Bloodandbones** i dont care if he was your ascendant uncle or whatever... the correct title for the waltz is "Sobre las olas" in SPANISH wheather you like it or not! Juventino Rosas was born and lived in Mexico and spoke Spanish.
It might be "Sobre las Olas", but I immediately picture the circus .. the graceful flyers on the trapeze, high wire walkers, and even magicians! Hermosa mustic!
Very Beautiful rendition of the extremely popular waltz - "Over the Waves" authored by the legendary Mexican Juventino Rosas, is very much known and cherished even today among us in Sri Lanka!
Please Juventino Rosas the author of this waltz could be prouder if everybody play it and say the name in Spanish, he wanted people to believe that he was from Mexico even he was not proud of it because nobody believe in his talent. Sobre las Olas, it is just wonderful!!!!
Gorgeous rendition! I actually recently 'discovered' Mr. Horlic's music from a cache of old records a neighbor was throwing out! I've now 'inherited' (or shall I say found) a treasure trove of Americana, and my garage has turned into a 'big band/swing era' and classic old orchestras MUSEUM!!! I am humbled by the beauty of this decades old music.
this is mexican art of musik!!! im honored to have gone to his home town santa cruz ahoraa juventino rosas!!! viva mexico!! arriba guanajuatoo!! daaym
¡Greetings for this orchestra! This performance the most accurate I've found of the original composition, and is played beatifully. Thank you por posting it.
