  • i would happily sleep 2 nights to play there

  • we camped out in new jersey becuase we could get a campsite in NY.. (dumbass laws) and at the time we got there, we were 7th in line. so it wasnt even close to as packed as it was in the video. we got a 7:18 tee time and were done by noon. just an awesome day

  • got to the course at 3 am and chilled in/around our car to get the tickets for our tee time

  • Just played there yesterday.. easily the expierience of a lifetime. stayed for 3 days, played the blue green and black. a 300$ trip well worth it. around a 5 handicap i shot 81 from the back tees. pretty much played the round of my life.. at least had the putting round of my life. it was an experience ill remember for the lest of my life. i enjoyed the video too. brings back such good memories

  • @CBeast017 how did you get your tee time?

  • wait, how many days before they close for the us open?

  • its not just the rough, the length, the deep bunkers, and the height of shot needed to hold most of the greens

  • did u have to pay the 120 rate for non resident weekend ? what did u pay if not>.//?

  • @philmickelsonfan12 i actually paid $100 because i was set to play on friday, but it got rained out. they let us get back in the line up and play on saturday (1st time in bethpage history) and play for $100 on saturday. so we actually slept 2 nights in the parking lot.

  • simply ridiculous. as much as i love golf there is no fucing way i'm sleeping in my car to play this course. no fucking way. these guys probably don't have any lives outside of golf. lol.

  • @stackleft haha - part of the whole experience is sleeping in the car. it's worth it.

  • @mgos4012 maybe i'd do it once but that's all. i saw on the golf channel that there are guys that do this crap every weekend...at bethpage and torrey pines. i mean do any of these guys have girlfriends??? lol.

  • what is the music? with the piano?!!!

  • if you live on long island are you a resident, and can you call them to get a tee time anytime during the year?

  • Comment removed

  • I'm a resident, I hope to play there soon! :D

  • if i were a resident, i would play there at least once a year. :)

  • @mgos4012 i live down the block, play there 5 times a week, for my school team, well not the black course lol, that would get tiring.

  • @mgos4012 i live down the block, play there 5 times a week, for my school team, well not the black course lol, that would get tiring.

  • @mgos4012 you would want to play more, I play about 5 times a year as a resident

  • @mgos4012 how did you make your tee time?

  • green fee is 50$ for residents

  • @ 2:37 there is a photo of the chart for rates of the golf course.

  • #15 is the hardest hole in the world.......play over 500 yards in my book

  • I made a solid par on that hole, hit the green in regulation and lipped out the birdie putt.

  • lucky

  • how much is the greenfee there? bet its jackpot price

  • 2:37

  • Played Mon and Tu this week. Got there at 5:15 both mornings and we were the 35th car both mornings and had no problem getting a great time off the Black. Best golf experience of my life.

  • that's great man. it was my best golf experience as well. take it easy.

  • The image of hundreds of people sleeping in their cars and waking up at 430am to play golf has got to be just an awing sight. This is how golf should be, and congrats to u and justfielddamage88 on the low scores! I would love to play there one day, but I live in Texas, and considering I'm only 16 I might have to wait a little while before i get an oppurtunity haha

  • played it today it was 92 degrees took 5 1/2 hours i shot 83 2 birdies 3 doubles ,,,brutal track if youre not driving the ball well

  • congrats...that's one of the lower rounds i've heard. it's fun though isn't it. hope to play there again this fall.

  • Good job man!

been following the game in Eurosports here in Germany....you guys is lucky ohhh....i want to observe that too..being at the parking area waiting to get a tee time...Danm!! Bethpage a lot of bunker ohhh and rough.........

Great vid ....and i'd seen you missed your nice putt in this vid...

  • thanks man. the parking lot is also known as bethpage park hotel. just to give you an idea how man people sleep there.

  • Everyone was saying in the "Bethpage park hotel" that the rough is the hardest. A guy from USGA came up to me after evaluating my club, Mountain Ridge Country Club and asked me, "How the hell do you hit out of this rough? This is a good 3 inches higher than what they have at Bethpage Black." Keep in mind I'm 13. Mgos in addition to what I said, Good Job!

  • ohh and one other question! im not sure if you might remember but what did you make on hole #9. its the looooonnnngggggggg par 4 dogleg left with the undulating fairway and the steep bunker on the left. that hole looked like one of the hardest to me. thanks!

  • thanks for the comment - bogey'ed #9, it was a hard hole. For me, the hardest hole was #5 (i trippled it), it's a beast. #15 is the #1 handicap on the course.

  • nice man! i went to the open yesterday and you can't appreciate how hard that course is just from watching it on tv! and btw at :49 after the second round we saw phil, rocco, anthony kim, and mcilroy on the putting green. it was awesome.

  • it was sooooooo much fun. fastest 5.5 hour round of golf i've ever played. you play on 3 hours of sleep, but you're adrenaline takes over once on the first tee. didn't want the day to end.

  • Good video, looked fun even if you did have to sleep in your car.

  • Good video, looked fun even if you did have to sleep in your car.

  • Yer so lucky. Iv always wanted to play Bethpage Black.

  • it's the quintessential diehard golf experience here in the north east.

  • 2 days at the parking lot? i admire ur dedication, i would have been gone after atleast a day or so, good video

  • it'll be a terrific week for me, i'm routing for the course.

  • Thanks guys - that was really cool! I shared this video with all my golf peeps. It should be a terrific week if the weather holds up!

  • Who was ur caddy and was any good?

  • Jack was his name and he was really good. A guy in the 4-some got the caddie, and Jack helped spot all our tee shots (standing approx 250 yards down). At bethpage, since it is a public course, caddies are independently contracted. They used to hang out by the first tee, but business got viciously competitive. Now, you sign up for a caddie at the pro shop.

  • you look like you swing the club pretty well. better than at 13 or 14 handicap

  • thanks dude

  • thank you very much - yes, there is a blue course. just remember the caddie logo that represents the 5 courses. black shoes, yellow socks, blue pants, a red shirt and a green hat.

  • nice job .!! 100 very nice..!! playing BLACk is a once in a lifetime deal..!!

I'm playing right after the open like in 2002. No waiting for me...Hold it.→I dont live on Long Island anymore...so I guess Im sleepin' in the car.

Used to be EVERYONE had to sleep in the car to get a tee time...play was so slow---for the RED YELLOW AND GREEN.. I forgot is there a BLUE course too..??

  • Good Video....and song

  • best 100 bucks you'll ever shell out on golf.

  • that is such dedication!! luckily i live here in bethpage so all i dont have to sleep 2 nights in a parking lot to play the black haha. Im playing it for the first time next month so ill try to beat your 100 :)

  • dang them prices arent bad...im gonna do somethin like this sometime in my life..430 wakeup? big deal..its bethpage black! gotta be worth it

  • Whats the handicap requirements for playing on the course?

  • no handicap requirement for the course. however, there are a few holes you have to carry the ball about 230+ from the blues, 250+ from the championship tees. bear that in mind.

  • Nicely done, Were the tee boxes set-up for the US open? and can an amature play the exact set-up they have for the Open? for a true comparison?

  • thanks for the feedback - championship tees are usually closed to the public, however, you can sneak on them after the first tee.

  • nice!

  • Nice vid bro :)

  • Great vid man!

I'm heading down next week for the Open and have been talking about making the trip to play it for years. Hopefully the tournie and your video will push me over the edge.

    Cheers.

  • Great Video - I plan on making the trip down in September to do he same thing. How early would you suggest getting to the parking lot the day before?

  • thanks man - i would recommend getting there around noon the day before, but it really depends on day of the week and weather. you can also call bethpage general info. and get an idea.
