Gamera vs. Garasharp 1972 would have been a great movie too bad the company got bankrupt. Gamera 4 is a student made movie I think that makes Gamera battling an Albino Gyaos.

I've made a version of this. I gave Garasharp an origin in ancient Egypt, and he'll try to eat Gamera at the end, meaning he'll be MUCH larger. Malkopkarappa won't be in it, he will have a different place.
@eaglesfan226 It never passed post-produccion. The reason why Gamera fell is not only cos the company went bankrupt, but the workers destroyed all the miniatures, puppets and suits, which also explains why Supermonster Gamera was almost all stock footage. Besides, if they release an actual movie about this, only kaiju fans would go there. parents would'nt let they're kids see it and everybody else would tear the film apart. Only us Kaiju fans would give a damn about it...
This mini-movie, concept for a Gamera move that never was, is included (subtitled) in the Special Features for Shout! Factory's DVD of GAMERA, THE GIANT MONSTER (1965) dropping on May 18, 2010!
This is VERY cool!!! Ahh what could have been... a classic in the making!! To bad "Gamera The Brave'' was not the film fans wanted...It had it's moments tho....
@stupidityunitenstuff He's called Malcopkarappa, even though he's got other, longer names. Nobody knows what part he would have played, but I classify it as an alien.
Excuse me but I can't understand Japanese. Will someone tell me please what is the orange kaiju at 3:19? A prototype for Garasharp before they wanted him snake like?
though it looks like it would have been a step up from the older Gamera films (I like the re-designing of the suit), it's probably a movie best left unmade. what's with the orange bird-thing
Nope, they never filmed anything. The Garasharp suit was indeed made, but Daiei went bankrupt before filming was to begin. This video is a recreation of what would have been, using motorized models.
Unlike the Godzilla franchise, there was only one abandoned project in the Gamera series. I don't know why they tossed this one...it would have been a hit.
Oh, there were abandoned Godzilla movies. Godzilla vs. redmoon, Godzilla vs. hedora II, Godzilla vs. Frankenstein, Godzilla vs. the human vapor, Godzilla vs. the devil, and others. not to be sarastic, im just saying
the gas that garasharp uses stuns gamera so he can use his rattle. his rattle is sonic so that means it would be so freakin loud it would make gameras ear drums explode
(just so everyone knows, kaijujapan is my old account) I think that if the movie was made, it would be the best in the series. i wish they would try to make it, they made guardian of the universe after they went bankrupt so why not try again?
I found out that the studio originaly wanted Garasharp to have Two heads and later split into two different monsters for Gamera to fight. THAT would be cool.
I'm fairly sure that Malcobkarappa (the monster at the very end) is NOT supposed to be Garasharps larval form, but a seperate monster which Gamera would have fought at a different point in the film. Daiei originally annouced this as "Gamera vs Double Monster W" with, I believe, Gamera fighting two new opponents (Garasharp and Malcobkarappa).
It would have been an interesting movie, but unfortunately Daiei went bankrupt and did not make it. Garasharp would be like the "King Ghidorah" of the Gamera series.
I have a friend who claimes hes seen gamera vs. garasharp but i told him thats impossible because the studios went bankrupt in the middle of making the movie
Good old Gamera...he's such a devoted "friend to all children" that he even saves Garasharp's offspring. Who will almost certainly grow up and try to kill Gamera. So, from a strategic point of view, that was an incredibly foolish decision. Lucky for Gamera that the studio ran out of money...
Since this would have been a Showa-era Gamera movie, it would have been like "Gamera Vs. Jigra (Monster X)" or "Gamera Vs. Zigra" with cheesey special effects and two or three kids as the main characters.
And i've wondered about that wierd-looking monster at the end...the letters at the bottom read "Marukobu Garasharp". When I websearch "Marukobu" I usually find websites with pictures of some kind of mollusk. So maybe it's a parasite that also emerged from Garasharp's body.
This is so cool even though I have no idea what he is saying.

I did a websearch for the name of the weird creature at the end of this video - マルコブガラッパ
I found a japanese website about crusteceans called kaisuigyonoyumeichibaDOTjp with a picture of it...it's a crab!
BobHershey 2 years ago 2
マルコブガラッパ translate Malcobkarappa, that thing is a Crab? it looked to me like Guilala.
lizardkyrieann 2 years ago
Ooooh..."Gamera Vs Guilala"! That would be totally cool!
But yeah, the website showed a picture of a crab-like crustecean. Obviously the one in this movie would have been vastly mutated and souped-up.
