Actually, the video "freedom from conscience - psychopaths" describes why psychopaths have all the traits needed to do well in politics. I would say that on a per capita basis Washington DC has more psychopaths than anyplace else on earth.
What i hate about psychologists of our day is that they don't look past personality disorders and disorders in general because that is what makes them money, and gives them in this case, fame. They don't look at personality type, neither do they think outside the box of looking at what an inspiring figure Obama actually is and how his charisma is inspiring and thrilling. There are many that have had bad childhoods but they don't become full blown NPD. Many people can become strong and have a few traits of Narcissism which make them get up out of bed in the morning. Some that have been through bad childhoods end up having a lot of empathy for those less off than themselves. Not all develop NPD.

Thanks for the friend invite marty. I came across SV's pages while researching Fidel Castro's narcissism for an academic paper. Naturally I had to cite Kernberg et al. I've been a fan of Sam Vaknin for quite a while. I was surprised to come across the same article on the Web just a couple of hours ago & even more so to find this video here. Interesting, isn't it? Sam's pages on the Web are worth reading.
Right, this Sam Vaknin is an offcially diagnosed narcissist himself and therefore an authority on the subject. He is however NOT a psychologist, though he pretends to be one. This coming from a narcissist source makes it highly suspect, Mr. Vaknin does ANYTHING to be in the spotlights.
I met my first narcissist in 2010 - I was taken in by him and got away from him after I diagnosed him as a sociopath and narcissist - he was abused by his father and that is what makes his terrible view and scary life style - these three years with Obama I can see it so clearly that he is a narcissist and probably a sociopath - his decisions are death to our country

What i hate about psychologists of our day is that they don't look past personality disorders and disorders in general because that is what makes them money, and gives them in this case, fame. They don't look at personality type, neither do they think outside the box of looking at what an inspiring figure Obama actually is and how his charisma is inspiring and thrilling. It is the same kind of power he holds as Hitler, but he uses his power for good. He is not narcissistic. He is a born leader.

I've always thought it was a given that anyone who becomes president/prime minister is likely a narcissist.
I'm sorry to sound so cynical, but there is a difference between being and doing actual good, and working the media/camera/sound bite machine so as to be percieved as being good. They are two very distinct sets of skills, and it it the latter which gets people elected, not the former.

There are many that have had bad childhoods but they don't become full blown NPD. Many people can become strong and have a few traits of Narcissism which make them get up out of bed in the morning. Some that have been through bad childhoods end up having a lot of empathy for those less off than themselves. Not all develop NPD.
Bush also was diagnosed by Sam Vakrin as having NPD. Clinton also is NPD and with Hilary. Clinton and Hilary were getting counselling.

So when you reply to someone with a snarky, bitter message out of the blue with no explanation, its part of your free speech rights which everyone should respect. But when they respond to you with something you don't like, its a case where they should "shut up."

Let's take a look at the actual change he did accomplish: He said "I'll solve the debt problem by raising the national debt from 9 trillion to 11 trillion. Is that how you run your finances? Secondly, he has abused his executive privlege by thumbing his nose at Congress by issuing 9 executive orders in his first three weeks of the presidency. thirdly, he never was a congressional professor.

National unemployment has not decreased significantly since the year he has been in office which was what the stimulus package was supposed to do but instead only created more debt. Obama has NO experience in running anything. And the only reason he got elected was because of his skin color. He is unqualified in every aspect possible. He has no experience in economics, fiscal theory and his health care reform is a joke.

What else would drive them to seek the most powerful political position in the world and lead them to believe they had the ability to affect positive change?

Thanks for the friend invite marty. I came across SV's pages while researching Fidel Castro's narcissism for an academic paper. Naturally I had to cite Kernberg et al. So, I'm acquainted with the subject academically. What got me interested in Dr. Sam PhD's page was his own biography, which I couldn't seem to find last time I went into his pages.
