  • lmao WTF is this !!!

  • Wow that was a nice tutorial on how to cut a hole?

  • he did not chaulk the inside of the box for air seal

  • You don't know how to work a tool worth shit. you overwork the blade and it dulls way faster. lol

  • nojodas yo no creo que hallas enseñado nada cuando subas algo que sea que valga la pena tomalo como un consejo no como un insulto

  • lmfao

  • wtf is this shit its just a guy cutting wood ;) im gay

  • Putting the speakers in the middle though are the best way, no matter what. Build the same box with the speakers in the middle and listen to both of them, and see for your-self.

  • Nice deap box though.

  • I'm thinking router.

  • can i know what type of the board is the best for making the subwoofer box

  • @MrSivajay MDF board. 3/4 inch is most common.

  • Interesting, but you should really get a circle jig! Makes your life easier.

  • @TheBigPotatoMan but in order to get a circle jig to use it you need a router and he might not have one

  • Boring!!!

  • get a circle jig... ftw !

  • 1. plywood comes in different grades, i for one LOVE birtch ply for boxes.

    2. buy a damn jasper jig and router if you're gonna build more then a handful of boxes. seriously.

  • Can I see a finished product pls, speakers and audio included.

  • thanks cant get those two minutes of my life back...so i might as well waste another minute with this comment

  • Amazing video!

  • Um, plywod is this sheets of wood glued together, and mdf is wood fibres glued together. theres a hughe difference, lol.

  • UR DUMB

  • hey i was looking a your video and i was wondering if i could get the measurements for your speaker design if possible

  • i hate making boxes you have to get the fucking dimensions right and all that shit

  • how the hell does this have over 300000 views?

  • wtf eh? nice holes

  • @clemsontigers95 Took you long enough to figure that out

  • Comment removed

  • why did 72 people like this vid

  • @clemsontigers95 now you learnt somthing new. that you can't read minds!!

  • @clemsontigers95 do you really think i havent noticed that!?!

  • too stupid

  • What the hell was the point of this video?????????????

  • MDF...always wear even a basic face mask even outdoors the dust is deadly.

  • I have a question.... I made a hole cut out too big for my sub.... What can I do to fix this besides build a new box?

  • @BastardRevolver U could just build a new face cover . Just a circular trim big enough to screw around d old hole . Imagine a circle Covering a smaller circle.

  • @rikstarmrz7 WHAT ABOUT THE ACOUSTICS? WILL THE SOUND BE COMPROMISED?

  • @BastardRevolver na, your tuning would stay virtually the same. The displacement inside the box would change by a small margin so u would b ok.

  • @OldSchoolSkill i dont gotta be safe i got free health care hahahahaha

  • WTF "building" a custom box...... idiot

  • wot a pointless wast ov time that vid was

  • @masterwood. Plywood is not bits of wood compressed. That's called osb ( oriented strand board ) plywood is thin sheets ( ply ) usually 1/8 in each that are compressed together. Osb is cheaper an a little not stronger. Doesnt flex as much as plywood

  • Who,s a clever boy then :)

  • I lost 2 minutes in my life watchin this asshole

  • @LAMBOCANDY What life? The life browsing youtube videos then complaining when your not satisfied. Well, that sucks for you buddy!

  • so i think you have to put damping material if you make a custom box ? and leave original boxes like that otherwise it will fuck up the bass quality ?

  • what is the name of the machine??? i need one to make my custom box.. tell me please what machine can i use???

  • @ruben24200 Its called a jigsaw.

  • I dont like damping material.. it sounds like shit

  • @Schwarzeneggerrr oh so you prefer standing waves! more power to ya lol no pun intended

  • Look man i have one Jbl original box with slipstream port in it. i already tried putting damping material in it. it sounded like the port was closed or something very shity bass! than i pulled everything out it sounds like Beast !!

  • That box is gonna sound like shit can already tell! The air from each sub is gonna cancel each other out unless there is something in between the middle of that slot separating the shared slot

  • lol u guys dont sell speaker boxes tho

  • As you can see, it's not very difficult. It's fun too, especially because the end result is some good bass for your music collection.

