  • Like a good wine, she is better with age. Beautiful woman.

  • That was awesome!

  • She and Katherine Hepburn were the only actresses that could handle John Wayne. She was absolutely wonderful in "The Quiet Man".

  • I'm 18 years old, and I LOVE WML and Maureen O'Hara!!!!

  • can't get around Arlene - she's a sharp cookie.

  • Soooooooo beautiful.

  • a beautiful, immensely talented woman with charm and class......and I can't recall a single scandel. Thank you for posting this.

Her episode of 'This is Your Life' is also very entertaining. Check it out.

  • Maureen should be remembered as one of the most beautiful women of all time.... Absolutely stunning!

  • @irishcowboy42 I have been in love with her for 50 years...she has always been one of my favorite actresses...

  • @irishcowboy42 Absolutely right!

  • Maureen O'Hara is a 100% gorgeous woman...!!! I love her in "Mircale of 34th Street" (1947), the forever Christmas classic with a young Natalie Wood, and "McLintock!" (1963), the comedy/western with the legendary John Wayne...!!! She's the "all woman": meaning she can act and she has the lady-like gorgeous looks...!!!

  • She played "Jane" in the Tarzan movies and is the mother of Mia Farrow..she quit acting to raise a family like a proper woman should do..

  • @uselessjoe Pretty sure you mean Maureen O'Sullivan...

  • Holy Mother of Gorgeous.

  • Not too many woman can look as good as Maureen O'Hara at age 39. Check out the trailer for the technicolor film, The Spanish Main-1945-when she seduces Paul Henreid. She had to be the most beautiful woman in the world at that time. Only Virginia Mayo could hold a candle too her.

  • A lovely, lovely woman! Loved her in many of her movies especially "The Quiet Man."

  • Kilgallen was incredibly unattractive. She resembles some rabid Poodle in this episode.

  • Dorothy looks unbelievably gorgeous here, along of course with Maureen. D.K.'s earrings are quite striking. Rarely has she looked better than this.

  • She is so stunningly beautiful! It is utterly incredible she never received an Oscar for wonderful talent.

  • What an absolutely beautiful looking woman

  • @galileocan Right on!!!! Maureen was, and still is an absolutely gorgeous woman.....

  • The age of good manners! And graciousness. I miss it.

  • what a beauty!!

  • A VERY beautiful lady!!

  • M;O;Hara arguably the most beautiful Natural Red-head that ever lived... pretty close who was more beautiful O'Hara or Rhonda Fleming , as John Wayne would say "so close i'd hate to have to live on the difference". Oh and let us not forget Ann-Margret who is right there with them. OMG now i'm thinking Arlene Dahl, Rita Hayworth, Jeanne Crain, Susan Hayward, Jill St John, Nicole Kidman . Yikes i better stop lol.

  • Good grief, Maureen O'Hara was gorgeous!!

  • Why did she say she was American?? :( very sad

  • @Sportymike She's a citizen of the United States and Ireland.

  • @Sportymike She made her living and gained her fame by staring in American movies and she lived in the U.S. Lots of immigrants called themselves "American" and rightly so. They owed their fame and fortune to America and Americans. What is sad about that?

  • does anyone know martin gables was the fantastic voice of the NFL (national football league) documentaries & filmed commentaries during the end of his life.

i'll never forget his voice describing vince lombardi & the green bay packers! and, believe it or not, when i was a kid, the ny giants (y.a. tittle & frank gifford et al) were our team cause it was before the AFL came into existence!

hey and i'm from new england, a fan of the pats and gay!!! stick that in your pipe and smoke it!

  • I love Maureen. Such a classy, beautiful lady.

  • @snicklefritzie "let's get together...yeah, yeah, yeah"!

  • Maureen is a beautiful woman. She was always gorgeous, but I think she got even prettier towards middle age. Right here in this video from 1959 at age 39, and then in The Parent Trap a couple of years later, in which she stole the movie with her beauty and wit. She is an awesome lady.

  • @SoCalGal52 "let's get together, yeah, yeah, yeah"!

  • I personally love how the blonde, bespectacled man seemed to suss out that she was a ginger before any of the others. Watch his leading questions.. When you look in the mirror, are you blonde? Can I take for granted that you are a brunette, then? ;)

  • Wow she's so pretty

  • What a lovely woman! I really like her. She would be so fun to just sit and talk to.

    Ginger

  • somebody snorts at 3:05

  • Maureen is perfection.

  • Simply stunning in her beauty.

  • wow!! absurdly beautiful..

  • wow, stunning. please tell me she thought john wayne's politics were despicable.

