A treble booster can be harsh, but you can get the best out of it if you roll off your guitar's volume & tone knobs and use the neck pu, just like an old fuzz face.

I'm bummed..... My treble-booster (Analog Man NKT Beano Boost) is away on business (A friend of mine wanted to build a treble-booster with some parts he has kicking around [not to sell], so he needed a faithful treble-booster clone as a study-guide). I miss my booster. It's purty.

ive got an older version of the germania 44 its yellow and does not have that eq switch thing, but can recomend it it kicks ass perfect biteing sustain (very fuzz like) i run mine in a pedalboard next to my ibanez tubescreamer, and mxr micro amp into marshall bluesbreaker or on smaller gigs my orange rocker and either combination the pedal works a treat. great demo nice boots,bet the cat has tinitus lol..

@Ncuab That's the way it sounded to me, but as you said gear will make a difference. I'm not sure the 44 is worth the extra $40.00 especially given the fact you have to give up that sexy purple sparkle pain.

There is so much variation between individual Germanium transistors that I think that can make as much difference as whether or not they are the same type, especially in such a simple circuit.

I just ordered one of these, been looking for that classic Rory Gallagher treble booster sound and it looks like this is going to do it.

Btw, my cat does the same thing (your cat's the same breed as mine too haha). I'll crank my 100 watt half stack and she'll still fall asleep on my bed hahaha. I usually make her leave though, I don't want to make her deaf!

What about you though? Personally, I started wearing earplugs recently (after experiencing some high-frequency distortion in my left ear that took a month to go away). I can't get loud at home, so I don't need them there, but when I'm playing out, I use them for sure now. Let the other guy be the idiot.

The 44 sounds like it has just a tiny bit of that germanium tone to it, but I can't tell. It's not a huge difference, It might just be that he had it sitting by a window and it was warmer even.

Also the audio on youtube is sorta shitty so I can't tell, but it's reeeaaally close.

Not much of a fan of treble boosters, but these both sound really nice. There's not really too much of a difference, but if I had to go with one....I dont know. This is the hardest time I've ever had choosing one. I guess I'd take both, cause they sounded purty bitchin together.