  • wow ready in 2 minutes!

    respect! -.-

    epic fail

  • My friend surprised me a few months ago when he said he used a jig saw to cut the holes out on the MDF 18mm that I paid for the diy JBL 4645 box. He takes his time and he’s a perfectionist. Thou I do think he’s kidding because the cuts for the port holes are too damn perfect a cut including the hole for 18” sub.

Routers don’t cost that much starting at low price models working up to expensive models.

Better to use Router it takes less time to cut the hole!

  • Seriously dude, I'd suggest eye protection, hearing protection, and (possibly) steel toe shoes when you're working with power tools.

  • @mikebri527

    dont be a bitchhhhh

  • @mikebri527 oh and and a helmet ,bullet proof vest, and a tampon...

  • @mikebri527 AHAHAHAHAHAHA, are you for real?????

  • @mikebri527 you're a pussy

  • @lcmtvbreath4 Fuck off!

  • @mikebri527 okay... i'm gonna go work on some stuff in my back yard... let me go dress up like a douchebag... durr hurr hurr hurrrrr

  • @lcmtvbreath4 noted, that my comment is not in reference to the maker of the video... it's to the guy who was panicking he wasn't padded up like some idiot

  • @mikebri527 hearing protection and steel toed shoes with a jig saw? wow.

eye protection i have no prob with because my eyes have been saved many a time.

  • @mikebri527 did you get something in your eye, go deaf, and cut off your toe at the same time or what? lol jk

  • @graffmang503 No, but here's why I said what I said.

I was helping a friend cut some MDF with a circular saw a while back. I was moving around behind him to keep the power chord from getting in his way then heard BAM and the saw stopped. I turned back to him and saw a big chunk of the MDF missing. The piece was laying by his car and a dent was in his car door. As best as we can figure, he hit a void in the MDF and it broke off and went flying. If it hit someone that would've been bad!

  • @mikebri527 oh damn thats crazy lol

  • quite interresting watching a guy cutting 2 holes with a saw...

  • can i get that big of wood at Home Depot.?

  • @ramonjr28 yes u can get them at local home depot/rona/ stores.......Ask for 3/4" MDF fibreboard.....mayb bout $30 for sheet of 4'X8'......

  • @Krazyhorse24 thanks

  • @OldSchoolSkill ya in canada i got free heath care so i dont pay shit and i save lots of cash on DIY so ya..... canada eh...

  • great video. thanks for sharing.

  • haha as he take the blade out and trys puting it back in while still hold the trigger. thats the kinda shit i did when i was 12. how old are you?

  • @OldSchoolSkill what ru a shop fuckin teaher

  • 1:33 clearly off the line!

  • i just wasted 2 mins watching a guy cut hoels in wood.

  • @MrMonster68 i just wasted 10 seconds reading you spell holes wrong.

  • @MrMonster68 I just thought the same thing. ><

  • @MrMonster68 Says the guy watching videos of people building subwoofer boxes.

  • @masterwolf1212 i was looking for a different video

  • @MrMonster68 there ya go. So then stop complaining. lol

  • @masterwolf1212 look whos the one with 124 likes on their comment, go sit on a pineapple

  • @MrMonster68 124 because there is very few people on youtube who know what they are talking about, and lots of people who want porn, drugs and pyrotechnics while a guy cuts a box while being humped by an elephant on fire, being suspended from a 200 foot building...

Bottom line, do you think your now a youtube superstar because you got 124 likes? I still got almost 300 subsribers, that must mean I know what im doing, if you insist on comparing numbers to experience ;-)

  • @masterwolf1212 Cool dude, now your the one thinking your a youtube superstar 300 isnt much copared to freddiew or kipkay or indymogul so shut up

  • @MrMonster68 :3 Provin to ya, you thought you were a legend because you got 124 likes, thinking is meant something. Never said I thought I was a superstar, just sayin I know what i'm doing. W/e, man, this fight is pointless, idk if your even into car audio, you seem pretty young, and don't have any vids on it. Truce.

  • @masterwolf1212 Ok Truce and im not into car audio but custom boxes arent just for cars and i dont have to have a vid on the subject to be into it and i dont think im a legend because i have 124 likes on a comment

  • @MrMonster68 Your a troll w/e

  • @masterwolf1212 We are going in circles you are a faggot this is pointless w/e

  • @MrMonster68 Aaaaand you keep going like a 12 year old troll

    umad bro?