  • @tomitstube No they were best friends and Even though I don't think Maureen was really into Politics I think her views line with Republican maybe not as devoted (I don't no if that makes sense) but I'm a democrat and i didn't think wayne politics were despicable

  • @tomitstube Why don't you, first, explain John Wayne's politics? That's sort of how things work. You explain why something is wrong, explore alternatives and create a better idea. I'd bet that you don't know jack or shit about John Wayne's political views, but you will certainly go to Wikipedia and point out how I'm really wrong.

  • @volumeguy ~ john wayne's legend and icon are myth. his bravery and patriotism is propaganda. after using deferments to say out of ww2, (he made millions while his competition was gone), he went on a 40 year crusade of turning in fellow actors as communists and calling vietnam war protesters "traitors and cowards".

he was an admitted racist and homophobe who championed "christian values" while being married three times, a chronic adulterer, an alcoholic, a drug addict, and a wife abuser.

  • @tomitstube - Homophobe? The word didn't even exist at the time. When John Wayne made The Quiet Man, homosexuality was considered a mental illness in most psychiatric circles. It wasn't until the APA was taken over by a few "gay" administrators, that the lie that homosexuality was normal, began to be taught.

  • @Dajuro ~ yes "homophobe", he made remarks to that effect. john wayne was a hypocrite and bigot in every sense. besides, there's a healthy christian conservative majority today that's homophobic. which wayne would no doubt be a part of, he'd be on the side of idiots like john mccain and other high ranking mliltary ignorantly saying homosexuals aren't capable of serving. even tho they always have. it isn't a matter of the era, it's a matter of ignorance and bigotry.

  • @tomitstube

Go and talk about John Wayne on his videos and leave Maureen O'Hara alone.

  • @lizzyvance ~ it started with a question about her relationship with john wayne. i was curious about her politics and if she found wayne's pathetic behavior objectionable or agreed with it.

  • @tomitstube

Oh okay. If I came off as annoyed it’s because this happens on her other videos it gets little annoying when people argue about John Wayne on her videos. I go there to discuss her if you know what I’m saying. I have no idea about that stuff. I just like her as actress.

  • @lizzyvance ~ i hear you, it got a little out of hand. you know how it does. i knew john wayne was turning in actors and condemning them for their political affiliations during the mcarthy witch-hunts, there was great division in hollywood during the 50's. i'm curious about those types of things and where people stood. i used to like irene dunne until i found out she was another one of the rats.

  • @tomitstube

I understand. Thanks for understand what I was saying. Have great day.

  • @tomitstube Yeah, because those people that John Wayne "supposedly" turned in were so innocent? They weren't and I don't feel sorry for any of them. They were still able to live a pretty darn good life while defending commies, while gulags were being filled up with people who had no freedom and were being tortured and starved to death. You want to call them witch hunts? Do you think it is any different today for conservative actors who can't get work b'cuz of the lefties who run Hollywood? Nope.

  • @SoCalGal52 ~2) and these fake patriots you defend even called president eisenhower a "commie", and said the government was 50% "commie". they were tools for a defense industry that sold taxpayers weapons of mass destruction for the cold war, eisenhower even warned us of this military complex and said the "red scare" was overblown.

none of these people supported stalin or gulags, not a single shred of evidence supports this.

it was a political witch hunt that ruined many good americans.

  • @tomitstube Bogart and a bunch of Hollywood liberals went to D.C. to defend their writer friends by stating they weren't commies, but when he got there, he became infuriated when he found out he had been duped and lied too by the likes of Dalton Trumbo and others when he found out they were commies. Bogie screamed and said "You lied to me, you used me. I am no damn Communist.!" Libs like you will never get it. I'm glad there were patriots in Hollywood who stood up, unlike 2day. God Bless Them.

  • @SoCalGal52 ~ 1) you have no idea what you're talking about. most of these people were only mildly associated with the communist party, many were made guilty by association, and those who had been communist or socialist, had done so in the distant past, they were americans foremost, and to be accused of being unamerican was complete nonsense. it was a witch hunt by corporate fascists, the john birch society and the like, complete loons. these people were ruined for simply supporting labor.

  • @tomitstube

The Verona Intercepts have shown that that probably wasn't true.

  • @spc6767 ~ you're are confusing a secret counter intelligence program with the huac. also, venona is widely disputed in it's effectiveness and results, and it had nothing to do with the vilifying of people being hauled before congress. huac and mccarthyism, and the anti-communist hysteria surrounding it, was a witch hunt that did not produce a single act of espionage. hollywood was always an enemy of right wing morality nuts in this country. huac was a political witch hunt.

  • @tomitstube What was his pathetic behavior?

