I just bought a used 40d and I also have a new T2i or 550d. The metal body, better grip, second lcd screen, second dial and bigger and brighter viewfinder make the 40d ten times easier and better to use. When I use the T2i now it is such a pain changing settings, checking your settings or checking exposure meter. The 40d is so much better if you use manual mode, and so much better if you know what you are doing and use the custom functions of the 40d.
why buy a camera to just take pictures when you can buy camera, camcorder, mp3, mp4 player, webcam, digital voice recorder and flash drive all in one!!? great for youtube for easy uploads as well
its the latest technology and at the best price.
take a look at my video presentation for more info and how to get yours.
im looking at buying an SLR. The only problem is i can't decide which one to get. at the moment its between the 40D and the 500D. the 500 has more megapixals and HiDef video. but the 40D is more solid and has faster FPS.
Thanks. Looking for a camera that's good for video and has antishake feature.
Had an Olympus MJU700 that died just after waranty. Looked on net and found lots more people got the bluescreen of death error number so will never be buying another Olympus, hence my interest in Canon
I have a 20d and its a great camera. If you go the canon route the first thing to buy extra is a spare battery. Theyre cheap on ebay. Also some decent lenses and make sure you get the uv filters to protect the lensMylens and accesoory list is
1 spare battery
2 spare cf card
3 28 135 lens
2 10 22 lens
3 580ex flash and the wireless remote off ebay its called T-4
4 1.4 50mm lens
5 100 macro lens f2.8
so far ive got the 28 135 lens lol theyre all expensive items.
i actually have the EOS-3 with several lenses, not that small of a cam.. actually weighs a lot. i used a nikon FM2 for 8 years...
..buying the 40D would be a waste of money if you have no experience. and considering you're 16 years old, you don't. might want to consider a smaller camera.
10 22 efs lens for landscapes and interiors especially if you want to sell photos. you can out your cam on a table opposite people and get them all in the shot. keep it level tho as it distorts.
i personally own a 10-22 and from my opinion, this is with the 17-55 the Rolls Royce of the EF-S Canon Lenses. for portraits, architecture, landscapes et so much type of photos, this lens is just perfect !
The only annoyed me about it is that Canon didn't give a Lens Hood with it ! a friend of mine sold his 17-40 without the lens hood and gave it to me, if not, I would to pay extra dollars only for a piece of plastic..
The tripod is a Manfrotto carbon fibre, with an Arca-Swiss ballhead. The ballhead was expensive, but it will last forever - I've already owned it for 10+ years.

Nice video but could have delved into the more technical stuff like how many megapixels it has. Talking of which how many megapixels does it have?

Buy the 40D!!!
The 40D is a much better camera!
Megapix are not important (only if you need to print BIG size)

40D 100%. 40D is semi pro, better built, more features aside from hd video. Many other things.

looks to me like some macro :)
60 or 100

Nah, looks like the 17-85mm to me. You can't zoom with the macro lenses.
ChillpointNews 3 years ago
In the beginning it's the 17-85 lens, and after a while, he uses a 100 2.8 USM makro. Great lens anyway
