So the people who said Americans killed civilians must a video of it right? The video must be about Soldiers from their country killing their own people, or maybe these people play to much Call of Duty? I dont understand When Soldiers when to Iraq civilians were pleased becuse if the Us military didnt come they would have been executed by their own
I was horribly depressed in the army, with daily thoughts of suicide and every once in a while I actually considered murder/suicide. I always had several boxes of sleeping pills, popped out of their bubble wrap, that I kept in an aspirin bottle. If army life went from horrible to intolerable, I could just take them all and go to sleep.
Once I got out though, the problem went away. It's been 20 years since I've been in and I haven't wanted to kill myself (or anyone else) even once.
2. I'm an awesome mechanic, with a genius level mechanical talent but some people just aren't configured (mentally or physically) for army life. I'm one of that type. I make a great civilian though.
I did accomplish one thing while I was in. I saved up enough money to get my 2 year diesel mechanic degree. Now I'm earning 32 bucks an hour, doing something that I actually have a talent for. So my army ears were horrible but I did accomplish one thing there. But it almost killed me.
@Aglahad "Because that was over 30 years ago..you wanna talk about Australian persecution of Aborigines?"
Yes, yes I do want to talk about Aborigines, persecution of American Aborigines you duplicitous idiot. Americans NEVER consider their own atrocities when bitching about others. And 30 years makes no difference at all. That blood is on every yankee hand. In the most recent American war the My Lai principle was used on unarmed reporters.
@austdata What? The US has apologized multiple times. The US military gives millions to humanitarian aid each year...Haiti, Indonesia, Japan. You name a natural disaster and the US is there when no one else is. Go be butt hurt elsewhere. Define keep happening? I want sources, not just a rogue soldier here and there doing bad things in the end they pay for it. Sorry your ignorance amuses me.
@austdata /yawn seen it a long time ago. While it wasn't proper procedures for handling a hostile situation (i.e. they didn't have positive identification on the RPGs), it was nothing like My Lai. Once again an isolated incident which does not reflect an army of a million men and women. In addition,I highly doubt pilots were intentionally targeting civilians. I will not doubt there are black marks on our history as well as any nation (cough Commonwealth cough) but your blanket statements insult.
@Aglahad Very few nations keep making these same "mistakes" over and over again and not taking responsibility for them. The US will never learn if it doesn't. Errors like the USS Vincennes will continue to happen. Those deaths are the responsibility of all Americans.
@austdata US paid hefty reparations for the incident and repeatedly attempted to make radio contact with unidentified air plan with civilian/military air frequencies. The airport the plane came from was a duel military/civvie airport and this was the cold war as well as high tension mark with Iran. If you were in the bridge with and unidentified, unresponsive aircraft heading your way (possibly an Iranian F-14) what you have done? Waited till it was within sight?. Congrats you are dead
@Aglahad "identified plane" or the equipment was not up to scratch. The Vincennes had no way of contacting civil aircraft. Still you not accepting responsibility. The blood is on your hands. Money doesn't reconstitute the dead.
It would be better that the entire crew of the Vincennes died, or my hypothetical ship, rather than killing all those civilians.
@austdata Hahah fat chance. How does a guided missile cruiser not have the ability to contact a a civilian aircraft on open emergency airway frequencies. Are you serious? Have you even been in the military? Do you know anything about comm systems or do you base your efforts off of web media and wikipedia? Well shit this is coming from a guy who applies the My Lai massacre to every serviceman since the dawn of America...get over yourself.
@trap4dafu2k0fit I have no idea who you are, but if you don't like the Army, then don't watch this video. You don't have to post "fuck the army" on almost every single US Army commercial you see. Get some damn respect for our military.

@austdata If you truly apply the actions of one platoon and their commander to the entire history of the US army you truly are an idiot. That is all.

@Aglahad "a guided missile cruiser not have the ability to contact a a civilian aircraft"
That came from the finding of the US inquiry into the incident, which also failed to accept responsibility.
