Watch the episode with Gus' last thoughts as he slipped away. He called Harley the love of his life and even wondered where his relationship with Olivia might have gone with more time. Gus and Natalia's marriage seemed to be unraveling before the accident if anything.
@thorngenx You're right. Gus married Natalia because he felt guilty for the fact that she raised Rafe all on her own without him. Natalia had to remember that a Child doesn't keep a man and woman together.
I miss these two down deep in my soul, but I am glad it ended. It is a soap and if it had not have ended it would have killed me when they broke it up.

I have found the song that plays at the end of this scene on 4/15/09 where Olivia takes Natalia back to the church. It's Kyler England "Clean Slate". They use another Kyler England song when Olivia on another day put the necklace on Natalia in the kitchen, it's Bells and Whistles.....I'm still searching though....
It always gives me pause when a show or movie shoots at a cemetary. Filming scenes at someone's final resting place is a bit...I don't know...disrespectful is too harsh, but it's hinkey IMHO. Is Gus' "headstone" three steps leading up to a higher level of the cemetary grounds?
I liked that song at the end too. Death is hard; a broken heart is like a death. I thought the writer's brilliantly used where death and a broken heart cross paths...pain and separation. Magnificent writing!! And the acting is perfect.
I've been all day catching up on this s/l and I'm practically brain dead, and on this last clip, heartsick. The one thing that keeps creeping in to my mush brain is: of all the couples that I've known, the ones that have the most passion, whose marriages and relationships have endured, are the ones where the two parties did not really like each other very much in the beginning. I hope that Otalia is such an enduring love.
Can anyone tell me the name of the song played at 3:06 ? It was played in the episode during Nat and Frank's engagement party when Olivia was walking down the stairs as well.
I love the symbolism as Olivia is laying roses on Gus' grave. She put two long stem roses up, but the next she breaks the stem off of it and all the while she is talking about her family. The short rose represents Emma and the other two Otalia.
The actress who plays Olivia just blows me away....her emotion is so raw and real. The character has come a long way. I hope the actress (Chrystal?) is nominated for an Emmy, she deserves it!
The cemetery scene was very moving. The way she was placing the roses as if she was putting all her heart, body, and soul out. Again great emotional acting that was spot on by CC!
I'm struck at how angry Natalia looks in this. It's like she's angry at herself, the situation AND Liv. They are SO intimate yet Liv is crying at Gus' grave not with/to Natalia. There is something Olivia isn't willing to say except when drunk. Olivia's masking that she's painfully upset and why. Maybe Natalia is a little angry that Olivia, her would be suitor, is choosing THIS as Olivia's first time to back down from something. Women wanted to be courted and wooed. Directly.
The first scene would be so much better if the vocals in the song weren't mixed in at the same level as Olivia's voice. It's a nice song, but it's distracting here.
ok first, i love that buzz asks from if he "loves her enough to let her go". because he knows that is EXACTLY what olivia is doing which means she truly does love her. and i have a feeling buzz might think that olivia is actually better for nat than his own son haha.
second, olivia, if you know nat feels the same way about you, and can plainly see how somber she has been re wedding stuff, why do you think sentencing her to an unwanted life is good for her??? miserable housewife is a good thing?

It always gives me pause when a show or movie shoots at a cemetary. Filming scenes at someone's final resting place is a bit...I don't know...disrespectful is too harsh, but it's hinkey IMHO. Is Gus' "headstone" three steps leading up to a higher level of the cemetary grounds?

I liked that song at the end too. Death is hard; a broken heart is like a death. I thought the writer's brilliantly used where death and a broken heart cross paths...pain and separation. Magnificent writing!! And the acting is perfect.

I've been all day catching up on this s/l and I'm practically brain dead, and on this last clip, heartsick. The one thing that keeps creeping in to my mush brain is: of all the couples that I've known, the ones that have the most passion, whose marriages and relationships have endured, are the ones where the two parties did not really like each other very much in the beginning. I hope that Otalia is such an enduring love.

I love the symbolism as Olivia is laying roses on Gus' grave. She put two long stem roses up, but the next she breaks the stem off of it and all the while she is talking about her family. The short rose represents Emma and the other two Otalia.

The actress who plays Olivia just blows me away....her emotion is so raw and real. The character has come a long way. I hope the actress (Chrystal?) is nominated for an Emmy, she deserves it!

The cemetery scene was very moving. The way she was placing the roses as if she was putting all her heart, body, and soul out. Again great emotional acting that was spot on by CC!

I'm struck at how angry Natalia looks in this. It's like she's angry at herself, the situation AND Liv. They are SO intimate yet Liv is crying at Gus' grave not with/to Natalia. There is something Olivia isn't willing to say except when drunk. Olivia's masking that she's painfully upset and why. Maybe Natalia is a little angry that Olivia, her would be suitor, is choosing THIS as Olivia's first time to back down from something. Women wanted to be courted and wooed. Directly.

The first scene would be so much better if the vocals in the song weren't mixed in at the same level as Olivia's voice. It's a nice song, but it's distracting here.

ok first, i love that buzz asks from if he "loves her enough to let her go". because he knows that is EXACTLY what olivia is doing which means she truly does love her. and i have a feeling buzz might think that olivia is actually better for nat than his own son haha.
second, olivia, if you know nat feels the same way about you, and can plainly see how somber she has been re wedding stuff, why do you think sentencing her to an unwanted life is good for her??? miserable housewife is a good thing?
