I did a report on Huesca years ago. He was strongly influenced by Vai. Vai heard of Huesca, recognized his talent, granted him to do guitar covers on any one of his songs and publish the cover for personal benefit on an album as long as he consulted Vai about it first.

So yeah, bottom line is Huesca was heavily influenced by Vai, and Vai is one hell of a cool dude.
