  • Tony Banham died in 1997 and is buried in Leeds, he was like a brother to me and I still miss him today. If you were ever in the shit it was great having Tony as a friend.

  • should be more documenteries like this

  • I have no clue how I came across this documentary but it made me happy to see them finally win! Thanks for the upload

  • Tony died a couple of year ago after being a publican in Hull .

  • Looks a lot older than 1980.

  • Just found this, Great real Rugby League...Love it

  • Only just found these. I've sat up 'til the wee small hours watching the lot. I was brought up with this. Dave Varey - my all time hero. And an out and out thug. :) Tony Banham - where is he now? George Pflaster.... And Stuart PIper too.

Thanks ComeOnYouDonny. Made my day this has. Proper rugby league. Crap. But proper.

  • Knowing what has happened to a couple of the players, it brings a lump in the the throat at the end of the film. They were genuine blokes and not like some of the time wasters of today.

  • What happened to some of the players?

These docos are the real heart land of rugby league as it was in 1980, riverting viewing!

  • get in there, tony lad! nice try.

  • Thanks very much for these films. Proper rugby league. I still have my Doncaster and Huyton Appreciation Society badge (and perhaps even the membership card somewhere) from round this time.

  • Thanks very much for posting this.I remember seeing it when it was first shown and have had a soft spot for Donny ever since. :)