  • @masterwolf1212 Alright this is pointless you always think you have to right and your the one that started this so shut up and leave me alone

  • @MrMonster68 You'r the one who started complaining about something thats ON TOPIC about the video you watched. So what right do you have that you can complain? In fact, your 12 years old, so what gives you the right to claim who has rights? You called me a faggot too? I do have the right, in fact this is the internet, and we are in america. I have all the right I need. Your a troll, you have plenty of comments on your page complying with my statement. Therefore use the internet when you mature

  • @masterwolf1212 and you seem pretty young in your vids (to young to drive)

  • @MrMonster68 Not "pretty young" since in a few months I'll be driving. And plus, at least I have some form of maturity, I don't go around putting peoples videos down for ridiculous reasons which do not portray the theme, or genre of the video. Therefore, in this case, maturity based on age is a small fragment of the idea, its just you seem around 11 years old, I was only beginning this hobby at your age, not watching people building enclosures, therefore I assume you would carry a similar trait.

  • @masterwolf1212 what i mean is whats the point of pimping out your car speakers if you cant drive

  • @MrMonster68 Its called a freaking hobby smartass. Realize that in 11 months I will be old enough to drive. Plus, when im old enough to drive, I'll have to spend my money on other things, like car insurance, therefore if I am to get 2,000 dollars, I'll have maybe 900 to spend on an audio system/car modifications after my necessary insurance/other payments, apposed to now if I have 2,000 dollars, I have 2,000 dollars for an audio system. Plus, it is of course a hobby. Why are you watching this?

  • YES U ARE.

  • wow u r a fucking idiot. its not like he was fucking licking the damn saw blade, freak out...

  • Gay

  • @OldSchoolSkill dude, dont over react. peace! =D

  • @MagicalMrSkylar like i even care what you said

  • Not wearing PPE :O

  • ummm... waste of my time

  • what kind of wood and whats the prices

  • 214,000 views to see a guy cut the wholes for the subs WOW

  • nice box !! people who think that the hole has to be perfect are morons ive used a square blade on a multimaster before pain in the ass

  • @davisti88 mdf

  • No dust mask? You're definitely asking for trouble cutting MDF without wearing proper protection. Please ensure your well-being and safety when dealing with MDF, because it has a chemical known to cause cancer. Take care

  • @wisenatt omg your a fucking moron

  • wow u cut out a hole great job

  • how wide is the port

  • this video sucks ass doesnt explain nothing

  • @scottamania2004 yea cause its so hard its called board foot calculator and common sense

  • if i am making a ported box for 2 12's, can i make it any size?

  • @bonacotti45 no look up speaker box building noob lol jk but u are one

  • if it works use it.. he should be able to use what ever method he feels comfortable with.. leave em alone. nice box btw

  • hacker

  • Класний лобзік!!! Саб це фігня!!!

  • how do I calculate how big and whas shae to make my speaker box ? i'm planning to build it acording in size to a professionaly built speaker wich has same wats. is that ok ?

  • Anyone know what components you need to Passive 2 way PA-speakers "powered" by speakon cable from another ACtive speaker?

  • this is something but i like the big ones

  • thats what she said

  • Damn! Beat me to it :(

  • win

  • dam, didnt see your comment, i guess im a month late. lol

  • thats what she said

  • what kind of wood is that???? where can i find it??? plz answer

  • @mazilusanel Looks to be MDF fiberboard to me. You can get it at Home Depot or pretty much any lumber yard. It's wonderful to work with, but soooo heavy!

  • @Sweeper5 why do u say MDF fiberboard? thats like saying Middle Density Fiberboard fiberboard.

  • @david96888 I guess you meant to say "medium density fiberboard", instead of "middle density". But thanks for the correction anyway Einstein, although it was a pointless correction to mention. :-) J/K

  • @Sweeper5 yes lol i screwed up while fixing your screw up :D

  • @david96888 LOL! We're quite a pair, dude. I've worked with MDF quite a bit...it's heavy as hell, but if you can overlook the weight, it's a nice product and is much nicer to work with than plywood or particleboard. It's cheap too, which is a pleasant surprise these days. Anyway, cheers bro. Still laughing at our descriptions... middle medum density fiberboard fiberboard. LOL! We both need to go back to shop class I reckon. :-)

  • its called MDF. You can get it at alowes or homedepot

  • @Crawler374 thx a lot bro

  • 12in hole for a 12in speaker d'oh

  • @videouploader

    lol you are pro......

