  • Nice, I have the same bike, added Vance & Hines short shots, Screamin Eagle Heavy Breather, stage 1 download and 17" Apes, theres a vid of it up on my page. Rubber Side Down!!!

  • Man, that's a great sound.

  • Does it make the difference after you put the torque cone?

  • I just bought a 2010 Harley Dyna Super Glide with forward controls on it today I was wondering if it was a good choice over the Sporster xl 1200c?

  • @turbospirites it ultimately depends upon what you want out of a motorcycle but in my opinion, yes, it is better due to the fact that you can do more with it.

  • Nice bike, I just bought a '09 Super Glide Custom myself.

  • HarleyDavidsonDaBest here! My bike is way better then your piece of junk! Rate my videos at HarleyDavidsonDaBest.

  • Your bike may be better, but you're a fag for getting on other people's vids to brag about it.

  • You will look gay too when your all dressed in the Harley leathers.

  • Gotta have pipes or you sound like a gay!

  • @MontySouth1 bull! gay is putting a modded and chromed up bike on a trailer and taking it somewhere to ride around town and pretend youre the real deal.

  • Ya man, for sure with the forward controls.

  • I purchased my 09 pewter pearl dyna in march... Don't mess around!! Add Rhinehart slip-ons, Barrons air filter and zippers thundermax with autotune and u won't be let down! Should cost around 1600.00... That's alot for your money and will truly sound and act like a Harley.

  • Just bought the same bike but an '06. Looks exactly the same with only 350 miles. Same pipes too. Mind if I ask wWhat kind of gloves you wearing?

  • I guess the after market pipes messing with your warranty all depends on where you go. My local HD dealer sells Vance and Hines pipes and said it would not mess with my warranty at all.

  • Nice Bike. I just got one myself after trading in a sporty. The FXD is an awesome ride.

  • Nice bike,I have an 08.I have added mini apes and some chrome. These bikes are really worth their money. With the 96 ci engine you can't go wrong.

  • I just bought a 2009 Dyna yesterday after I traded in my 2007 1220 Sportster. This is a much smoother ride and the power is there. I couldn't be happier!

  • phantasim, harleys r&d department says that the dyna chasis is the best setup that hd has ever had ( 2006 and later), so im glad you chose a dyna but your wrong about exhaust, there is so much junky exhaust that can hurt your bike, so chose carfully.

  • i was gonna get a set of either rinehart slip-ons or a set of rush slip-ons....

  • I just bought the same bike put rinehart slip ons new air cleaner and stage 1 download sounds like nothing else. You can't go wrong with exhaust on a Harley whatever you choose! Looking forward to the spring. Ride hard and Die free friends!

  • Yeah, I got the same exact bike you have (same year, color ect.) I love it! The only thing I don't like is the fact that it doesn't already come with forward controls...but thats changable.

I wonder if it will mess my warranty up if I throw some Vance & Hines pipes on it.

  • yes it will. putting aftermarket parts on your bike will void the warranty. i could be wrong though. ask your dealer about the specifics.

  • I asked the people at the Harley dealership and they said that it would srew up the warranty, so I'm goin for the V & H. Nice vid man.

  • I meant "wouldn't" lol

  • Yes and no. Hd says it will LIMIT and possibly void your warranty. if your dealer doesnt want to loose your buisness, they warranty stuff even if you have aftermarket pipes on it.

  • I put a set of V&H Big Radius on my 08 SuperGlide Custom. I had the dealer install the pipes, V&H VO2 air cleaner, and V&H Fuel Pak. Not quite sure about voiding the warranty though. If I remember right, they said it didn't. It wouldn't hurt to ask though.

  • Cool, so is it important to also add an air cleaner and fuel pak when installing better pipes?

  • I took mine to Williamsport Harley in Maryland. The service tecnician advised that if I was just getting a set of slip on mufflers, like the Screamin' Eagles, which I did at 1st, he said to run it for like 40-50 miles, then pull the spark plugs. When I put the Screamin' Eagles on, I ran it fine with no problems at all with the stock air cleaner and computer.

