  • Which pixel is MJ

  • cool vid, Your def a Mason fan, great knick, saw his son at a bar the other day.... LoL @ doug Christie..what happened to him that season???? Didn't he get traded for Brad lohaus or something??? Don Nelson was such a terrible knick coach...john starks is the man!

  • Mason ball handling ability always amazed me for being that size. I know everyone remembers his free throw shot LOL

  • grow up u guys, jordan kobe, its just a fuckin a game, grow up!!!!

  • Do U have any pertinent info to add to the discussion?

If not, then get the hell off my channel making demands of people who weren't talkin' to U anyway..

This is a place & avenue for avid basketball fans of the sport to have discussions regarding the game, it's history & it's players.

If U don't like that, then don't come on here..

  • I agree with everything stated on this clip but let's understand one thing, these were the Don Nelson Knicks, not the Riley Knicks. Besides that, anyone that attempts to belittle Jordan based on eras is an idiot anyway and not worth conversing with. The only player today that is near Jordan in skill level is Wade, and he is streaky. Lebron's jumpshot is inconsistent and his post game is nowhere near Jordan's. Kobe is comparable shotwise, but he can be intimidated, i.e. Celtics. Jordan could not.

  • Jordan owns!

  • Who questions Jordan's ability against the players today? Jordan at 40 played well enough against Kobe, Pierce, Mcgrady etc. Players in the SG/SF position are better overall in this era but Jordan would still be the best..

  • "Who questions Jordan's ability against the players today?"

Too many of these uninformed & ignorant homers here on YouTube that's who LOL!!

You'd be surprised how many of these dummies say that shit, but by the time those of us who "ARE" informed about the game get done with 'em, they typically walk away with hurt feelings, after we've slapped 'em around with the FACTS..

  • The irony is that the Kobe homers are now getting a taste of their own medicine with Lebron becoming the "next Jordan". Just check out Hollinger's latest column --

    sports(.)espn(.)go(.)com/nba/columns/story?columnist=hollinger_john&page=Predictions-090107

Hollinger: Everyone will realize they were comparing the wrong guy to MJ

These clowns will never learn. Always in search of the next Jordan, the next big thing, the next cash cow. It will never end.

  • you are not lying kor i think its hilarious that the kobesexuals call the jordan fans "old and senile" and kobe better etc etc... and its the Lebron fans who are now saying that kobe fans are "old".. Kobe overall has a better career than Lebron, HOWEVER right now Lebron is the best player in the game, and he is only 23 so he has another 8-10 years of great basketball left in him where kobe maybe has 5 at most.

  • i can't agree with you more. When Kobe scored 61 at MSG, he had ZERO rebounds. MJ would never had done that. It shows you how one dimensional Kobe is. Also, the game was over with 6 minutes left in 4th but Kobe insisted to stay in the game to pile up his stats. MJ had a little more class. When he had 55 at MSG, it was only his 5th game back after 1 1/2 swinging bats and he faced a Knicks team that just went to the finals in 94. Kobe had 61 against a sub .500 team with no D.

  • Also, the last time he avg. over 30 ppg, he was 33 yrs old and shooting 49% with most of his points coming from fadeaways and jumpers. He didn't drive as much and that just shows you how easy the game was for him. I haven't seen a player avg. more 30 ppg since MJ and shot 49%. MJ shot over 50% for numerous years in his prime while averaging over 30 ppg.

  • @bballmemories And rounded off in that season, he shot 50%....916 of 1,850 field goal attempts (49.51%)...and if my memory serves me correctly, for much of that season he was over 50%...

  • say chief, gotta correct u, kobe didnt score 61 against the Knicks, its was agaisnt the New York Liberty in MSG

  • LOL!!!!! Now you know the New York Liberty don't need to be disrespected like that! LOL!!!!!!

  • MJ would dominate in any era. Why? Because the guy could score in so many ways. MJ moved well without the ball, used screens effectively, was a great shooter, could drive to the hoop, could post up, could stop and pop, etc etc. He basically could do everything well. You can't guard him any one way.

  • Jordan was automatic, against any and all. There's no zone like MJ's zone.

  • I WAS IN THIS GAME! hehehe. yeah, it was never a contest to begin with. I was sitting in the nose bleed section but worked my way down to the lower levels sitting next to Walt Clyde Frazier coz people started leaving at the end of the 3rd. it was that boring. one of their 18th straight wins, one of their 72 wins.

  • So dominant against such a good team.

  • What a pass by Luc on that alleyoop. Wow! Thanks for the upload!

  • he was a very good passer and shooter for a big man

  • wow!! i remember this game...great upload!! i remember harper making three straight 3pt baskets....and ofcourse jordan like always doing his thing!! great upload!! you're the man!!

  • I love the term Granite, and he is really just like that.

  • Mason is 6-7.

  • thanks for the post! glad youre back at it!

    great rare game

  • Btw, that drive at 8:59 (yet another instance of a MESSED UP CAMERA) is featured on some other videos, and is a SICK drive and finish. He crosses one guy up and then eludes another one in the air for the reverse.

  • nice editing, thanks

  • Gotta love how they switch to that ridiculous under-the-basket camera right at 8:36 when Jordan loses the defender on the dribble. (rolls eyes) God, I hate the NBA's camera angle decisions. They've ruined so many of Jordan's plays. Thanks for the upload blackadam.

  • Mason guarded MJ in 96 playoffs with Knicks and 98 playoffs with Hornets. Mason was younger and stronger but MJ still prevailed. The only big difference between Mason and LBJ is the ugly looking free throw by Mason lol

  • the only big difference between mason and lebron james is everything.....no comparison at all...next topic...please!! r u kidding me?

  • **shakin my head**

The comparison "Isn't" one of their abilities, it's of their "Physical" stature..

Obviously, Anthony Mason isn't the "Player" Lebron is, but in terms of "Physical Makeup" (not ability), he's EVERY bit & then some..

That's the point I was making that obviously U missed..

  • oh ok.....my bad!! you're right!! bodywise mason is much stronger and more muscular than lebron is. lebron can't get that big if he wants to be able to run, jump and move like he does now. mason was never a high flyer.

  • Most definitely..

Anthony Mason was "Never" the high flyer Lebron is. He just didn't possess that kinda of leaping ability..

But in terms of physiqe & body type, they're comparable..

  • "Mace in your FACE" oh abosolutely they physically comparable. i dont know how many time mace took grant, williams, and king off the dribble and he alwasy out muscled the sf in the post when they tried to put someone faster on him. One note about his strength, i've seen him get blocked by mj a couple times and he STILL maintained control of the ball, thats not easy considering mj's rep for blocking balls into the 3rd row or to a teammate.
