I guess that most people don't understand that HP is a figure based on Torque. This car has a linear power band that doesn't drop at the top end like we see in most turbo cars. It looks like a great tune, build and quick 350z!
Power is power, weather is a multiple of torque (HP) on a high revving motor, or gobs or torque in a low revving machine.
@Clobercow1 first it's a 370z second this is not a light car and needs more tq. You can type all the engineering dialogue you want but at the end of the day TQ wins races. larger IC piping should help. Cams and turbo choice can help
This car doesn't have low torque; it simply makes a ton of HP for the torque that it does make. While some other cars would be making around 390 WHP for a 372 WTQ figure, this car makes 500 WHP. How could that ever be a bad thing? This was probably made on very low PSI and the low torque figures will save wear on drivetrain components. If this car made 450 WTQ like you torquesturbators would prefer the WHP would be closer to 600+ WHP based on the linear nature of this motor's powerband.
Another Video from Torque Junkies. The reason for lack of torque is the turbochargers, gear-ratio, Torque really isn't necessary. Turbos generate high Horsepower and the lack of torque. The gear ratios in most imports will shift to next gear outside of the torque range anyway.
If you look carefully, the graphs stop at 7180 or so rpm. The stock runs show a dip at the end indicating the fuel shut-off, which we all know occurs at 7500 rpm. The tachometer on the dyno machine is off. The HP measurement will be accurate, but the torque calculation will be reading 4.4% high. The peak torque qill really be ~356 lb/ft.

people you dont need gobs of TQ when the car is light. a car that weighs 3100lbs and makes 372 tq is no diff than a car making 450tq that weights 3800 lbs.
give em some time to get use to the weird vvtl system and engine, three years of more development and tuning and the torque will be up there. vq engines can usually put down good torque so its not the engine platform to blame
@supercars01 Its because they're pulling the timing so that they don't put a rod through the block, or a hole through a piston. Sucks when you have to run on stock internals.
hmm, I think more development is needed as far as flow is concerned. The HP versus rpm is kinda low....although I like how it never drops and the torque is consistent.
whats the next best car to get after a GTR if u dont want spend the 80k's and still be fast and reliable anyone?

I would prefer this setup more so than anything.

I really have nothing to say to this, other than you may want to read up on how HP is calculated.
HP is at the rate at which Torque is applied. If you still think TQ wins races, you are correct, but not for the reasoning you provide.

370Z's tend to run lower tq. in relationship to hp. 500whp on a stock block is still no joke.
