Out of all groups in my fave list, this group is the only one most-unlikely to be bash by Kpop fans. Are you blind? I myself, who doesn't really like Kpop knows a lot about Kpop groups I don't want to bash blindly and why don't you look for information on this group too. They're a little bit popular now and bashes arrive already. This song is the theme for Tamagotchi, look what tamagotchi is. That alone is enough to explain to you. If you dislike this, check Dandan grow up and shut your mouth
smh at the comments here... for anyone judging jpop just based on one song.. wow.. i have to say, you know absolutely nothing o_o There are music that are catered for kids, some for adults, some for a WIDE range of audience, some for those who enjoy instrumental music. How can u just judge an entire music industry base on just this song huh that's ridiculous -.-
For ppl who are judging this song... This group is a kids group. It's not for you to enjoy. It's for kids. If you don't know them or their aims.. then don't talk about them or even check them.
Excuse Jpop for being a POP for ALL people in all ages.
Wow, even on videos that are the furthest thing from K-Pop, it is still being brought up. Who gives a fuck about K-Pop... well I mean I like K-Pop too (but I like J-Pop way more, it was the original, and will always be the best imo) but seriously, this video has nothing to do with K-Pop so give it a fucking rest.
@wai3ful that is just the thing, people are so sick of horrible cute music made for 60 year old men, that KPOP is actually refreshing and sells... no wonder the companies that own all major korean bands want them to debut in Japan... they sell well.
@ohianjo I hope you know that the cute style only got famous in 2000s. Jpop in 90s wasn't cutesy. It was cool and fierce. That's why many Kpop artists admire Jpop artists. Groups such as SPEED, MAX, Dream, Flower, Happiness and Fairies are not "horrible cute music made for 60yrs old men". Also, it's a fact that Jpop sells better than Kpop. Did you know that AKB48 hold the 1st + 2nd+3rd +5th position for best first week sales since 1999 WORLDWIDE?! Btw, they have FEW old men as their fans lol
@wai3ful I don't think so. I follow some K-pop groups and some have been promoting in Japan, and they recieve a lot of popularity. Also, sm town was sold out, and it is a k-pop thing.. Oh, and just recently a k-pop group Girls' Generation had a number 1 album in japan. ^_^
@bananawafflez I'm a fan of both pops. And I'm a SONE. Their album is not #1 i Japan. Korean sources said it sold 800,000 but the original Japanese sources said 600,000. I hope you know that SM and YG pay money to make their groups famous. Did you know that there was a poster in Hanada airport promosing ppl to give them money if they greeted a certain Kpop group?
I'm not saying they're not doing good. But they're not taking over.
@wai3ful Oh. Well it was #1 in the japan itunes, but I dunno. And kpop groups aren't desperate to debut in japan, their companies are. Most people in kpop groups are just entertainers, they're just puppets to their companies xD
And true, Korea does exaggerate the popularity of K-pop. Not just in Japan, but everywhere. And K-pop is more popular than j-pop on an international level, but I agree, they're not taking over like they say. xD
@bananawafflez In Japan, not ALL groups release their songs in itunes. You have to BUY the copy, not download it. Jpop is is very different from Kpop, that's why I hate it when ppl compare them. Kpop is more popular internationally because they promote themselves. Jpop doesn't. It's rare to find FULL MVs for Jpop in youtube. The titles are always in Japanese so it's hard for foreign ppl to find them.
I think it's amazing enough that Jpop is this popular without promotions! I'm an Arab fan, btw.
And I think what makes j-pop popular outside of japan is anime. Most foreign people discover it by being interested in anime. At least that's the case with most j-pop fans I know. And most j-pop videos are not on youtube because japan is strict with its copyright laws. You'll have to go to a japanese site and watch them. :o
@wai3ful Umm,kpop fans discovered kpop through jpop? Yeah, I don't think so... Anyways, I'm ending this conversation, because neither of us is Japanese, so both of us really don't know these things, and stuff like that. Also, we're just assuming things now, which isn't a legitimate conversation anymore. Have a good day! ^_^
@bananawafflez I didn't say "kpop fans discovered kpop through jpop".. I said "Most" which means not all. And, yes. You'll see that many Kpop fans are either ex-jpop fans or.. fans of both pops. Kpop got its popularity worldwide in 2008. Jpop got it in 2006. Jpop didn't seize that chance as they didn't promote themselves (cuz Japan is different) but Korea seized that chance and promoted its group while debuting many new groups.
