteveDuh 3 years ago
nope, just a normal jungle, dont get jaguars in australia... yet
mckellar007 3 years ago
wow my jungle has no where near that much yellow. thats an amazing snake. how much did it cost you?
HiImSteveDuh 3 years ago
got him at the expo for 500, which is pretty good, normally in aus you'd be looking at 600-800. depending on patening etc
mckellar007 3 years ago
i got mine for $100. but for one with that much yellow i can see them selling for $800. i would agree that $500 is good for that snake.
