We are being robbed by the rich for their bad gambeling practices and they want a blank check given to them that we have not say how it is spent. They can get it and put in right straight to their pockets and there is no one that can say anyhthing about it. They want to have no one be looked at through any system of checks and ballances, just give them the money. Why not give this money to the people to pay off their loans, that way the banks get their money and the people keep their homes?

@givebirthathome It can't exactly be fixed, but it can be assuaged. Clinton saw to reduce the deficit by raising taxes and cutting spending. Presidents have the power to do things like that, so even if the economy can't be completely fixed in an administration, there are measures they can take to begin its revival.

Elliot Spitzer was investigating deregulation that the Bush administration was involved regarding the lending when the Bush administration took Spitzer out with the prostitution charge.

Carville is such a good propagandist. Maybe if he repeats "5 trillion dollar surplus" enough, people will believe that Clinton was better than Bush. The point is that no once should care. Clinton was a crook, Bush is a crook. Ok, so the problem is that we compulsively elect crooks.

With respect to the surplus, it's a result of the invention of the Internet and its effect on the productivity of the American worker, so I suppose Gore ought to take credit for it all, not Clinton, right?

Any fiscally responsible person would have taken the $Trillions in surplus and used it to upgrade the American Infrastructure to ensure future prosperity.