@wai3ful J-pop promotes itself all the time. Comic-con, expos, etc. I remember some j-rock group also toured in the us with some other american rock group.Avex, universal music jp, akb48, and some other japanese music companies have their own youtube channel.Youtube is how foreign companies/groups spread themselves worldwide.I can tell you're j-pop biased, and k-pop & j-pop are totally different. "most" k-pop fans didn't discover it from j-pop, you're just making stuff up.
@KirbyFanatic1001 LOL That's not real promoting. The ones who get to go there are always groups with the cutesy style. Some call it "Anime-style". Jpop is not just that. I'm a fan of both pops, so I know what I'm talking about, dear. And, why are you bringing Jrock to this topic? I don't remember talking about it lol.
If you think that Comic-cons and expos are promoting Jpop then, mind you, you don't know Jpop because you think the groups who go there are "JPOP".
@KirbyFanatic1001 Official channels? But that's RECENT. And not all groups! Only H!P groups + AKB. Other groups either upload short versions or NEVER (some upload full versions after the song becomes old and stops selling).
Oh, look who's telling me that the two pops are different.... Didn't I say that MYSELF in some comment here?
@wai3ful Anime is not as popular in the states as it once used to be but it is still a great form of entertainment in Japan, the frenzy has died down but not to the extent that it has in the States. Jpop was not always that big in the first place with Anime, more so JRock. With Kpop and Jpop that is a yes and no answer. Kpop started to get attention because many of their groups now hold top spots on Oricon charts with their songs.
@auron21 But Oricon has nothing to do with Kpop's popularity. As someone who follows news from Japan's AND Korea's media. Let me tell you that Korean media make big news out of everything. For ex: a kpop group got #1 in oricon DAILY. Their fans would party but in reality.. it's nothing big in Japan. The ONLY Kpop groups that are doing good in Japan are TVXQ + Kara. SNSD and BoA are not as awesome as they used to be (in Japan).
@wai3ful I lived in Japan so I know first hand about the media. That wasn't my point though, because of the Oricon charts and Kpop artists charting on there...their popularity gained and people started to check their korean singles and albums. Basically it is a promotional outlet for people to come check the artists out...added with their television promotions and what not.
@auron21 LOL Dear. I know Japanese charts very well. Actually I am someone who brings Japanese articles to the international fandom. Korean groups choose good dates to release their stuff. In other words, they choose dates when there aren't famous Jpop artists releasing stuff so that they would get good ranks. And their sales aren't great except for Kara, SNSD and TVXQ.The many others are all..flops. and i hate how korean media lies. for ex: they said 2pm sold 74k but in reality, they sold 40k.
@bananawafflez One more thing.. there was a Korean report saying that a certain All-Kpop concert in Japan was sold out saying "A full show of 50,000 fans". But in fact, the hall only contains 23,000 seats. Plus, the second floor was closed.
So don't believe anything Korean media reports about K-groups in Japan, really.
these kinds of songs look like children songs but apparently teenagers in japan listen to this. I wouldn't even be surprised if the people in this group were actually 20 years old or something lmao
Assuming the kids enjoy it, it looks like Japan's somewhat of a paradise for kids that want to entertain through performance or song. Kudos to the agencies giving kids like this a chance - you'll seldom find this in South Africa.
@SibSpi Japan is also a paradise for pedophiles. Magazines with 11-15 years old models in swimsuits are common there. I don't know for sure, but I thought Japan had the most pedophiles in the world.
@goboy51 Oh yeah, I'm well aware of their 'idol' magazines - what I mean is kids that actually enjoy performing get the opportunity to do so. I mean, look at the western world - technically it's no different. You can find photos of Justin Bieber posing around in boxer shorts quite easily. Sure, he may not be a girl, but a pedo's a pedo regardless of their target sex.
@SibSpi Yeah but JB is 17. I do agree though that we have similiar cases here in the West. Look at the Toddlers&Tiaras serie in the US. I even saw a beauty pageant with a three-day old baby! The mother was like: "she (the baby) did good. She didn't cry and did not fell asleep". I don't understand why they don't ban these kind of things.
Btw I also agree with you that it's good that children get the opportunity to perform. Although I think children should take it easy and enjoy their childhood.
@aznsorawarrior the girls are Kotori (15) Lead singer with short hair, Momona (14) Beauty on the far left, Mikoto (13) Lead singer with long hair and now the tallest in the group and Yuuno (12) Cutie on the far right. The boy, Akira is 14.
