  • Nice video, thanks for uploading!

  • Was this recorded by Steve Albini?

  • June of 44 was tight as hell. Post Big Black, Polvo ~ Pre - Isis Harkonen Hydra Head stuff that now defines Math Rock.

  • i was listening to rodan-everyday world of bodies already, lol

  • Happy to say I went to see them pretty much every opportunity that occured, even had the chance of hanging out with them, very nice guys, not self centered in any rock hipster kind of way.

  • bombasssong

  • Three people must be seals. That or they like Justin Beiber.

  • amazzing

  • lame. cut out. fuck seals.

  • MY GOD A SHARK sorry had to be said

  • ;yes I was hoping a shark would come in on cue and eat those fuckers

  • MY GOD.... I'M SO HORRIFIED! FSK 18! :S

  • good band, i prefer boys life or quixote, but j44 were always good.

  • bonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!

  • grandi!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • best band ever.....

  • Awesome June of 44 song. Some abrasive dissonance and a little a emotion. Fuck yeah.

  • which album?

  • This was on an EP shaped like a matchbook. Even the vinyl packaging. It was called Sharks and Sailors.

  • @blacklevanter nah, I'm pretty sure it was called Anatomy of Sharks. Still a great EP though.

  • I can't help but bring up the distinct lack of sailors in this video. The song is clearly not entitled "Sharks and Seals." I came anyways

  • Awesome song. Awesome vid.

  • This Rocks So Fucking Hard!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome!!! Great Video!!!

  • If you like this, make sure to check out Rodan's album "Rusty." Great stuff. It was the guitarist's first band. Dig that Louisville scene!

  • I love how the arguements on this video are way more civilized than say a metal video.

  • If SLINT and SHELLAC got together and had a kid (and ate junk food and smoked pot while pregos) it would be a beautiful bouncing June of 44. Sweet video! "On this day... Ive lost (angry great white shot) FFFAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCE!"-nice. P.S. Slint concert=probably the greatest experience of my life.

  • Damn, I wish these guys would get back together!

  • yeah boi here comes captain shark gonna eat dem seals like mo'fukkin pancakes for breakfast !!!!

  • This is more like Albini's stuff than Slint.

  • Umm, Slint? hehe, Slint and June of '44 were sort of label mates. Slint on Touch and Go, J'o'44 on Quarterstick.

  • @MuleSkinner01

    They shared band members too....

  • slint?

  • im a bouy....such a good jam. they were somewhat sloppy but full of conviction.

  • hmmm slint?

  • they've something in common but they're so different

  • the beginning sounded like meshuggah

  • you mean meshuggah sounds like the beginning...

  • @cliquehop Meshuggah is older than this...

  • @cliquehop Actually, Meshuggah formed in 1987, and June of 44 formed in 1994. Not being a smartass, I just love both bands x)

  • This song is amazing.

    Just plain amazing.

  • adur...didn't even notice that typo

  • The best part is at around 6:20 when it gets fast and all the people are thrashing around in the water. The video fits well with the audio at that point.

  • id love to see a video of Rodan - everyday world of bodies

  • That's actually what I came to youtube looking for. Jo'44 is a good substitute though.

  • Nice vid, and a perfect choice of music. Cheers.

  • These guys rocked......they still do.

  • Great song. Great vid. Do me a favor and send this to every "emo" band that is currently sucking kids into a fashion statement. Fall Out Boy...you are first on the list....

  • As much as I agree with your assessment of Fall Out Boy, June of '44 isn't emo.

Send the kids some Rites of Spring or Sunny Day or something :P

  • sunnd day real estate kicked major ass..

  • Correct, they're Math Rock. They are way too complex to be any form of 'core' as that refers to hardcore punk and it's multitude of sub-genres.

    Ian MacKaye quote on 'Emocore'

It's "the stupidest fucking thing Ive ever heard in my entire life."

God I love Ian! Everyone check out 'The Evens'

  • @MuleSkinner01 i like the evens but i just cant get into it sometimes. its too nice and kind. its hard to listen to ian when he's not yellin in passion. long live fugazi, lond live june of 44,.

  • or better yet reenact this video with emo kids as the seals and sharks as the sharks

  • ...and sharks as the sharks...hahahahaha

  • @cliquehop I challange you to listen to their lyrics. I won't win anything on their demographic, bass player, record company suckupness and willingness to endorse anything. I will however say for "pop" music the lyrics are quite good and the music plays off quite well the themes. Disclamer: I share this profile with my siblings, the favorites list was not made by me.

  • damn... that shark flying slowly and the doug's drumming was trippy.

  • for sure =)

  • fantastic song!....great vid (the end is very funny!) ;)

  • yeah, I was running out of good shark footage. =)

  • This song is full of w1n. Props and cred for posting.

  • What a classic that still gets me moving.

  • word

    what else can one say?