  • The new Screamin' Eagle pipes are only a few decimals louder than stock. That was a little too quiet for me for a performance set of pipes on my big twin lol. So, I looked into Vance and Hines, and they along with Harley recommended a performance air cleaner and either the fuel pack or Power Commander since I was looking at a complete system, with header pipes and all.

  • I'll tell you though, with the Vance and Hines pipes, my 08 SuperGlide Custom sounds so sweet. It has that perfect rumble I've always wanted... Pure unmistakable Harley-Davidson sound. I'm completely satisfied with them. And I had all three parts (the air cleaner, fuel pak, and the pipes) installed at the same time so I'm unsure if the air cleaner or fuel pak made much difference, but from over a stock Harley with Screamin' Eagles, to all the V&H goodies, you can feel a difference in performance

  • The SuperGlides are awesome. I was stationed in Kuwait and ordered my SuperGlide Custom while overseas for the US Military. Before I upgraded to the Custom, I ordered a SuperGlide just like this one too, same color and all. Only it was a 2008 model. The dash is what sold me on mine but part of me likes the dash on the SuperGlide better... I don't know. Ha ha Harley Davidson ROCKS! Good luck on your pipes. Let me know if I can help with any advice. I don't know everything, but I know a little lol

  • One of these days it warms up a little, I'll have to take mine out and clean it up and shoot a video and post it on here. It's loaded with all kinds of goodies... What else do you do with money you saved up in the middle of a desert and can't spend it on anything there? Ha ha

  • Hell yeah! There is no substitute for a Harley :)

The first thing to go on my bike is the stock pipes/exhaust , the mid-controls, and possibly the handlebars (I would'nt mind ape hangers...just not the HUGE ones). - Also, I like the superglide custom tank/dash a little better.

  • I'm actually thinking about getting a set of the fat mini apes. I love the internal wiring. It's much cleaner looking I think. And top that off with the chrome hand controls... That would be sweet:) I saw a couple guys riding around here with huge apes. That looks like it could get uncomfortable to me lol. Looks cool, but I'd like something just maybe a slight bit higher than my shoulder while riding. The stock bars are comfortable, but I'd like them a little higher. Merry Christmas by the way.

  • Yeah, I feel the same about shoulder-level ape hangers (slightly above). I'm going to the dealership tomorrow to look at Vance & Hines pipes and foward controls (no better time to customize than winter time lol). Hope yall had a good Christmas and have a happy new year...Keep ridin'!

  • Your SuperGlide comes factory with the mini pull back bar, doesn't it? That's what my Custom came with. I checked with Harley... I also need to change out my risers, brake, thottle, and clutch cables, along with the mini apes. The electric wiring is what is throwing me off a little. Have you seen the Cross Bones? That's what I like. I need a Dark Custom lol. Chrome is cool, but sometimes I like something that just isn't all that flashy... You know, the "Hey look at me."

  • Don't get me wrong though... My SuperGlide Custom isn't going anywhere lol. It was my first thing on two wheels, and more importantly, my first Harley. It's sentimental:) When I do get another Harley someday, the SuperGlide Custom is going under glass in my living room.., maybe build a bar around it. Ha ha

  • I love my dash console, but I saw you can get a chrome dash console kit through Harley for your SuperGlide... That I love! I think it looks awesome on the SuperGlide tank. The aircraft style fuel door is what I like most about yours. Again, it's clean looking. Of course, I could get the flush mount fuel cap and gauge for mine, but... Waiting on the economy to straighten back up before I start dumping more into my baby:) Ha ha

  • For the handlebars, I guess I'm looking for something that is about like the factory Street Bob or 2008 Dyna Wide Glide bars. That's the best way I guess I can describe it.

  • Hey:) Just uploaded two videos of my SuperGlide Custom. They were taken with a camera, but it will give you a good idea of what the V&H sounds like. Check it out when you get the chance.

  • By the way, you'll love the Vance and Hines:) Awesome pipes! And I swapped out my nid controls for the forward set. That was my 1st install, along with the chrome inner primary. Forward controls were definitely worth it, especially if your like 6ft tall like me lol.
