@pmurie I feel bad for him, I do, but he was alone in 0.1 in a cruiser and didn't pay attention. I have only played EVE for a little over 3 months, but I would never do that. Venturing into 0.4 can be dangerous enough. You never know when a random gate camp is up.
He's in .1 and bitching..Fail. Only time I have bitched about losing a ship is when my account got hacked and someone killed my tengu in a ship that would be one hit wonder by my ship. And they told me "we're pretty sure you shared account info with the person" Of course it wasn't on this level..I was pissed, but not that pissed..

Is it mean to blow up someone's ship while they are calmly mining? Sure is. But that's just how it is in Eve, to be quite honest. You know how no matter where you go in the world assholes abound? The same applies for Eve Online. Pay attention to your surroundings and you won't run into the assholes unless you want to.

Cold hard EVE fact number one: You can't trust anyone. So when you jump into .4 or lower, be ready to get attacked if you're doing some dumb shit like mining alone, in a cruiser. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

@SIG442 Some might, this guy doesn't. Really... 14 seconds to lock. You can be at a station or stargate or even a freaking moon long before the lock is finished unless you're getting scrambled. Which it sounds as if Daakkon wasn't doing. And it's 0.1 space, not 0.7 space. You should expect something like this to happen when anywhere under a .5 and you know it. Parallux simply doesn't have what it takes to play in low-sec.

Still leaves the whole pvp thing open, there should be a on/off switch for pvp. turn it on when you want to pvp, keep it turned off if you dont. problem solved. and no, I do NOT say you should be able to do this in a battle! Just as savety for noobs mostly so they dont do stupid things like this. or those that dont want pvp.
@SIG442 If CCP were to ever do that, it'd kill a lot of the game's economy. There are already steps that you can take to avoid PVP. Namely, paying attention to what's going on around you. Dunno about you, but when I'm out mining, I'm not sitting around listening to the hum of my strip miners. I'm keeping an eye on my overview. The moment you see an entry in Yellow or Red, you warp out and ditch your drones if need be. Better to lose a few grand on drones than a few million for a whole new ship.
@sabledrakon not all idiots are red or yellow, enough that make a new character, can flip even if they are well in the + or try to lure people with tests, can lures etc. Not realizing they are actually messing up the economy more then they think. noobs dont understand the whole griefer activities and they are well in their right to be pissed off and complaining about it. @SIG442 Dunno about you, but I've been playing for less than 6 months. In that time, I've learned quite a few things that have to be done to be successful. EVE's trademark is that it is punishing to those that do idiotic things. If you don't learn from it, woe to you and you end up like the guy in the vid. I would rather have EVE as it is than see it turn into an overly carebear friendly game. If I wanted that, I'd go back to WoW with all the other whiners.

@SIG442 For the record: I EXPECT IT! This is EVE, not some MMO that coddles you the whole way. This is the school of hard knocks. EVE in a lot of ways is reminiscent of the high seas of old. You didn't see people then complaining when their ships got pummeled with cannon fire. Why? That was everyday life back then. This is eve, about 90% of the players are over 18... most of them are in their mid 20-30's. its not really a game anymore since real money can be made if you know what your doing.

I haven't played in this game ever since a few months after it was released. And even that long ago, I can vouch for Daakkon. It is not only just a game, but it is a role playing game. Blowing shit up is what pirates do. He was simply playing his character.

@sarita065 depends on the gang man. My corp flys a lot of shield gangs, small fast frigs and cruisers with logi support. Not that much call for drake gangs right now with us but the odd rook is good to have around. For solo I use 150mm Auto tech 2 on T1 or T2 frigs for the most part Min but hey solo pvp is to taste and comes down to your skill at flying not just how many skill points you got :-) .. Do love my Drams lol but Rifters and Jags are fine as well.

Infiltrate that corporation and melt it down from the inside, take your revenge that way and turn a lost cruiser into billions of losses for your new enemies man. That is also game mechanics, so you lose a cruiser and you be patient, then they will lose much much more over attacking you over nothing.
I did that exact thing over losing a ship, they just attacked me for fun, I invested over a month destroying that corporation from the inside.
I remember when I was in my Tristen(?) frigate and I saw a great big amount of wreckages around a gate. Oh happy days, free loot! Wrong, I hadn't got halfway there when a group of 'pirates' jumped in a killed me. I raged and raged, thinking I was in the right. They shouldn't of killed me! That's griefing! I was an idiot. Here's some rules of thumb I use: IT'S YOUR OWN FAULT, THEY ARE NOT OUT TO GET YOU, THEY ARE NOT GRIEFING, CAREBEARS ARE ALWAYS WRONG. You die, get use to it.

