If you don't know what you are talking about in terms of the psychiatric system and its treatment from the point of view of its service users (and it would seem that you do not), then please do a little research into the subject in order to be able to make informed comment. Glib remarks such as yours drive people who are suicidally depressed further towards suicide.

Although I don't like most of Royksopp's music after Melody AM, this one was just as inspired as the music on that album, in a different mind you. I love the music and the video, it is very haunting, and it is what introduced me to "The Knife", so it gets points for that as well. I wish Royksopp would have kept making music that was this awesome, now they're music is not a rewarding over a long period of time. :(

I went to see them live during the tour of their latest album (mostly because Fever Ray was supporting, Karin, of course, was incredible, and appeared during a lot of Royksopp's performances) but they remixed the Melody AM tracks so much to suit the dance-sound of the newer albums that it just kind of ruined their music for me. It's a real shame.

I think personal experiences tell us what were seeing. For me this song is actually about looking for people or friends. Feeling alone and wandering alone, yet with a since of comfort and happiness (the blanket scene) But as the video goes on the scenes get more and more hectic. She sees now what the world and nature can do when your just alone, your useless without outhers, you can't do much but just thrown around like a ragdoll --->CONT

Art IS by your own interpretation. If a man writes a heartfelt song describing his indefatigable love towards a woman named Sarah, with your explanation you are saying only someone who loves that same Sarah could connect with it. A true artist never reveals actual meaning, he/she leaves the task to the one indulging in it, ergo, it should be only what one deems it to be, seen as how there is no correct answer. An artist should know that. I'm guessing you're a religious person. Just a hunch.

What is, will always be what is, obviously. But what you feel about what is makes the difference. Ice is cold, doesn't mean it makes you unhappy. You cannot just define truth from a piece of art/poetry, regardless how many universal feelings may be present. Besides, don't look at music videos for meaning, 90% of the times they aren't even influenced by the band or song.

Interesting "world-view." The narrative throughout this vid is consistent, constant, and ancient. Missing the theme(s) therein is unnecessary, a nihilistic approach to art, or interpretation thereof, is very Sartre, and very much your decision, but again, closing oneself to the broader spectrum is not wise, no matter how much it hurts. All observation is tinged by personal experience, but certain themes reverberate throughout human history, (recorded) this video speaks to several of them.

Hey... well, Röyksopp as far as I know means 'smoking mushroom' or something like it... so are mushrooms what you see.

røyksopp is an own group in the mushroom family, but if it's translated werry black on white it would apear as smoking mushrooms, if you step on one of theese mushroom a yellow/green cloud of spores(seeds) comes out of it, wich is where they got their name from

hey 1rausch, I am going to chime in and try: In my mind they are supposed to be "signal fires" but the fact that they are only smoking (more than burning bright) speaks to the general confusion about love that the video seems to impart.
