I ran into a WW2 Veteran a the gym when I was conducting my PT (Physical Training) and he told me that soldiers are far more better than those back then. I liked how they covered both the war in the Pacific and the war in Europe. Unfortunately, many people from generations post WWII relate WWII to the fighting that occurred in Europe, mainly against Hitler. However, some of the bloodiest and costly battles took place in the Pacific. This was a fantastic series.

It's a shame that this series seems to be focused almost entirely on the US.

But I guess it would be a lot more difficult to make this series about the whole war because of lack of high quality video footage.

I think "The World at War" will remain the ultimate WW2 documentary. It's also from the point of view of a single nation (britain) but it at least covers the war in it's entirety and spends 3 or 4 episodes on the all deciding eastern front.