  • @tomitstube - and tell us this: Just how large is that plank in YOUR EYE?

  • @tinketteful ~ about as big as the one stuck up your ass.

  • Maureen O'Hara inexplicably and shamefully was never even nominated for an Oscar! She is now over 90 years old (but still vibrant and healthy) and one of the last remaining talents of the Silver Screen era. I think we all need write to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (oscars.org) and demand that they recognize her with an honorary Oscar this coming year...

  • @stickstr8up I been saying that for years now makes me so mad that they haven't done iet yet.

  • @stickstr8up I've come to realize the Oscars are a joke....they've messed up more than once.

  • @stickstr8up - or at least a 'lifetime acheivement' award. My goodness, people everwhere still seek her films out to watch - she's so beautiful and such a great actress that she's interesting to watch. Her films with John Wayne are classics. Love "The Quiet Man."

  • To Seafree - Thank you for uploading this WML - Maureen O'Hara. Just a bit of information

My Mother looked like Maureen O'Hara when she was young and could have passed for

her sister. I always felt she was one of the most beautiful women in the Movies.. Must be the Irish Charm.. I would love to visit Ireland some day.

  • 4:15 bahaaa she's so gorgeous and funny !!! <3

  • very pretty, and seemed like genuinely sweet person. I wish she'd gotten a few more meatier roles.

  • One of the greatest if not the greatest beauty of the Silver Screen

  • So beautiful!

  • What a face! What a smile! What a star!

  • She was just so undeniably lovely

  • Also, Arlene is on a freakin roll lol

  • Maureen O'Hara is the most beautiful woman that was ever in show business in my book. Such a lady :)

  • a glimpse of class. I'm so glad I don't watch modern tv.

  • The audience laughs at 3:37 because Maureen can't figure out whether she is American and the audience takes it for granted that she is (she was born in Ireland).

  • My GOSH she is GORGEOUS! She is one of my absolute favorites! Her and John Wayne are the bests! I love her handwriting too :)

  • Talented and beautiful as she is, Maureen O'Hara has never even been nominated for an Oscar! The Academy really should give her an honorary award because she is a true screen legend. Somebody should start a facebook movement to give her an Oscar before she dies.

  • Holy crap, Arlene and Martin showing a small amount of affection! :D They are so cute.

  • Such a gorgeous woman...loved her!

  • Gawd, she was beautiful!

  • Actually, the name of the movie that Lucille Ball and Maureen O'Hara fight in is dance girl dance from 1940. I left out the girl from the earlier post I made.

  • I love her, Watch her and lucille ball fight from a 1940 film called dance dance, it is funny to see 2 redheads in a catfight.

  • She said she was born in America, but she was Irish

  • @TheMerriamLookout she didn't say she was born in America, she said she became a America Citizen, so she was an american just not native born.

  • 90 and still goin

  • 5:23 They're just too cute - love it! :-)

  • The more I watch these "special guest" eps, I believe they were set ups. I know there were not many redhead's in Hollywood, at the time. It seems (to me) to be nothing more than promotion. Anything wrong with that? Nope. I still enjoy them. I do prefer the regular part of the show, which I totally believe to have been on the level.

  • @kyokogodai Promotion to what? Maureen was a big actress so her name would be enough for promotion not her red hair, unless you mean she on it bc promoting her being the Perry como show which is true but most actors went on that show for that reason

  • @MaureenOHaraFan Love Maureen O'Hara. My comment about "redhead's" was in reference to one of the questions from the panel. And, i did comment that there was nothing wrong with the promotion.

  • Class defined

  • If she whispered in my ear like she did John's at 3:36, I don't believe I'd be able to contain myself.

  • What a beauty and classy too.

  • she was inducted into the Western Performers Hall of Fame at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was also awarded the Golden Boot Award.

  • How beautiful!

  • She was gorgeous!

  • Wow, Maureen O'Hara is so gorgeous!

  • shes beautiful

  • This is one of the most awesome ladies of all time...The best of the Irish! Proud to share heritage with people like her!

  • What a classy beauty.. Ahhhhh

  • Wow, she is stunning! I love her signature too btw, people sure don't write like they used to!

  • Had the fortune to dine with this nice lady in March, 2010. She looks great at 89.

  • I love her reaction when Arlene asks if "Is this a TV program that has, at its head, a male or female star"

  • she is beautiful but talented actress to.

  • At the height of her beauty....

  • Wow! Beautiful!

  • wow, she is cutie

  • Indeed. Thanks very much.

  • what a gorgeous readhead!!!

  • Very charming how Martin kisses Arlene's hand after she pulls O'Hara's name out of thin air!
