after choosing the effect color halftone, my picture has

huge transparent blocks all over it. looking nothing like the small ones in your image. is it something with my settings.

The reason why is because your photo has too small of a resolution. In order to achieve that effect, you need to have a very large photo, like an original digital camera image.

the pixelate - color halftone doesnt work well at mine :( i use the ps cs4 version 11 and when i do color halftone and set it to 4 pixels i see coloured circles on my pic... red, green, blue, yellow or something like that... HELP!!

It's very possible that your image is just too small in resolution...

The color halftone pixelate effect works by coloring the individual pixels the different colors and if the image has a smaller resolution and isn't as clear the one that is being used in this video than the pixels appear larger, your image is blockier and less focused, and you don't get the desired effect. My advice is to take a higher quality picture and then try again on that one. Does that help?
