I have no objection to polygamy from the moral sense. A guy can do whatever he wants that is if he can support all those wives. I however object to polygamy from an ecological point of view. The human population is already over capacity. Polygamy means 1 husband wih 3-4 wives with more than 20 kids. That means the population increases by 5 folds. 5 fold of 7 billion is 35 000 000 000. The planet can't support that many people doesn't matter how technologically advance human society become.

omg..i was in Malaysia(Kaula Lampur & Penang) this past summer(2011) and remember being amazed at how many kids couples walking around(especially at the airport) seem to have with them.. this wasn't just a coincidence..we saw plenty of them.. couples with 5-6 kids...they reproduce like crazy...and not suprisingly,all the wives were wearing the hijab. lol...but i don't think i saw multiple wives..

Some women do not even have access to knowledge on how to leave, let alone where to go, and how to be independent. Obviously they cannot resist/ cannot focus, is they see a woman's legs, cleavage or any part of her body. I mean women in e.g. Iran obviously have no problem seeing men in 'normal' clothes that reveal their arms, hair etc. so when you say that only the women need to cover up, you are indirectly saying that you would not be able to handle it if women showed off a little skin.

I know it's hard for us Westerners to accept this type of lifestyle. I wouldn't mind cooking and cleaning for my husband and my children as long as he gets out there and WORKS in order to support us completely. In fact American society did used to be that way. But in today's society families can't make enough money with only one parent working. Now to expect the wife to work outside of the home and then do chores plus be fully obedient....ain't gon happen.

@goonodeath Slavery isn't something that can be abolished over night, you should know that, given America was built on slavery and ethnic cleansing when it wasn't apparent in the Middle East, so we can both play the high horse game. Multi-national companies such as Nike and Apple use 'contract manufacturing' to get third party manufactures to make their goods, essentially slave labour. Should also look into your prison system too, which is slavery by the back door.

@jj10193 Malaysia is a beautiful country but let's be honest now, there is some tension between the three distinct ethnic groups(Malay, Chinese, and Indian)...I was informed that Malay people are more likely to get hired or get accepted into top schools & universities than the Chinese or Indians..a little chinese kid told me that..there definitely is some tension because of the bias against the chinese and the indians.

omg..i was in Malaysia(Kaula Lampur & Penang) this past summer(2011) and remember being amazed at how many kids couples walking around(especially at the airport) seem to have with them.. this wasn't just a coincidence..we saw plenty of them.. couples with 5-6 kids...they reproduce like crazy...and not suprisingly,all the wives were wearing the hijab. lol...but i don't think i saw multiple wives..

@purpleprinc3 Other religions, such as budhism and daoism are not as bad to me since their texts do not directly promote violence, slavery and misogamy. I'm tired of people arguing about this shit like there is an argument. The people who wrote the Koran were barbarians, the Koran is barbaric, and anyone who takes a literal translation...like these assholes in the video...will inevitably be barbaric. There is no way to argue this...unless of course you want to insinuate slavery is okay.

@goonodeath That's the equivalent of me saying western values are corrupt, or the American constitution is corrupt. It is more accurate to say it is politicians who are corrupt, who twist what is good to serve evil. Just like corrupt preachers twist the Bible or the Qur'an. Stop using foul language and false historical stereotypes, may I remind you where the word barbarian came from, I suggest you check its etymology before making such ignorant statements.

@goonodeath As you said, their are good Muslims, don't you find it odd the vast majority of Muslims are good when they believe in a book that supposedly promotes barbarism? Religion doesn't do logic? Please check who invented the 'scientific method'. If your going to continue using foul language instead of letting the strength of your arguement do the talking, this debate is over. @goonodeath Slavery isn't something that can be abolished over night, you should know that, given America was built on slavery and ethnic cleansing when it wasn't apparent in the Middle East, so we can both play the high horse game. Multi-national companies such as Nike and Apple use 'contract manufacturing' to get third party manufactures to make their goods, essentially slave labour. Should also look into your prison system too, which is slavery by the back door.

Don't believe me, prisoners get 'isolation' if they don't work in prison, America imprisons more of its population then any country in the world, and of other people around the world. Yet you want to talk to me about slavery in the past when you don't even know it at present?

@jj10193 Malaysia is a beautiful country but let's be honest now, there is some tension between the three distinct ethnic groups(Malay, Chinese, and Indian)...I was informed that Malay people are more likely to get hired or get accepted into top schools & universities than the Chinese or Indians..a little chinese kid told me that..there definitely is some tension because of the bias against the chinese and the indians.

@heomak I do not disagree with you, i acknowledge all these things living in a corrupt and unfair country. Its a sad thing that we should actually work towards. Many years ago, there was peace between ethnicitys in Malaysia, these words come from my law lecturer and my own grandfather who have lived in the past era. But i say, behind all these corruption and broken justice, there lives a simple peace, when multi ethnic friends gather in a mamak for one. Let Malaysia be known for something more.