@SIG442 Some might, this guy doesn't. Really... 14 seconds to lock. You can be at a station or stargate or even a freaking moon long before the lock is finished unless you're getting scrambled. Which it sounds as if Daakkon wasn't doing. And it's 0.1 space, not 0.7 space. You should expect something like this to happen when anywhere under a .5 and you know it. Parallux simply doesn't have what it takes to play in low-sec.

@sabledrakon true, I did say he doesn't belong there. Not with his game time experience anyway. Still leaves the whole pvp thing open, there should be a on/off switch for pvp. turn it on when you want to pvp, keep it turned off if you dont. problem solved. and no, I do NOT say you should be able to do this in a battle! Just as savety for noobs mostly so they dont do stupid things like this. or those that dont want pvp.

@SIG442 If CCP were to ever do that, it'd kill a lot of the game's economy. There are already steps that you can take to avoid PVP. Namely, paying attention to what's going on around you. Dunno about you, but when I'm out mining, I'm not sitting around listening to the hum of my strip miners. I'm keeping an eye on my overview. The moment you see an entry in Yellow or Red, you warp out and ditch your drones if need be. Better to lose a few grand on drones than a few million for a whole new ship.

@sabledrakon not all idiots are red or yellow, enough that make a new character, can flip even if they are well in the + or try to lure people with tests, can lures etc. Not realizing they are actually messing up the economy more then they think. noobs dont understand the whole griefer activities and they are well in their right to be pissed off and complaining about it. Its plain and simply making the game less attractive and thus people leave before they even had a chance. So yeah, not good.

@SIG442 Dunno about you, but I've been playing for less than 6 months. In that time, I've learned quite a few things that have to be done to be successful. EVE's trademark is that it is punishing to those that do idiotic things. If you don't learn from it, woe to you and you end up like the guy in the vid. I would rather have EVE as it is than see it turn into an overly carebear friendly game. If I wanted that, I'd go back to WoW with all the other whiners.

Meaning that idiots that keep fcking up others just for the fun, isk or what even their motive, will in the end actually kill the game for not just their victims, but also for everyone else including themselfs. So who is dumb now?

Really, you'd think that people would put 2 and 2 together and realize that taking things from yellow cans is going to get them killed. @SIG442 Most people complaining of being 'griefed' are making mistakes. This is EVE, not some carebear MMO. There's a phrase overstated by chefs: Don't like the heat, get out of the kitchen. That applies in EVE as well.

@SIG442 For the record: I EXPECT IT! This is EVE, not some MMO that coddles you the whole way. This is the school of hard knocks. EVE in a lot of ways is reminiscent of the high seas of old. You didn't see people then complaining when their ships got pummeled with cannon fire. Why? That was everyday life back then. EVE is the exact same way, only in space and with vastly more advanced technology. I don't complain when I get podded for exactly that reason. I accept what I'm getting into. Do you?

I haven't played in this game ever since a few months after it was released. And even that long ago, I can vouch for Daakkon. It is not only just a game, but it is a role playing game. Blowing shit up is what pirates do. He was simply playing his character.

@sarita065 depends on the gang man. My corp flys a lot of shield gangs, small fast frigs and cruisers with logi support. Not that much call for drake gangs right now with us but the odd rook is good to have around. For solo I use 150mm Auto tech 2 on T1 or T2 frigs for the most part Min but hey solo pvp is to taste and comes down to your skill at flying not just how many skill points you got :-) .. Do love my Drams lol but Rifters and Jags are fine as well.

Infiltrate that corporation and melt it down from the inside, take your revenge that way and turn a lost cruiser into billions of losses for your new enemies man. That is also game mechanics, so you lose a cruiser and you be patient, then they will lose much much more over attacking you over nothing.
I did that exact thing over losing a ship, they just attacked me for fun, I invested over a month destroying that corporation from the inside.

I remember when I was in my Tristen(?) frigate and I saw a great big amount of wreckages around a gate. Oh happy days, free loot! Wrong, I hadn't got halfway there when a group of 'pirates' jumped in a killed me. I raged and raged, thinking I was in the right. They shouldn't of killed me! That's griefing! I was an idiot. Here's some rules of thumb I use: IT'S YOUR OWN FAULT, THEY ARE NOT OUT TO GET YOU, THEY ARE NOT GRIEFING, CAREBEARS ARE ALWAYS WRONG. You die, get use to it.

lol i have been playing for only 3 months & i know better than that plus he is obivously one of those ppl that have no concept of tactic or economy his an old fashoned "gold rusher". as far as his defence i get annoyed about losing ships too, who doesnt but i only get mad with pod killers that is pirate basis it has no point normally unless its to punish someone for sever misconduct. otherly its all in fun stay the f* out of low sec if u dont like pirates, least they tried to be nice afterwards.