  • Ok nice, but dont forget to put some whool in that box for an optimal deep pure bass quality. Only the backside of i is enough for an ported box. sealed box you can fil it to 75%. I know this information from Pioneer Suport..

  • @VideoUploaderr wouldn't that suck to cut those holes after its all done, and realize you cut them to big, XD

  • @dereileak

No no i mean put the whool inside at the back before installing the sub.

  • @VideoUploaderr I will have to put some in mine to make it sound nice

  • @dereileak definitely! you get much deeper pure bass like that Harman Kardon subwoofers for home theaters. Also i have a Harman Kardon big subwoofer in my house, i opened it its full of white whool at the back only inside.

  • @VideoUploaderr The optimum interior of a speaker volume is calculated using measured electrical characteristics of a driver (these electrical characteristics are commonly called the "Thiele-Small Parameters"). Once this optimum volume is calculated (according to the intended application of the finished "speaker), it often results in an enclosure that is too big for the intended location. We can use a smaller enclosure by using damping material such as wool or foam. Continues,...

  • @VideoUploaderr The damping material will cause the driver to behave as if it is in a larger enclosure containing a greater air volume (air being the damping 'material' of choice). It does so at a cost though. the 'artificial' damping material will cause the driver to react slower than if it was only 'suspended' by air and the it will also react differently in it's frequency response. As long as you have the choice to build to the optimal volume (as determined by the T-S params) do so. Continues

  • @VideoUploaderr Use any 'artificial' damping material is a compromise meant to overcome another compromise, in essence a kludge, and not the best way to do things.

  • Comment removed

  • looks like its coming along good. but who wants to watch a video of the guy cutting the port holes out? should've made the video have clips from beginning to end...

  • Those would be speaker holes sharpie!

  • ospaceboy is a dumass

  • the hole in a box is called a PORT that is tuned to a specific Frequency dumbas*s , you wont reach high DB's without it for those saying you dont need a port, i dont believe in closed enclosures it just dont give the subs enough air to breathe

  • Low frequency transducers don't breathe Andre', they resonate. Now take a deep breath and hit da'books.

  • how dunb your post to put holes in a box it beats harder with out holes.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • warded u go 2 skuul Einstein?

  • use what u got

  • I agree and he seems to do a pretty good job with the jigsaw. (Better than I would anyway,)

  • not everyone has a router..

  • @7356205 well then buy one

  • @7356205 its not a router dumb ass its a jig saw

  • A jigsaw works fine...but I agree, a router with a circle cutting jig is by far the best, easiest, and most accurate method of cutting out the holes for the driver and round ports.

  • ????

  • first off, a router with a jig is what he needs to use. secondly, thats MDF, not plywood. thirdly, youre a fucking moron.

  • true mdf sucks i was using it recently and the nails just split it in half im pissed off and wont make that make mistake again

  • @MagicalMrSkylar Your the Moron,,He's using what he has smart ass..God I HATE Like you ..Why don't you find a bus and run in front of it..Only thing your good for is nothing what so ever............

  • @MagicalMrSkylar u couldnt make a ox for shit so shut the fuck up

  • @MagicalMrSkylar you cant make a box for shit so shut the fuck up

  • @MagicalMrSkylar your a fucking moron your suppose to your MDF when building subwoofer enclosures for less possibility for it flaking or falling a part fuck head

  • @spydermaan2 i said use mdf, you fucking idiot. lmfao.

  • @MagicalMrSkylar right on :)

  • @MagicalMrSkylar Plywood is so similar to MDF it doesn't matter. And everyone uses MDF. I don't use a router either yet I still make near to perfect circles. It doesn't matter if they arent perfect as long as the sub fits and no air leaks. Your a fucking moron, as you say, because you try to express your strong emotions by swearing, which makes you look dumb, and nobody wants to be around you which is why you post these rude comments on youtube!
