well u would have to be an idiot not to cover the water barrel up..and replace it with a new plastic one instead of the rusty tin thing..if she lived for 50 yrs like it she used to it by now.
You're an amazing woman. I'd like to do something like this in Eastern Kentucky/Appalachia for children. Do they also have an adoption agency connected/partnered with your services? Have you heard of any?
Ms. Harrell, I think you are doing a wonderful thing for Ms. Alberta and others like her. God is going to bless you! But I want to know - where are Ms. Alberta's children? Who would let their own mother live in conditions like that? I understand the abject poverty that Ms. Alberta finds herself in, but I can't understand how someone could let their mother live without the basic necessities of life!
That having been said, I do feel that it is incumbent upon the rest of us to help. God bless

She is too old to fix up her own house and I know even I at 35 could not make significant repairs myself. I have lived in a small studio apartment and in a poorer area of Gladstone,Mo but I lived 10 times better than this. There needs to be better quality affordable housing!
I wish I was in the USA (Louisiana) where Ms.Alberta is so I could help her even a little bit...yourstory08, I love this coverage....thank you so much.God bless.....

Another subtitle to this piece should be - I turned the channel and I know America is beautiful but, can you show me what's behind that curtain?
For humanitarian purposes Can these people in this community come together and grow food and live stock for themselves?

I am only 43, but I remember using the outhouse at my father's childhood home when we would go back to Tifton, GA in the '70s
