I think some of you are stuck on the App Store versus the iPhone capabilities, I 'd love to see an iPhone commercial without mentioning a single app. Notice that the new Evo's are killing it with 8mp cameras, HD recording, front facing cameras, HDMI output! and 4 inch screens how are the iphone4 specs better? The fact is that the iPhone makes it so damn hard to use the phone in the simplest ways you need an app to drag and drop where as others phones just work with no app or internet needed.
HD2 runs latest andorid build, camera is 5mp, records 720 p HD video, 1ghz processor, Dual LED flashlight, 3.5mm headphone jack, 4" screen! I have used both phones and recently, went back to the iphone and I couldn't stand it. Unless you have use both, you can't compare. The HD2 is an old phone with the same HARDWARE capabilities of the iPhone 4 minus the front facing camera. The fact that it is old says alot, The New Evos are running 8mp cameras and higher specs than both the HD2 and iPhone4!

You are not being fair man: when you press BACK button on the iPhone - it closes an app; when you press HOME or BACK button on a Windows Mobile device, including HD2 - the app is still running in the background, therefore consuming RAM and slowing down the device and reducing speed...that said, HD2 (all apps closed properly) would be an absolute winner in all tests.

HTC has 720p recording if you use the unofficial Windows Phone 7 ROM someone made. Windows Mobile doesn't support it naturally. The processor can of course handle HD because it's 1GHz like the iphone but the OS makes it stick with VGA.

it's funny because the HD2 is actually the release trumper for the 3gs. i have the HD2 from europe. so it's an unfair comparison from my point of view, because the HD2 was released much earlier than the iphone 4. i modded HD2 to run cyanogenmod NAND android 2.2
my sister got the iphone 4, and i still win.
My opinion from the three big operating systems is quite simple
because Android is open source, you can do whatever you want. iOS simply fails, and WM started smartphones, but now dying.

I own them both, HD2 running everything from WM to Android NAND, and iPhone cannot come near to HD2 in terms of speed, usability, versatility... HD2 has such platform that can support almost any OS from any handheld device, a feature that Apple could never meet. It's been said: iOS (iPhone) for girls; Android for kids; Windows Mobile for men. Amen. Anyway, a decent video, cheers mate.

You are not being fair man: when you press BACK button on the iPhone - it closes an app; when you press HOME or BACK button on a Windows Mobile device, including HD2 - the app is still running in the background, therefore consuming RAM and slowing down the device and reducing speed...that said, HD2 (all apps closed properly) would be an absolute winner in all tests.

@joe746308674 But, by default, iPhone closes an app when back button pressed and minimizes it when the BACK button is held and then it runs in background...at least my iPhone does so, maybe the USA version does otherwise, I bought my in Bosnia...And iPhone apps consume way less RAM than those on WM6.5...cheers mate...

Use the internet explorer bro, why make a benchmark video and do everything possible to make one fone win. Fact still remains, its expected that new would win always but the HD2 is just one of those solid devices that will be a classic in the future, also it can run multiple Os's like Android and Ubuntu without all that cheap jailbreaking stuff, i say if u got the money and u ain't smart, get an iphone, if ya wanna learn how things work on a device that can invade your upmost privacy get HD2!

@sexyrejean i wouldnt say jailbreaking is cheap, any program design takes time and money into it, it all depends on what people want, some like android. some like ios4 and some like windows phone 7, im not against any of them, i used and owned all platforms, i think they are all great devices, but its all depends on the buyer and users of the device thats all

HTC has 720p recording if you use the unofficial Windows Phone 7 ROM someone made. Windows Mobile doesn't support it naturally. The processor can of course handle HD because it's 1GHz like the iphone but the OS makes it stick with VGA.

HTC Evo resolution 800x480 and 4.1Inches.
iPhone 4 resolution: 960x640 and only 3.5inches. Yeah, much better.
iOS is much better than Android. A lot of my friends has Android, and it always crush, and many other things.
iPhone A4 chip is so awesome. And, did HTC has Facetime? Oh no.
So, conclusion:
iPhone > HTC Evo.

Bullshit Ios is better don't pull that crashing shit cause my friend has a iphone 4 and his girl has a 3gs and they are always crashing and force closing stuff. All the A4 chip is would be a 1 ghz processor no different from a damn snapdragon or hummingbird processor just because apple uses it does not mean it is enchanted with magical awesome power that is not there.
