Second: I just installed osx on my q6600 box and it's amazing. I'm also dual booting to windows and using virtual machine to run both at the same time within OS X. I do this mainly to use top of the line editing software but also to familiarize myself with linux commands.
After breaking down that mental barrier and finally trying os x I can actually speak about it from the other side. (whereas most of you can't) cont...
The problem that I have seen is that people who use osx get nothing short of hell from windows users who think that the world only revolves around m$. I can't ever just tell people that I'm using osx because they instantly berate me with a multitude of 10 year old reason's why mac sucks.
This end, I find my self all to often arguing like a fanboy. The prejudice is so firmly rooted in peoples minds that it's very difficult to justify to people why I use both OS's.
He's changed a lot. I don't mind him growing up & admire running a great biz, but he's totally a Mac Moonie now, and that's sad. Notice- he doesn't develop or otherwise do anything hardcore now. He just plays with his Macs. NO objectivity anymore. On Digg, he praises the G3, but on Leo's show, he admitted to having to apply the many patches just to keep it functioning. In the latest Digg from 09/14, he likes portable ebook readers, but said he won't get one unless it's Apple. Sell-out Fanboy.
at 0:16 he's talking about the apple tv, I'll give him that, but at 1:11 he's having a pure fanboyism talking about running a Unix system, OSX is Unix based so unless proven otherwise I'm not convinced he's running anything special, and no shit Alex is running Windows he's a gamer, but in closing we know for damb sure that he was a sellout for at least that night and a complete apple freak because hes supporting DRM, get him into custody and check him into mental counseling as soon as possible.
whoaaaaaaaaaaa... alex said when he got the zune that he like to pay monthly for the all you can eat music store. As soon as you stop paying you loose your music. But he just said he doesn't like not OWNING something.
All the guy had to say was ask the guy on the right - 'so what kind of frame rate do you get in Crysis on linux or macs? - oh I'm sorry, you don't play games on linux or macs, end of story'. Whilst Linux and Macs have their niche uses, Windows will always be the most powerful OS (because everything runs on Windows and PC's will always be more powerful and cheaper than Macs).
Windows isn't better because the gaming development revolves around it. Saying a platform has a better game library doesn't equate to a better running system. Each system is good for its own functioning reasons though. A few examples, Mac - Recording Studios, Windows - Games, Linux - Free alternative to many of the popular programs in Mac and Windows. Windows doesn't run everything anyways. I don't like Mac, but I won't talk trash about it. Just ask flash animators which OS they prefer.
Kevin Rose has normally had a fair ideology on digital rights and computer usage but his die-hard love for Macs has been the one thing I have had a problem with. He treats everything else skeptically and puts it under the microscope but when it's about Apple policy he defends it to the death.
Agreed. It really does seem like a cult at times. I have nothing against Mac other than the interface, and lack of freeware which is mainly a preferential thing. It seems to me at times though that Mac users tote their OS so hard that it almost seems like they are trying to compensate for the inferiority they see in it. I am not saying that I view it as inferior, but it is almost odd at times.
Absolutely. Like I said, it's just personal preference that I don't choose Macintosh, I have nothing against it other than that. The underlying system is amazing, and has wonderful features. I'm not tying to attack you either. I just find many Mac users as almost fanatic about it. Sometimes almost angrily so.

First off: people need to realize that a computer isn't just for gaming. Sorry kids, but the majority of the world uses computer for other things.
