This is a great bot! Awesome flipper. Watching these videos is actually helping me in the design process of a totally hybrid type of robot that has never before been used or seen at battles before. I think if i manage to finish it and it's within the weight limit, it could take on Ziggy, and pretty much any other robot thrown at it.

I was joggin in the park the other night and Ziggy came up behind me and flipped me backwards and I landed on my butt. It kept on running up under me and flipping me until I was bloodied and bruised. It finally quit when I quit moving and played dead..this thing is really a hazard

@atlantisSkater We've lost a number of matches early on. Ziggy's been undefeated at Robogames for 4-5 years.

The "Smoke" you've seen is actually condensed vapor. For thrust, Ziggy uses a compressed medium / gas.  When using high-pressure air, the medium remains gas. When we use CO2, there is a phase change (liquid to gas) which creates a significant drop in temperature... hence the vapor freezing out of the air, and looking like smoke.

i saw a HW bot's profile  on the battlebots website, the bot's name was Vault, and it had the EXACT SAME DESIGN that ziggy has, strange isnt it

I am one of the builders of Vault. Yes it's basically a copy of Ziggy for the heavyweight class. Ziggy's builders are friends of mine, and they have been pretty helpful and supportive of it. I just uploaded a video of Vault being tested yesterday in a parking lot.

Chaos 2 is naturally outmatched. It was made to fit the Robot Wars weight limit (at the time it was built) - 80kg. Which equals about 176lb.

Ziggy weighs 340 pounds. Almost DOUBLE.

There's something I can't quite help pointing out: The guy at 0:55 claims he likes Ziggy because of the lifting arm. I wouldn't exactly call it a lifting arm as such, it can toss Heavyweight robots around like mere toys =D

Not to be offensive or anything, but I seem to notice that loads of American robot builders seem to refer to flippers as "lifters", even if they're capable of throwing opponents end-over-end out of the arena. Weird, don't you think?

True, but many people don't realize that they are two different mechanisms. A lifter uses hydraulics or pneumatics to lift an opponent out of their comfort zone and gain control of them in one way or another. A flipper uses compressed energy, air or gas, to release an explosive, single motion to destabilize an opponent. Example of lifter: Biohazard or or Panic Attack. Example of Flipper: Ziggy or Toro.

The one with red tires was Sewer Snake.

To be fair I should note... I edited in the best *Ziggy* clips. Sewer snake had control of ziggy many times our matches together... but I didn't see a good reason to include these in the "Best of ziggy" footage. Sewer Snake is a very robust and impressive machine with an excellent driver.
