my old BenQ drive started sounding like that before for a month before it started eating games, and then wouldn't even read them. I think it's the laser's actuator becoming eff'd.

I have the same exact problem, except it makes this noise and also doesn't read the disks either.

I'm just replacing the entire drive now.

Try putting some rubber washers under the legs of the drive and wrapping it in this sound insulating shit. Look for a tut on google/

omg its an airplane in a xbox 360 :D (its probably becuz it's the old drive , you can get a lite-on on ebay (i got one for 35 euro (thats 25 for the actual drive + 10 for the delivery)

yeah it sounds flashed with iestreme1.5, Thats what they sound like when flashed. If you got it second hand try loading up a backup game, if its flashed your lucky, lol

somebody please help me. I got the same disk drive. It wont play cd,s dvd, games ect. It keeps saying open trey after it reads it. Now, i dissembled it down to what u seen on this video. But with this disk drive. the screws are like backwards. Im thinking how can i possible fit a screw driver underneath the drive. Im trying to take apart the ben q disk drive. Need help..im pretty sure i got that magnet problem. Cause I can hear something rattling when i turn ova the xbox.

non-sense the benq is the newest model drive design to be the quitest and theyall un at the same speed other wise your games would all be written at diff speeds and youd need a higher drive to run a faster wrote game, i should know i work for microsoft

My hitachi is loud as a chainsaw and its the same for my friends hitachi, the benq is the second quietest drive the lite-on is the quietest, I have one.

No the xbox samsung drive is differen to the 360 samsung drive, it has a way different tray. and lazer making it a completly different dvd drive just the same brand.
